Are we rolling HP or half + 1?
2nd lvl Swashbuckler
HP + 8 (probably)= 6 + 1 con + 1 FC
+ 1 BAB, + 1 Ref,
Charmed Life (Ex) At 2nd level, the swashbuckler gains a knack for getting out of trouble. Three times per day as an immediate action before attempting a saving throw, she can add her Charisma modifier to the result of the save. She must choose to do this before the roll is made. At 6th level and every 4 levels thereafter, the number of times she can do this per day increases by one (to a maximum of 7 times per day at 18th level).
Skills: + 1 Acrobatics, bluff, Intimidate, Knowledge (nobility), Perception and Sense Motive,
in case were rolling: 1d10 ⇒ 10

Honestly, other than PC magic twinkle, nobody's got a reason to get Drek Raised/reincarnated. That doesn't bother me. PC loss is supposed to be a real threat.
I'm good either way.
When I mentioned roles earlier, the one rely suggestedci wasn't understood. Some examples roles are healbot, knowledgebot, dps, wall, status clearing, buffer, battlefield control, blaster, and on and on.
Drek is a knowledgebot with some healing/buffing.
That's what I was talking about. With 1 primary role of that sort I have many options on how to get there.
But, again, I'm good with you working to restore Drek, or not. Either can be made to work.
Tacitus Freeling |
I’m good either way but it seems a healer/face is what we need so maybe An or oracle of some sort would be good.
Érme Coin |
Am back gang - apologies again for work stymieing my involvement in the battle (for what good Érme bot did lol).

(Cough) We have an oracle ;)... (cough)

well I feel foolish haha, although a battle oracle is still viable haha. But seriously I think Drek was sorta the "6th" man anyways so anything you pick will be viable. Do we have a particular Rogueish or sneaky character?

