Quinoline would also advocate exploring the upper level, to make sure the area is secure for whoever comes here next.

That's one vote for explore, one for leave, and one unclear. Next person to chime in decides.

Teja is more than happy to explore upstairs.

cmlobue |

Upstairs we go! Random closets, empty rooms, etc. revealed without comment.

The room has little in terms of extravagant comforts, but everything is neatly organized. The bed is carefully made, although a thin layer of dust suggests that it has not been used in some time. A few sheets of paper covered in fresh ink rest on the scriptorium next to the door, along with a lovingly crafted silver amulet and a weathered leather-bound journal.
The ghost appears somewhat uncomfortable with your searching the room.
Papers found in the room on >Slide 8<.
There is a silver amulet has the words “Ardis Scholars” on one side and the group’s motto “To Learn, To Understand, To Embrace” on the other in the desk.

This beautiful bedroom is adorned with deep greens accentuated by a few golden decorations. The only surviving painting adorning the wall is made in typical Ustalavic style with dark colors and just a hint of light. A blood trail ends next to an open metal case containing medical gear near the bed.
When you enter, you see three creatures that look like a cross between bird and human rummaging through the items within. They do not appear hostile, but the one near the bed shouts, "These are ours! Get away!" as you approach.

"Ha! So this is your house then? I don't think so! Now get out of here at once before I decide to get stabby." Astrid lightly taps the hilt of her sword for emphasis.

intimidate-coerce: 1d20 + 23 ⇒ (10) + 23 = 33
Astrid has group coercion and quick coerce so she can coerce up to 10 people with a single check in a single round

The creatures study Astrid a moment. "Not your house either! But we leave if you give us something better."

"I think what my friend here is saying is that she believes we can find a mutually beneficial solution. Some of these artifacts may be dangerous; we're equipped to handle them. We're also very resourceful - if you tell us what you're looking for, we can help you find what you're looking for."
Are they looking for objects, or locations, or people? Can we find what they're looking for elsewhere?

The creatures appear to be looting, which is something most Pathfinders would be able to easily recognize, for no particular reason. One of them holds up a box. "This is good stuff! Have something better than this to trade?"

So coerce didn't work?

"Desist from your vandalism. Redemption for your misdeeds is nigh." Gripping his halberd, he continues, "We can stop you, if you force us to, but, stopping yourselves will be a step in your personal redemption."

"Are you after maybe something like this?" asks Teja.
She takes out one of her healing potions and offers it to the creatures.

![]() |

Teja, save your healing potions - Quinoline can make elixirs of life from daily reagents.
Quinoline will craft a moderate elixir of life (5d6+12) and offer it.

cmlobue |

Coerce did as much as it could here.
The creatures decide that a potion in hand is worth two in the box and accept the Pathfinders' gift, then fly out the window and away.
The medical box contains two moderate healing potions, a set of major clockwork goggles, a traveler’s any-tool, two greater antidotes, and a few letters thanking the Scholars for providing experimental cures, freeing a house from haunts, or creating medical devices.
Conclusion tomorrow.

The Pathfinders leave the manor behind, escorting Revecka, Gleam and Lumna back to the Lodestar. Evni, Ziri and Kamenya are eager to hear everything you have to say. They wait only somewhat patiently for the group's report before peppering the all of you with questons - Ziri about Lumna’s planet and Kamenya about their experience.
Evni is also thrilled to talk to Revecka. She assures Revecka that the Pathfinder Society will provide the alchemical reagents needed to keep her
heart beating, and the Society has numerous researchers who would be interested in collaborating with her.
This concludes Signal from the Electric Laboratory! Feel free to continue roleplaying or asking any questions you may have about the scenario. The story continues in 4-11: Prisoners of the Electric Castle.
Also, you are all free to send your characters to PaizoCon or wherever else you may want to play them.

Quinoline offers everyone a high five, except for Astrid, who gets a polite handshake, because Astrid nearly dislocated Quinoline's shoulder last time they did a high five.
