Odelai
At one point this was a room but now the wall and ceiling have crumbled to the ground. Tucked up in the parts of the roof you can see are dozens of sleeping bats. So long as no one bothers them they are not likely to bother any of you. Especially during daytime. It is on the other side of the wall to your left where you pick up a magical essence. A faint abjuration magic.
Odelai perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (19) + 10 = 29

Jenkin Ternham |

Jenkin jerks the other two bottles away from Sir Pounce. He refrains from yelling "Bad Kitty" at the clawed, fanged beast that probably outweighs him by a stone, however. "Enough of that.." he rumbles. "These might fetch a decent price at Jack a' Napes." He stows the liquor bottles (and the sword, since nobody seemed interested) in his backpack and continues back into the north hall following Odelai.
Is anyone compiling a loot list yet?

Odelai the White |

Cool!
Odelai backs out of the ‘bat room’ and closes the door quietly. She then moves down the hall to the first northern door. She checks to see if Jenkin is going to insist on playing ‘meat shield’ yet again.
Perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (11) + 10 = 21 listening at the door
I’m happy to lead the way into the room but I’ll stand aside if Jenkin or someone wants to play scout.

Jenkin Ternham |

Meat shielding is my job!
Jenkin follows down the hall and then steps around Odelai as she presses her ear to the door. He looks down, hand on the knob, and waits for her to signal.
Assuming she doesn't hear something really weird, Jenkin opens the door and heads in.

Jenkin's opens the door which moves easily but there is a notable creak from the abandoned metal henges. A very canine growl comes out of the room. There are two brown furred wolves standing up from under a massive desk where they were probably sleeping.
Just gonna keep the same imitative. No one is surprised so you all have the first chance to act.

Jenkin Ternham |

"Oh, there they are..." Jenkin says, then considers the permutations of the situation and his eyes grow wide. "The wolves can close doors!" Awe-inspiring implications of this fact notwithstanding, he readies himself to receive the first wolf's attack, using the dorway that they so cunningly navigated themselves through as a bottleneck.

A few steps bring the wolf into the doorway. Teeth bared and lunging for the little gnome. But the teeth snap inches from Odelai as the gnome's hair gets a strangle hold at the same time Jenkins axe slam down between its shoulder blades. A strangled whimper escapes as the beast as its eyes roll back and it goes limp in Odelai's grasp.
The other wolf hops onto the ancient desk and lets out a long howl. And then presses themselves against the wall.

Odelai the White |

Odelai has her hair release the wolf – gently – along the wall in the corridor. She looks at Jenkin. ”There is something magic in that room. I’d be happy to leave that wolf alone, if he leaves us alone. Would you like to lead, follow, or neither?”

The brown wolf lets out a yelp as the arrow strikes their back leg. Twist around to look for somewhere to escape. Half watching the cowering wolf and half the room that should be bigger. The magic is coming from the right, beyond the wall. But however, that area can be accessed will have to wait.
The door next to Jenkin's flies open but he is able to just get out of the way and not trip of the corpse at his feet. A big grey furred has burst through the door. Teeth almost snap on the lumberjack's forearm.

The worg missed, so I wasn't exactly being mauled to death quite yet, but the healing is still appreciated!
"Do they die like wolves?" Jenkin asks, making an effort to sound bolder than he might actually feel, given that his main weapons are lying at his feet and he's just holding a bow at point blank range.

Elowen |

Elowen begins a magical chant, drawing a long wicked honey locust thorn, and whispering to it, the tiny barb growing to the size of a javelin in her hand. "Get clear if you can give me a clear shot at it!" she shouts to her companions.

The bow falls to the ground, joining the axes. "Personally..." Jenkin growls, reaching behind his back, "I'll just settle for knocking your brains out of your head." The witch takes the risk and tries to slide past the wolf to search the back rooms. She prepares herself to respond to any aggressive action by the wolf.

