Hanu easily grabs the Linesnapper. The crowd roars, cheering on the wonderful skill the vanara has shown to them. The judges are also impressed with catching the shark, giving the Team Pathfinders 1 Tournament Point for the biggest catch.
Tally before Round 4
Team Pathfinders - 13
Team Deka - 9
Team Demed - 12
Deka curses her luck, inspecting the damage. “Almost all of our lines snapped, and we’re out of spares,” she growls. With an angry sigh, she grabs her grappling hook and nods to the robust Chelaxian man holding the team’s only remaining line.
“Never give up, right?” asks the man with a grin.
“Never give up,” agrees Deka, hoisting her grappling hook.
All PCs can attempt to help in this situation. A PC who wishes to help Deka can attempt a DC 11 Crafting check to Repair the lines or a DC 14 Diplomacy check to convince other participants and bystanders to pitch in. With Demed’s attitude being friendly, he’s the first to offer his lines with the DCs above already reduced by 2.

Rybar determines that the giant crab has no weakness, so he invents one. His attack with longsword chops the wooden plank of the dock instead.

Bounty #10: Hillcross Roundup
After the competition, somebody hands you over a scroll that looks like it came from, stating that they can personally bring them to the next bounty they found, and thus gave them provision for travel to their next location: to the Realm of the Mammoth Lords, specifically in Hillcross. Together with that scroll is another scroll of a bounty in that place. It writes:
Urgent assistance requested! Young stegosauruses loose!
Help me return them to the wild! Make haste to the
outskirts of town, due west, then south between the two
large boulders. Payment of gold provided in exchange for a
successful roundup.
—Xila of the Green Faith
A few days of uneventful travel and they finally arrive and spend some time in Hillcross. The tent city is damp, and the air thick from a heavy rain that occurred the night before, but is still bustling with activity as folk of all kinds pass through.
At some point somewhere in Hillcross, a tumultuous tapping grabs their attention. A woodpecker is quick at work, affixing a note to a wooden advertisement board. This note is very similar with the one they received from Behind the Mask that is a hastily scribbled message in Common, calling for help in rounding up stegosaurus nestlings just outside the city.
As they read the note, the woodpecker hovers nearby. It looks like it attempts to gently lead them in the direction of Xila and her clutch of dinosaurs.
