You are aboard a Starfinder starship ferrying you to your next mission - a mission for which you do not yet have any details…

Please go ahead and introduce yourselves to each other at your convenience! We'll officially kick off on March 6.

A towering figure squeezes through the doorway of the waiting room, wearing an unfamiliar uniform that is mostly white but with some red trim, and a helmet completely obscuring her face. There is an oversized sword strapped to her back. More than three meters tall, she stands ominously above the agents as she lifts her hands to remove the headgear.

"Have any of you seen a skittermander around here?" she says in a tone that is more annoyed than threatening as her ursine features are revealed. "Red fur, about yay high -" she holds her paws barely apart at all "- uniform like mine, but blue. IPPY!" She yells out into the hallway. "Runt thinks that because he can form the head, he can just party with yetis until all hours of the night. Well, we'll see what you can do next time when THE ROBOT DOESN'T HAVE ITS SWORD ARM!"

Having exhausted her fury, she glances at the room, finds no appropriate chairs, and sighs as she leans against the wall and set her helmet on the table. "So I guess I'm here to watch everyone's backs. And fronts. Whatever side needs it. Name's Keyona."

"Well met, Keyona." an ysoki croaks from his chair, briefly looking up from his communication device. He is easy to overlook in the room: Even for an ysoki he's small and bony, hunched over, and with a prominent white muzzle- Certainly not what someone might look for in an adventurer.

He leans back in his seat with a groan, squinting at the bear.
She's large. Is it just me, or are the newest generations getting taller and taller? He muses to himself, straightening his AbadarCorp branded office shirt Oh well, more to hide behind, if things get hairy.

"Ca Blank." He introduces himself, holding a tiny shriveled hand up "Here to keep things- and people- together, I guess."

"Nice to meet you both." The purple haired android who just entered the room says. She wears a black lab coat covered in vials, pockets, and other tools. She also wears a backpack that has an eyeball on the end of a tentacle sticking out of it. The tentacle looks inquisitively around the room.

"My job is to keep you all alive and hopefully not in pain." She gives a bright smile. "My name is Delikie." She turns her head to look at the tentacle, before it ducks back in the bag.

Another figure enters the room.

Kaath crosses both pair of arms.

I bring the greetings of the Cosmos to you. I have not ventured forth on a mission for a bit of time. Our meeting here and now cannot be considered a coincidence.

Keeping alive is good. Do you do much data studying in the healing arts then? I am more attuned to meditation myself. Kaath Novaflame is my name.

A sleek feline-like person glides in. She breezily greets everyone, waiting for an assignment.

After about a week of travel, you drop out of the drift and rendezvous with the Exemplarion, a luxury space-yacht that far outshines the ship you arrived in. You recognize the ship as belonging to an elebrian media mogul named Zo!. Once aboard, you’re given a brief tour of the large craft’s six decks, casino, spa, trio of restaurants, and other extravagant amenities that accommodate the hundreds of guests on board. After a while, a skeletal assistant approaches and escorts you to what appears to be a production studio on Decks 4 and 5.

The studio is a large, multi-tiered auditorium with an immense window that looks out over what appears to be a moon labeled as Salvation’s End on a heads up display. Dozens of professionals rush about the studio, adjusting lights, testing holographic displays, pulling
clothes from wheeled wardrobes, cleaning the hundreds of tiered seats, and more. Zo! Himself sits on the stage with the Starfinder Society’s First Seeker, Luwazi Elsebo, animatedly
telling a story while Luwazi marvels at the ongoing activity. When the First Seeker spots you, she waves for you to walk down the aisles and join them. Assistants immediately rush out with additional chairs to accommodate your arrival.

“Yes. Yes! You’re everything I was hoping for,” exclaims the undead showman while looking over the new arrivals. “Oh, Luwazi, you’ve truly outdone yourself. They’re so exciting, so energized, so—”

“—alive?” finishes a ghast woman wearing well-tailored clothing as she steps onto the stage. Zo! frowns at the blunt observation and tries to respond, but Luwazi intervenes.

