Alfonse, already familiar, offers Angel some friendly advice.
Computers to Aid: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17
"Yo, don't mess this up."

Game Master S |

Angel gets it no problem.
Runo is grateful to everyone who helped him with his datapad. “Keep your eye out on your way back to Ship’s End,” he tells you. “I’d heard some people talk of goblins out there, but I didn’t think much of it. If you’re right, and they’re the ones who hacked my files, well, I don’t know what they’re up to, but it’s criminal, that’s for sure.”
Runo won’t be paid for this delivery until you complete the sale on Akiton. As soon as you sign to confirm that you’ve taken possession of the Yaro berries, you can load the cargo onto their cargo rig. There are 50 tons of Yaro berries packed into 50-lb. sealed crates in the back of the distribution center, and you can load them onto their Company rig using their hovercarts. This task takes 16 hours of labor, but with two hovercarts, cut that time in half.
Runo meets briefly with you before you depart. “Siski will give you a fair price for this shipment,” he tells you. “She runs Ka Imports in Hivemarket. You tell her I sent you! We go way back.”

Game Master S |

Since you helped Runo with his datapad, he slides another crate of Yaro berries you way from the store shelves. “Ship rations can get pretty stale on a long Drift,” he says with a smile. “Courtesy of Prat’s Produce. You could probably fetch 500 creds for these on the market if you sell them though.”
For helping Runo Prat fix his datapad the party earns 400 XP.

Aldo Cygnaurius |

"Runo, may I call you Runo? We appreciateyour generosity and are looking forward to making this delivery, but what do you mean goblins are hacking into your files? What exactly are these devils doing to you?"

Game Master S |

Runo ignores the first of Aldo's questions, and jumps to the second, [b]"I don't know. Angel is the one who found it.
Kaz works quickly and efficiently.

Chip the Android |
2 people marked this as a favorite. |

Chip lowers his hood, and stands motionless for a beat. Then, a whirring sound comes from...his head. The top portion of his head, as well as (apparently) a bit of his upper spine, pops up and away from the rest of his body, having been held there by now-visible finger-like clips. Once away from his body, the...object immediately begins whirring louder, as some sort of fan-type device fully engages. The object hovers in the air and begins circling lazily.
Chip then removes a rectangular block from his chest area, which he then flips open with a strange chirping sound. The android deftly taps the object in his hand, apparently directing the flying drone, because it beings moving with more apparent purpose.
My drone will assist in any remote manipulation necessary. I'll also keep it active as we return to the ship, as a scout against these possible goblins.
Chip then sets to work with Kaz loading the cargo.

Aldo Cygnaurius |

"Runo, our top priority will be to get this fruit to the Hivemarket in Akiton safely and quickly. I will be sure to give Siski your regards. Afterwards, if we can catch those goblins and put and end to their mischievous, we will. Where do you want me to sign to confirm that we are taking possession of the fruit?"
As the crew working to load up the cargo, Aldo moves around giving encouraging words and helps them organize themselves to be as efficient as possible.
"Chip, as an android do you require rest or are you able to work endlessly?"
"Alf, I appreciate how fast you are able to drive the hovercraft, but we don't want any spillage here in the warehouse. Slow it down, especially around those corners."
"Angel, thanks for your help with Runo Prat's tablet. I appreciate those skills you are bringing to the team."
"Kaz, I have been warned of space goblins operating on the route to Ship's End. Let's keep our eyes wide open. Let me know if something seems out place."
Diplomacy to Inspire the Crew: 1d20 + 8 + 1d6 ⇒ (11) + 8 + (4) = 23
"Well done, everyone. I think we are nearly ready to depart for Akiton. Let's load up the last of those units and start the pre-flight checks."

Kazador Agudo Garrez |

My drone will assist in any remote manipulation necessary. I'll also keep it active as we return to the ship, as a scout against these possible goblins.
Chip then sets to work with Kaz loading the cargo.
Kaz gives Chip a nod of thanks as the android starts moving cargo. Your little Flier, is it... The vesk pauses and seems to hunt for the word. Its hard to tell if thats just how his brain works or if maybe he still isn't 100% comfortable speaking in Common. ... Smart? How does it identidy an "enemy"? He emphasizes the word enemy. The vesk warrior knows that AI's decision making skills in a complex environment don't always work well. Can you see what it sees?

Angel. |

Angel mutters to herself that if it wasn't for those damned goblins she would have been able to siphon money out of this chump's account for years to come.
"Glad to be of help, boss! Nothing I like better than helping out an honest fruit merchant."

Kazador Agudo Garrez |

Kazador does his best to keep an eye out for trouble while moving crates and cargo. He is glad the hover drone is keeping watch.
Hey DM. Im assuming we are free to walk around visibly armed? Kaz has a heavy weapon, its 3 bulks by itself. Is that kosher? What percentage of locals are carrying? Mostly small pistols? And what about local LE/security? Are they militaristic? Or more lightly armed old school British Bobby? Kaz would totally be paying attention to this.

Alfonse Vizzini |

Alfonse slows down so that the other driver can keep up, knowing he’d never spill a thing while driving. He does take the chance to sample a single berry, just to test that they were, indeed, fresh and tasty.
’good thing I like money more than good food.’ he thinks as he samples.

Game Master S |

Kaz has been around. Open carry is the norm pretty much everywhere except in diplomatic and polite settings. People are mostly packing pistols and the occasional sword. There are less visible weapons here on planet as the locals often have magic and psi abilities. He sees that the security here is light, as crime in Qabarat is rare. A fantasy equivalent: you're in the Elven capital of the world and mages are common.
The city is a constant buzz. Spacecraft hum in nearby docking facilities and zoom overhead while merchants and crowds of tourists chatter; the rumbling engine of the cargo rig below merges seamlessly into the urban symphony. As the spaceport comes back into view, up ahead, an old woman pushing a cart across the street yelps in alarm as her cart tips over and rusty tanks of petrol tumble out, scattering in every direction. Traffic stops and drivers in nearby vehicles shout, but the old woman ignores them. Instead, she walks slowly to one of the rolling tanks, picks it up, and carefully cradles it in her arms as she returns to the fallen cart.
Perception checks you proles!

Chip the Android |

"Chip, as an android do you require rest or are you able to work endlessly?"
Unfortunately, no. I do still have organic components. In fact, you could think of me as... Chip pauses a beat. His head tilts ever so slightly to one side, but his expression remains as neutral as ever. His voice drops a bit, and he picks up a bit of a strange accent a cybernetic organism--living tissue integrated with metal infrastructure. His voice returns to normal. My organic components do require very similar upkeep to any other being you would consider "living:" food, sleep, and evacuation of waste.
...Can you see what it sees?
An excellent question! No, I cannot directly access its sensors, but it does communicate with me at a high enough speed to make it seem like I can. It is an artificial intelligence--in fact, it shares some of my own random access memory. I'm still working on getting its sensors more perceptive; at this point, it can't even see in the dark, like I can! That's a good goal to work toward, though. That and a camera so that I CAN "see through its eyes"

Game Master S |

Despite not really paying attention Kaz catches (as does Chip) that it's no old woman.... it's a Junk Bot! there's something really fishy going on right now.
As the party catches the junkbot, it reconfigures one of its hands into a cube for smashing!

Stay and obey the law, risking the pay off or GTFO since you know the killing was fine.

actually...can one of us DRIVE a bike??
