Marigold Longfoot |
The world around Marigold becomes a swirl of colors, as everything seems to grow and loom over her. Saplings become trees, birds become rocs, and the mushroom creature before her is now a fungal behemoth.
”Ahhhhhhh!”, she cries out, in a voice that seems much tinier to her. ”Don’t step on me!”
But the fight continues, and though she may be a swirly speck, she is still a fierce speck. She swings at her opponent, hoping to at least distract it.
To the rest of you, this isn’t just a wild trip. Marigold actually shrinks to about 4” tall.

Marigold stabs the seemingly gigantic mushroom to little effect. A pair of gouging claws from Fin-thir and Okh, however, are enough to rip it apart.
With no harm beyond the hallucinations, the Pathfinders can wait for the effects of the spores to wear off and carefully weave through the field of shriekers to reach the cave entrance without setting them off (unless you want to try to disable them?).
The rough walls of the cave lead into a much older structure. The ancient walls have no lighting, and their weathered surfaces hold no identifying iconography. Here and there, walls have collapsed and rubble is scattered about. The cool air carries the slight tinge of a metallic smell.

”Ha! I did it!”, Marigold cries, as the shrooman topples over. Soon afterward, the world returns to its normal size.