“Starfinders, no doubt this is all happening a little fast, so let me explain. After the Scoured Stars incident, the Society struggled to support new expeditions. I reached out to numerous people and organizations for grant money, and our host was eager to help. He financed more than a dozen missions, including the one to Salvation’s End. There was one big catch.” Zo! visibly bounces in his seat with excitement as Luwazi continues. “If we found anything especially exciting, we’d need to cease exploration long enough for him to get a film crew out there to document whatever we found next. Well, Salvation’s End may look like a moon, but our initial survey of it found there’s something built inside—the whole thing might be artificial. That qualifies as especially exciting, but that was also several months ago.”

The skeletal mogul waves his hands. “Oh, but Luwazi, I couldn’t just send a single crew. No, the Starfinder Society’s greatest triumph deserves far more production value.” He hops up from his chair and gazes out at the moon as he paces and gesticulates. “Imagine: heroes from the Pact World, a mysterious planetoid, untold secrets, limitless adventure—all broadcast before a live audience in our greatest production yet!” He spins to look back at the group, his lipless mouth smiling gleefully. [/b]“Live Exploration Extreme!”[/b]

The ghast claps politely before interjecting. “To translate, you’re scheduled to explore part of Salvation’s End accompanied by a professional camera crew and production team. You will find exciting things and be thoroughly entertaining. Any questions?”

Zo! takes a moment to introduce the ghast, ”And this beautiful lady is Wazasha Kevir, my associate producer. She will accompany you during your exploration to take care of the details - supervising the film crew, pacing the event, capturing your untimely deaths in excruciating detail… No! No! That was just a joke, mostly!”

Okay, now is the time to ask any questions! Fire away!

If your character has the High Society Influence (Zo!) social boon (from 1-05), then you’re encouraged to equip it. Also, if you have the Claimant to Salvation boon (from 1-00) on any character, then let me know!

Blank recoils for a moment at the news, but calms down immediately at seeing the undead crew- At least it's not all young and pretty people like it is in most films and reality shows. Feeling somewhat comforted, he runs a hand through his fur, squinting in thought.

It's better than I expected. And the Society said it was easy, we have a doctor on board too, apparently... Hopefully it pays like it should.

The thought brings him to a realization, and he lifts his hand to ask a question "Royalties. Do we get royalties on subsequent runs, redistributions, and physical releases? Also, are we supposed to keep the camera crew safe, or will they be able to fend for themselves?"

I earned Claimant to Salvation with you, though I was a musical rat at the time.

"Man, Ippy is going to be sorry he missed this. Sometimes we have to remind him why we hired him. The arms and legs do all the work, anyway.

"I don't suppose you're going to give us any intel about the place we're headed before we touch down? More entertaining for us to go in blind, I suppose?"

"What'll happen if we die during the mission? Will you have a claim to the body?"

Luwazi explains, “I hired a team to perform a surface survey, and it was they who discovered a hatch that led much deeper into its interior. We also know that a tribe of goblins calling themselves the Exhaust Drinkers live on the surface, and we’ve clashed with them in the past. Most recently, we undertook a concerted effort to clear the tribe out from our landing facility on the moon’s surface. The moon’s gravity will feel about normal, but we’ve detected that the gravity is artificially maintained and even seems to reorient itself in some areas.”

"What'll happen if we die during the mission? Will you have a claim to the body?"

Zo! perks up at the thought, "We will gladly accept any donations of dead corpses! All donated bodies will be properly reused in the most tastefully commercial manner possible!!"

Luwazi quickly interrupts, "Donations aside, if you die during the mission, your resources may be used for body recovery and resurrection as is standard with any other Starfinder mission. IF you wish to donate your body in lieu of resurrection, however, then that is your decision."

