"There! I think I got all that toffee out. Seriously, who eats at the controls? And toffee?! Usually that's served in bite-sized pieces, so there's no reason for it to be in the controls!" It seems Anock is leaning so hard into her excuse for failing last time that she may talk herself into actually believing her tall tale.

Pockets aim is true. The shot hits. The platform fizzles and shuts down. The drones power down and drift in space motionless.
Combat over
Searching the debris the Starfinders find part of its tracking system.
While old, it contains some unique algorithms that current Society
starship designers might find interesting.

The Starfinders guide their ship to Elytrio and slow down as they approach the planet.
The House |
See, The House says, this is why you never bet against the House. I have to specifically call out Pockets for the leadership qualities he has shown guiding us through this challenging engagement. I believe we have now amply discouraged the weapons system from providing further impairment to progress, so our approach is free to make contact with the no-doubt nutrient rich soil of the surface!
Switch Pockets |
"Great job everyone, Here's your well earned drinks. I'd like to make a toast to never betting against The House, a vesk in combat, nice shooting Kuon. Anock great job flying the ship, and thank you Quig for making our shots count more."[/b]
Pockets raise his glass and drinks.
"Now I need to do a safety inspection to see how many unauthorized modifications new sustained."
Pockets take out a wrench and start working on repairs, checking each one off on his safety list as it's done.

"Quig can you give me a hand with the shields?"
When alone with Quig so rest of the crew can't hear. Pockets looks up the crew list on his datapad.
"I didn't see you on the crew list. One ysoki to another, I'm not going to ask how you snuck on the ship, whatever gets the job done. Glad you showed up when you did. I just altered the crew records to include you and got you on the payroll too."
Anock |
"Yes, yes. Great job not letting some drones kill us, everyone. I'm not interested in smelling space during my last moment alive. Now! It's time to thoroughly clean that console!" Anock tosses back her drink quickly, without letting any part of her mouth touch the glass, and begins sanitizing the pilot's workstation while everyone else helps with repairs.
Upon approaching the planet, Anock tries to guess at what sorts of environments to expect there.
She's looking for colors, textures, landmasses/seas/clouds, etc.
"Where should we touch down? Can anyone do a scan to see where the technological centers are?"
Switch Pockets |
While checking the sensors for damage, Pockets scans the plant as a test and looks for a landing place or other information.

"Yes, yes. Great job not letting some drones kill us, everyone. I'm not interested in smelling space during my last moment alive.
You know what they say: 'In space, no-one can smell your stink!' The House crudely says, without trying to be crude.
"I didn't see you on the crew list. One ysoki to another, I'm not going to ask how you snuck on the ship, whatever gets the job done. Glad you showed up when you did. I just altered the crew records to include you and got you on the payroll too."
See, it says here: 'Transport consultant'. That sounds about right, doesn't it? The House says, always ready to lend a helping hand.
Kuon Firecleaver |
Kuon glares at the weapons station. "What kind of shooting was that?!" the vesk furiously berates himself at his somewhat poor showing. It takes a few minutes but the soldier is able to shake himself.
"I need more practice. Anyway, what do we do next?"

As the ship enters Elytrio’s atmosphere, the computer blares out "Warning large powerful force field surrounding the city. It extends to
a half-mile radius around it. Suitable landing site nearby"

You exit the ship and trudge toward the nearest edge of the force field.

Switch Pockets |
Pockets switches his name tag back to "SAFETY INSPECTOR." Before heading out, Pockets check to ensure the planet's atmosphere is safe to breathe. Then grabs his datapad as he steps out to have a look outside.

Anock |
"Excellent. Good to know." Anock follows behind Pockets, assuming he's got everything under control and she doesn't have to do anything now that she's landed the ship after doing all that piloting work. (Well, okay, that's not entirely true. The others helped some. And she does glance around a little bit.)

It's the ground, and it's on the right side of our feet. Do any of you have a good ol' dosimeter. We'd want to make sure the traces of radiation are just that, because I like my limb count just the way it is!
Anything we can do with the ship's scanners?
Anock |
"My radiation badge will warn me before I am exposed to radiation. Did you pick one up before we left? If not, I suggest you follow me carefully." Anock holds her head high (it's self respect, not snootiness!) as she continues walking.

With a clicking noise that evokes clicking one's tongue, Anock flicks her wrists slightly. A faint cloud spreads around and in front of her, spreading to fill some of the space between the group and the cat-thing. Almost lazily, she pulls out her azimuth laser pistol. "Don't wet yourself, Pockets. It's outnumbered, and we have guns."
Two move actions. The area that her nanite Cloud Array takes up is marked in blue. Right now it affects nothing, so you can act like it's not there, or RP the heck out of it.

Anock |
"Well, we have to work with what we've got. Just calm down. Panicking makes you miss." Anock casually shifts her Cloud Array as the cat prowls around the group, then steps out of Kuon's shadow to fire at the hungry cat-thing.

It's easy to act cocky when you haven't even tried shooting it and it hasn't tried attacking yet. That's not good. Anock gets a sudden sinking feeling that she's going to be eating her words soon, and the bitterness will linger.
If Anock's attitude is bothering anyone, let me know. I'll adjust so everyone can enjoy the game. :)

As she rearranges her Cloud Array (move action), she uses a Nanite Surge (swift action) to give Kuon a bit of a boost. "You're not dead yet, Kuon!" Then she steps to the side to shoot at the cat-thing again.
