Oh dear, seems I neglected to post the room description:

Twisted and bloated, the wooden stairs connecting the main floor and basement are slick and saturated with water. The walls are covered in algae and the ceiling is coated with black mold, while old furniture and props from the theater are piled in the corners in soggy, crumbling heaps. Small crustaceans and numerous insects occasionally peek from the detritus or scramble into cracks or the shallow pools on the floor. The smell of rot and salt water hangs damply in the air.

To the west, a section of the brick wall has crumbled into a heap, creating an opening into a larger area beyond.

So, we're taking 50 minutes to heal up? No complaints since we badly need it, just checking. Also, you can use battle medicine outside of combat, if we feel we need more.

Relia breathes really heavily after that fight, seeing everybody is moderately to severely injured. She accepts Alya's help and cleaning happily, recovering her dagger from the water in the process.

"Yea...so that was a thing, huh? I can see why the goblins had so much trouble."

Remembering that Alya used one of her own potions to help Relia, she'll offer her own minor healing potion in exchange, and a second one to Alanosse if he needs it.

When it does come time to explore once more, she'll join Alya near the front of the group and Avoid Notice again.

Pathfinder Provisions ◆◇↺

The Pathfinders have the time they need. After all, the place isn't due to flood again for another six hours.

This area may once have been used as a storage area or workshop, or perhaps both a storage area and workshop. There are tools hanging from a rack on one of the walls, but they're rusty and corroded and not in very good shape; there's a sledgehammer that's useable for now, but liable to break if pressed.

A pile of mostly-junk also contains an oddly clean and intact wine-red beret, though it is a little beaten up. Additionally, there is a small ivory jewelry box.

Alya determines that the short tunnel connecting the room to the sewer probably wasn't intentionally built, or at least it wasn't original. The wall that should have separated the two collapsed or was knocked down, likely after much of it was washed away by the floodwater. It narrows on the sewer side, and she had to squeeze a bit to fit through--the crocodiles couldn't have managed it. That seems even more recent, with masonry knocked loose to block the passage.

It looks like the crocs may have trapped themselves here by partially collapsing the tunnel. That may explain why the beasts attack anyone who enters the room: They were starving.

Pathfinder Provisions ◆◇↺

The Pathfinders take the time they need to tend their wounds.
These crocodiles may well have been the goblins' "monsters"--they fit the king's description--so that part of their mission may already be complete.
But they also recall that Dendel Dreng asked them to "perform an initial exploration and assessment," and so far they've only seen one room.

Besides, the sewer here seems to connect to several other areas, and there's some kind of machinery noise coming from the west... Pathfinders don't usually let something like horrific near-death experiences slow them down!
Given that the sewers have been repeatedly flushed with flooding seawater, they don't even smell as bad as one would normally expect from a sewer.

The strong scent of saltwater hints at the daily flooding that washes through these sewers from the nearby sea, as do the occasional stranded fish or crustacean. The walkways alongside the sewer are slick and damp, although relatively clear of the normal waste found in a sewer.

I've opened up the map to show the entire open sewer area, and put some indicators where there are doorways or other potential points of interest. You can describe where you'd like to explore next, or just move your tokens on the map.
EtA: Oh, and exploration tactics!

B2 is just the label for open sewers. Although I notice that the bridge doesn't actually show any walkways to get from one side to the other. That would have been a glaring flaw when the water was sewage, but since it's seawater now you can probably just wade through it.

Tall stone cylinders stand in a line in the center of this chamber. Broken pipes protrude from the ceiling above the cylinders, rusted and covered in green algae. Every few moments, one of the cylinders makes a feeble grinding sound and a dribble of water flows down from the top of the cylinder and drips to the floor.

DC 15 Crafting or Thievery:
This section of Absalom has always been low enough to have problems with water infiltration, so the residents long ago had these magically powered sump pumps installed.

When the system functioned, it drew water from below the foundation and pushed through the pipes into the sewers and channeled away. The earthquake destroyed the connection to the pipes, and the increased water volume soon overwhelmed the system, rendering it permanently inoperable--and even if both the pumps and pipes could be repaired, there's now far too much water for them to accomplish anything anyway.

Tieri, who can swim as easily as he walks, waits by the pool to see whether Alanossë is successful. No sense stopping him if he wants to show off.

Relia was just about to offer to strip down and go swimming, but instead just stands on the shore and giggles a bit while the boys handle it.

The pool, while deep enough to require diving and uncomfortably cold, is also still. Swimming in the water is easy enough.

Alanossë recovers a locked metal box. It's been sealed with wax, which means there's hope that it's watertight. Unfortunately, the wax has also completely jammed the locking mechanism. Even if the party had a key, there would be no hope in opening it properly.

Alanossë is able to force it open, though. Inside is a jade cat, five gold, and an old scrap of paper with the words “For the Ilnudar family matter.”

No check required to swim, but I'll apply that check to Force Open instead.

Relia takes Alanosse's shirt and uses it to rub his shoulders and dry him off while still giggling at the boys' antics, looking over the paper and items.

"Hm. That's a family name of some note...they moved away from Absalom almost 100 years ago though."

After emerging from the cold water and shivering a bit, Alanossë shows the box and pries it open, revealing its contents. He jumps a bit as Relia rubs him and dries off his shoulders, murmuring, ”Thank you, m’Lady,” but then relaxes as he listens to her tell of the family mentioned on the paper…

Looking to his companions, he asks, ”Shall we head northwest now?”