Luwazi replies, "No royalties. All rights to the show are owned by Zo! including royalties and revenues associated with future syndication, rereleases and so on."

Wazasha's long tongue slithers back into her mouth as she addresses the camera crew query. "The film crew will take care of themselves, all of whom are undead. And as we are an Eoxian-based corporation in compliance with Pact Worlds production standards. I trust this won’t be a problem? I was told you are professionals."

Once all questions are answered, the party will have the opportunity to buy equipment before the exploration begins, so feel free to decide now (or a bit later) if you want to make any purchases.

Sorry, this was very familiar, I wanted to check if I had played it before...but do not see it on any character.

Kaath listens to the briefing. By the Cosmos, this comes as a singular point in time which may have looped. But I have a feeling I have been here and should be here and will be here again.

He shakes his head. Not a problem. We are indeed professionals.

Purrfecta smiles, ready for anything.

"Speaking of the crew, let's introduce you to them while you think up any other questions," says Wazasha. "Aside from myself, there will be a production team and a camera team joining you."

"This is the production team," says Wazasha as she gestures your attention to a group of consisting of two ghouls, two androids, and a hexapodal robot, that carries refreshments, portable seats, makeup, a bubble projector, a pair of heavy-duty broadcast relays, and other equipment necessary to keep the operation running.

"And that's the camera crew," Wazasha then directs your attention to another team of 10 undead who are bristling with holocord cameras, boom microphones, reflective screens to amplify natural lighting, and other equipment for properly recording any live action scenes in several multimedia broadcast formats.

Images of the camera crew revealed in the slides! Note that during combat encounters, the camera crew will also take up space on maps. There are two rules for the camera crew: 1) moving through their squares count as difficult terrain, and 2) your characters cannot end a turn in the same square as a camera crew.

Zo! states, "Remember, none of the crew will get involved with any of your adventuring. They're under strict orders!!"

The crew nods in acquiescence to Zo! but also greet you warmly. Apparently, non-interference with your upcoming expedition doesn't mean they cannnot interact with you when the cameras aren't rolling.

"Everyone, take a look at the robot with the bubble projector." says Wazasha. "At regular intervals, I'll be holding individual interviews with you in a booth set up by the robot. This is a very important part of the live show where you'll share your thoughts, opinions and insights to the audience as we progress."

Another slide has been revealed with additional game mechanics "The Booth" and "Fan Favor". Please read through them and have a think about how your character wants to portray themselves during this live show! Also another slide has been unveiled that we'll use to track every character's fan favor.

With introductions made, Luwazi asks all of you, "Any other questions? Also, Zo!'s ship here is fully stocked with all sorts of equipment should you need to make any purchases."

Okay, we still have time for more questions and shopping. Anyone?

Knew it. Abadar bless, they're always trying to scam the workers these days. ugh.

He grumbles something intelleggible to himself and shakes his head in disappointment. "Oh well, as long as we're getting paid something. The crew is not going to be a problem if they don't make themselves a problem."

He strokes his neck fur again in thought at the mention of the booth, but doesn't say much about it, eyebrows knitted together
Well, if anything, my name will be out there. Best look interesting, then.

Blank will mostly be grouchy and stubborn xD The booth is such a funny idea! Also I love the one skeleton crewman with sunglasses and I'm gonna consider them as canon

"Whelp, I have a feeling this's going to go horribly wrong. Or entertainingly wrong."
Delikie is going to be snarky, talkative, and a bit cynical. Nice photos for the camera crew by the way. I wonder how the one living guy feels working with all undead collogues.

Keyona fondly remembers a gaggle of juvenile gnolls climbing over her and calling her "Aunt Key". She decides to play this up and be the "team mom" on this expedition as well. She stops by the commissary to get snacks for everyone (the trail mix with M&Ms - got to be fun and healthy!) and makes sure everybody's armor is clean and they use the head before they leave.

