1. Player name: Shadow Dragon
2. Character name: Kageryu Takeda
3. Character class and level: Magus 2
4. PFS #: 2369921-7
5. Faction: Dark Archive
6. Day job roll: Craft (Armor): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 20
It looks like we have a lack of divine casters. If need be I could switch out to a L3 cleric. I was hoping to have Kageryu for the faction angle but it's never good to have zero healing.

Actually, Kaervek has a wand of Infernal Healing - and skill ranks in UMD for a total bonus of +8. So out of combat healing is covered. We may have another problem, though: the Average Party Level (APL).
Current party:
- Psychoanalyst 5
- Gunslinger 1
- Fighter 2
- Magus 2
- Psychic 5
- Wizard 3
APL = (5+1+2+2+5+3)/6 = 18/6 = 3.0
A party of five to seven characters whose APL falls between two subtiers must play the higher tier with the four-character adjustments found throughout the scenario.
It looks like we must play up with the 4-char adjustments. This could be quite dangerous for level 1 or 2 characters. However, if we want to play down with 6 players...
Divide the total number of character levels by the number of characters in the party, rounding to the nearest whole number. If the result of the Average Party Level calculation ends with 0.5, the players should decide whether to round up or down.
...we need to lose at least 3 character levels: 15/6 = 2.5 (can be rounded down to 2.0)
@all: Any ideas on this? Do you want to play up or down?

Kageryu is 'less useful' from a combat perspective due to needing L3 before getting Dervish Dance and Dex to damage with a scimitar. Right now he only has +1 to damage from Str. His limited skill selection doesn't make him a great choice for the 'skilled' role.
Given his weakness in combat I definitely wouldn't want to play up with him at the table. There's still plenty of time before Outpost games start though.

A brand new character (the lashunta fighter) instead of phaeton_nz's level 5 would put us in lower tier for sure: 14/6 = 2.333333 (will be rounded down to 2.0) So if you don’t mind at all, that would solve the problem quite nicely! :-)
If you played the third level skald (bard/barbarian) we would need to lose one more level. As a last resort I could exchange my level 3 wizard for my level 2 ranger (switch hitter). But I was really looking forward to finally play him again - and also, Kageryu might want to copy some spells...

GM_Colin wrote:Just a reminder that if you choose to play with a lv4 Pre-gen character, you can apply the chronicle onto your lv1 character as a 500gp 2pp chronicle.Interesting, I did not know that. I am curious - could you guide me to the source of that infotmation?
Pathfinder Society Guide, Page 7, left-hand column under 'Applying Credit':
"You can apply credit from a higher-tier adventure to a 1st-level Roleplaying Guild character. When doing so, reduce the gp reward to 500 gp if the adventure grants 1 XP or 1,398 gp if it grants 3 XP. You do not benefit from any boons until your Roleplaying Guild character reaches the minimum level listed on the Chronicle sheet, unless otherwise noted."I included the last line about the boons if that's important to you.

I do have a third level skald (bard/barbarian) I could play instead of Milo if you prefer. Or even use a few boons and start the lashunta fighter I've been thinking about.
It never hurts to have more martials at a low-level table. We're also missing a divine caster and possibly a healer? I'm not sure what the psychic classes have on their 'spell' lists.