Growling at the thwack of the staff but the gnome distracts the Worg, "Leave her alone meat!"
Distracted in a fight is never a good idea and Svetlana sinks her teeth into flesh. Mouth filled with the taste of dirt and wet fur.

Aiming for the jugular and not quiet getting it but she does pull the worgs head down. Just the right angle. If it had been an axe on an executioners block the head would have rolled. Instead, the sword sinks a few inches into the thick neck of the warg. Severing its spine and a 300lbs beast collapses on Svetlana as blood starts to quickly soak though the fur onto the warrior.
The brown wolf lets out a long whine and remains cowering on the desk.

Jenkin Ternham |

"Whoah.." is all Jenkin has to say as Penelope ends the wolf with one hit. "Uh... I think maybe your talents are wasted on that bow, Penny..."

Elowen |

As Penelope outright slays the worg, Elowen relaxes a bit, moving down the hall to join the others, still holding her second javelin, aware of at least one other wolf to possibly deal with.

Penelope Pinch |

"I've never fought with it... really" Penelope is breathing heavily, staring down at the worg, sword still in a two-handed grip. Hunting is one thing, this is different.
But she doesn't shrink for it. "Luck and guidance, that's all it was." she pulls out a rag and cleans the weapon, as Lady Cirthanahas taught. She does look up at Jankin and smiles "Thank you though."
She finally notices the other wolf. "Can we clear the path out and encourage them to run?"

Jenkin Ternham |

Jenkin shrugs, nods, and takes a step back from the doorway to give a frightened wolf room to flee.

Penelope has never tried to convince a wolf of anything, but other canines she has many many times, usually to scratch them until their leg went nuts.
She tries the same motions with open palms, and utterly useless clucking. Why clucking? Who knows, Penelope certainly doesn't, but she does it anyway.

Pressing closer against the wall and watching Penelope do the crazy thing. Approaching a wounded wild animal who is backed into a corner. Rapidly looking around before dark eyes settle on the nearly severed head of the grey worg. Glancing over at Odelai then back to Penelope. Penelope's heart breaks for the wounded animal. All alone suddenly, because of them.

Growling when the arrow is touched and yelping when its removed. But that soothing magical light washes away the pain. Tilting her head and starring at one of Erastil's children. Penelope, you get the feeling the wolf realizes you mean her no harm. Hopping off the desk and looking around again. Not moving until Penelope moves. But the wolf can be lead outside if you wish.

Penelope Pinch |

Penelope's spirits are lifted when the wolf recovers. "We persist and persevere, don't we girl?"
Rolling on the floor with belly rubs is probably too much to ask for, so Penelope looks to the others, "I'll take her outside and give her the rest of my dried meat rations, then be back. Just a minute or two..." she looks to the four-legged cute (but Wild) Predator (don't forget that part, Penny!).
Pulling a stray lock over her pointed ear, she amends "... well, maybe more like five, then I will be back and we can go on."
If no one objects, she leads the wolf outside and does what she declares.

Elowen |

Elowen watches, impressed as Penny interacts with the wolf as easily as if she were a native of the wilds herself.

The wolf trots alongside the paladin. Down the hall and over the rubble. Fully intent on leaving until the dried meats are produced. Glancing at Penelope and then the food before grabbing as much as she can fit into her mouth and running off.
If any of the rest of you are doing anything in the few minutes of peace lemme know.
While Penelope deals with the last wolf Odelai spends her time messing with the odd part of the wall. Gotta be an odd stone or a secret lever. It was a rock of course. Pushes in and then the wall swings back and not very quietly. Whatever mechanism that still allows it to move is likely rusted.
But it reveals a short corridor with a wall of bars running down one side. Four rusted doors open in this wall into four cramped cells.
A skeletal hand reaches around the doorframe. Quickly followed but a thick boned skeleton. Strips of fabric hand from blood stained bones. Fingers held together by lingering ligaments swing at Odelia but her height is a boon here and she ducks under both swings. And there are more behind this first one.