No idea what skill would be appropriate for this. Intimidate is her only trained charisma skill, but yeah. Medicine to treat boo-boos? Athletics to be a Russian dancing bear?

Kaath looks upon the undead crew with skepticism.

By the Cosmos, this appears to lack the dignity these fallen deserve.

He readies himself for the journey.

Will we need to provide any recording equipment ourselves, or the crew manages all of their own equipment, transportation, power, et cetera?

Purrfecta just shakes her head. She needs nothing.

He jerked a little at hearing that they were accepting donations of dead bodies, suddenly rather nervous about this whole thing. He supposed it was just like the vidgames he played in his free time that brought in a bit of extra money but he did not really think he'd be part of them in real life. He was especially uneasy around all these undead, nearly yelping when one got to close, his eye twitching as he kept on eye on them.

By the Cosmos, this appears to lack the dignity these fallen deserve.

Overhearing Kaath, one of the ghoulish camera crew members saunters over and says, "Y'know, I chose to become undead. When I was alive, I realized that working a camera was my life's calling. But as I got older, these things felt heavier and heavier. Threw my back out a few times and the docs said, 'Bob, ya gotta stop and retire. That or head over to Eox for everlasting life, ha!' Them docs were jokin' but I wasn't. Now I get to do what I love for as long as I want - pain free!"

He puts his hand out to Kaath for a handshake, "My name's Bob, put it there pal! This camera crew has been through quite a bit and WOOBOY! do we got stories! Extraplanar apocalypse documentaries! Cutthroat vampire gameshows with spellgems of daylight! Arena contests between hobgoblin in-laws! Sit down for a break sometime and we'll spin you a tale!"

Seeing how twitchy he is, whenever Twitch isn't looking, a few members of the undead crew take a few steps closer and closer to him until Twitch freaks out and moves away, upon which they stop and chuckle to themselves.

Wazasha glances down at her wrist-mounted holoscreen and announces you're all an hour away from starting. She ushers you out of the auditorium toward a dressing room. There, she states, "Please ensure you have all the equipment you require. If you need to purchase anything, now is the time to speak up."

She then calls in a squad of makeup artists to ensure you're all looking your best.

I'll take another pause here in case anyone else has more questions or other interactions before moving along.

Once everyone is ready, you pile into a clean shuttle with Wazasha for the 15-minute voyage to the false moon’s surface.

During the ride, Zo!'s special effects team plays an opening montage that you can view on various screens to build the live audience's excitement. You're able to follow along on the local infosphere (connected to Zo!'s space yacht), even seeing overly dramatic renditions of your personal bios to introduce viewers to the show’s stars.

Upon arrival, you find several other Starfinders repairing a starship dock. The dock is in the process of being retrofitted into a more permanent structure, and some of the Starfinder Society repair crew casually explain that the location might become a new lodge depending on your findings. The repair crew then guides you to a heavy hatch deeper in the facility, beyond which lie dark tunnels that lead deep below the surface.

As you traverse down the tunnels, you find broken and incomplete robots and drones of unknown design at irregular intervals along the worn steel hallways. Almost every light fixture is broken or malfunctioning, making the 15-foot-tall tunnels dark but for the occasional, haunting flicker of light from the distance. In the few places where it seems signage once hung, someone has purposefully defaced or removed the analog signs and torn out any digital displays.

Wazasha encourages, ”Please, don’t hesitate to voice aloud what you’re thinking or observing for our audience!”

As you continue down into the depths, you find a midden containing both refuse and excrement!

”What IS that?” Wazasha asks Kaath, apparently choosing him at random. One of the cameras immediately shine upon Kaath, expecting a knowledgeable response.

As each of you investigate any (of the above) phenomena, the camera crew eagerly presses in to document your every movement, action and discovery.

Delikie examines the signs.

He turns to Purrfecta as he runs a hand over the metal walls, squinting "Nothing I've seen either. Might be an indipendent designer, but it seems unlikely that a small company would have the means to construct an entire moon, and even then it would have similarities of some kind- A different civilization we haven't met perhaps?"

He hums to himself in thought.

His closer inspection is interrupted by Wazasha. He bristles for a moment, then turns to the midden, wrinkling his nose

"It's just goblin crap" He grumbles, immediately taking some steps back. "Fresh too, I can smell it from here. Stench goes deeper down in the tunnels as well. Ugh. Pests."

There really isn't another way. Make your rolls, then edit your post to reflect the results. The boards don't usually change them on you...

"Looks like Ippy's cockpit in there, though maybe a little worse smelling."

The Cosmos has decided this stench belongs here. I wish we were not here to tolerate it.

”If by the will of the Cosmos the stench were to need to come from me, then who am I to try and defy the grand ordering. “

He looks around as if confronting his reality

”But in this case, the Cosmos has determined the stench precede us on our timeline to this location.“

when it comes to skills with science computers or engine in the title, Kaath has no clue. However if mysticism is your problem , he’s your guy.

The moment Purrfecta speaks, three cameras swing in her direction, capturing her every word! Two more zoom in for a closeup on Blank Ca as he identifies goblin excrement.

The infosphere feed full of live audience posts shows activity!

"Are you sure that stench isn't coming from you Kaath?"

Suddenly, an explosion shakes the walls and echoes from ahead. Without missing a beat, the camera crew immediately fans out to record your reactions!!

(How do each of you react for the cameras, if at all?)

As you proceed down the tunnel, due to poor lighting conditions, the camera crew turn their lights brighter.
This results in bright light in a 30-foot radius around each camera crew and normal light for 30 feet beyond that.

A short while later, you come across... SURPRISE! Goblins! And some kind of creature resembling a large, six-legged armadillo with compound eyes, iridescent banded armor plates, heavy digging claws, and a pair of rasping tongues. (So... not really an armadillo.) They spot you and immediately attack!!! But somehow, the camera crew reacts first and gets into the best possible positions to capture the action!

Also, Purrfecta, Kaath and Twitch, per slide 3, now is your last chance to specify a word or two to associate with your character's persona during this live reality show - otherwise, I'll pick something for you!

When she hears the explosion, Keyona rushes in front of the Starfinders and Zo!'s crew, ready to take the brunt of the blast. Fortunately, it seems that the force was contained elsewhere. She draws her sword and yells, "Behind me!" as she rushes toward the sound.

When reaching the room with the fauxmadillo, she shoves the camera crew aside - "Watch out, dears, this probably isn't safe for you." - and toward the enemy. Despite her enhanced speed, she can still only interpose herself between two of them and the rest of the team.

"Don't you kids know it's not safe to play with fire? You might hurt yourself! Or someone else! And if you don't behave, I may have to give you a spanking!"

Purrfecta moves forward and shoots at the strange creature.

”The Cosmos finds it amusing to provide a video record of our actions. I feel a distraction and the entertainment value of the conflict is questionable at best.“

He immediately calls forth a bit of solar energy to his hand and strides to the closest foe to attack if he can reach it.

But he is blinded by a stray camera light.

Keyona is in the middle of a wall, so I've moved you over a bit so as not to be on the wall. The yellow goblin is technically in another room although the 'doorways' are open - there are no actual doors there obstructing line of sight.

Keyona boldly rushes forward, intent on protecting everyone - even the camera crew!

Purrfecta fires at the armadillo-like creature and although the attack lands, it does no damage and instead reflects off the creature's iridescent shell back at Purrfecta in a ray of blinding light!

Kaath calls upon the solar mysteries to form a weapon and mvoes forward!!
I've moved Kaath's token forward by 30 feet towards the nearest enemy which puts him next to Purrfecta. But if Kaath wishes to double move this round, then that will put him below the armadillo creature's token.