Resurection might be a bit expensive for a first level character, but Reincarnation is always a fun, much more affordable way, to keep a PC around.
NGL, the idea of a Catfolk running around stuck in the body of... literally any other race, seems hilarious to me though so I am biased, Plus it comes with a built in long term goal for your character: get catfolk body back.
Drektan |
Yes, but I've played that game before. Back in Living Greyhawk, I had an Elven Ranger wo died and was reincarnated as a Halfling. He rode the reincarnation express several times trying to get back to something more comfortable, but the dice KEPT COMING UP HALFLING.
Eventually, he participated in a battle interactive where the teams were promised a True Resurrection if they needed it. Once we won, my team killed me so I could True-Rez back to an Elf.
Next event I died again, and they reincarnated me . . . as a halfling.
Why did he keep dying? Well, Drektan's participation in that fight should give you a clue. I tend to choose dangerously heroic actions. Goes along with a Good alignment. Accepting risks you could avoid for the benefit of others and not yourself.
Kunala |
Moving the story along, and sorry to hold up excellent roll play opportunities. I assume Kunala returns to the captain an aldori sword to use too.He did respond
unbuckling his own sword. "Thank you, This sword belong to my father's family, I hope it serves you well." ...
I assumed that was clear enough to indicate that he traded swords. For future reference should I be more explicit in OOC or something?
Kunala |
Cool, swords exchanged.
Not trying to be a conversation hog, but we have company coming in this afternoon for the next three days and won't be able post as regularly
I like the idea of eliminating the bad guy hide out, so we've eliminated part of the cause of the problem. But what is the proximity to the shaman? I don't like the idea of playing for a long time without Drektan, or his replacement character.
Drektan, unless you tell me to do otherwise, Kunala, who feels guilty for getting you killed, will press to get you resurrected or reincarnated, or whatever they can offer.
Tacitus Freeling |
to clarify, is the druid shaman in the tree that emerald is going into? or are they with Jasper?
it sounds like you are saying that Jaspers map points to the back area of the tree, and the tree also doubles as a living structure/fort of some sort?
Also Tacitus is going through some stuff right now processing his lack of effectiveness (bad rolls), and beating him self up and feeling guilty for not actually interacting enough to learn a name; So he will be down for trying something as well.
GM Tribute |
To clarify, orphan exotic children out front playing in front yard.
Emerald, Drektan's body, and those going inside the hollowed out tree with the dwarf to sit in the parlor.
Jasper and those going to the back yard meet the contact the military notes go to.
I typically try to keep the party in groups of two or less, so tried to not let anyone play with the cute kids in front.-
Five weeks with weekends off from start to level 2, about my planned pace. 2 very hard combats rather than 10 CR 1 encounters.
Kunala |
Ok, post up, Kunala will go with Emerald, who's headed with Jasper.
A side note, I've got family in from out of town until Wednesday. I won't be checking the boards as often. I should still get at least a post a day up, but they may be rushed. So, anything that's misspelled or confusing I apologize for in advance.
Amelia Coin |
Still here. It'll probably be Monday evening before I get around to posting. Bot me if needed.
Amelia Coin |
I'm feeling a lot better and happy to be back :D
Woo!
Kunala |
WGM!? so we were playing a module your friend wrote? Cool.
Jasper explains "You are worthy to be granted these charters to set up your own kingdom in the Riverlands to be a loyal vassal of Brevoy. You will be given aid and advice to get started. You can begin this immediately, or eliminate the headquarters Pitax has set up in our lands."
END OF BOOK 0 Part 1 Choice to begin Book 0 Part 2 or skip to Kingmaker Book 1
Very Cool! I would enjoy doing the 'Part 2' so if we are voting, I would vote that direction.
Earlier Sarah Jean had said:
Sarah Jean explains:
"I have not been happy with Brevoy's encroachment on the wildlands and the resultant counter forces put the wildlands in the middle between the fey and Pitax. Nevertheless, I continue to help those in need when I can."
Would our new 'charter' include this are that Sara and Jasper are talking about? Or will it remain separate? Either way I think we should deal with the Pitax.
Oh, and we don't have any idea who or what Drektan is yet right?
Amelia Coin |
Nice, and welcome back Drektan! Looking forward to actually getting to know you this time. ;)
As for my vote, I say we finish off the Pitaxi. As for how, well anyone up for some skullduggery and shenanigans?
Tacitus Freeling |
I also vote for finishing off Pitax before attempting to setting a kingdom.
Skullduggery you say?
Amelia Coin |
Hey there is nothing in Abadar's creed nor the LG alignment that precludes being sneaky. :P
So, there's a few ways we can do this.
1. Pose as brigands looking for mercenary work. Might have to find some reason for Amelia to be there. She's not brigand material.
2. Pose as a supply caravan from Pitax.
3. Pose as a traveling show that got lost on the way to Brevoy.
4. Pose as Pitax reinforcements.
Which will depend on the state of the camp and how likely they are to believe us. We'll probably need to run some recon to know what's up and see if there's a way to make ourselves appear as unsuspicious as possible when we sneak in.
Drektan |
You will laugh, but Drektan is a halfling with a telepathic link to Sarah Jean. He also adds this bonus feat — spirit of the reincarnated +1 untyped bonus to all saving throws and AC (flat footed and touch too)
Some (including me) might say worth the 5K gold alone
Now you're just taunting me . . .. My radio silence while I wait for time to reappear too disconcerting?
I do need to know how to do the rebuild, which includes am I undoing the full race, or just the physical aspects?
Then I need to know what race to apply, and whether to apply the entire racial modifiers, or just the physical aspects.
And depending on the race, there could be some discussion about whether some traits are physical or not. Like Halfling's Luck. It is never really described well enough to be explicitly identified, but I think it is probably more a social trait than a physical one.
Kunala |
... that precludes being sneaky. :Phmmmm most bankers are sneaky right?
Sarah Jean provides a detailed map of the old Cragson mines that she had given to Jeremiah Ignatius, the Brevan courier./QUOTE] We also need to determine he relationship between the mines and he Pitax location.
GM Tribute |
Drektan loses all catfolk traits and racial adjustments and replaces them with halfling traits and racial adjustments plus the fully reincarnated feat OR he can keep all his catfolk traits and just change the stat adjustments.
The feat only applies to those fully reincarnated.
The stats for halfling are -2 Str +2 Dex +2 Cha

Amelia Coin wrote:... that precludes being sneaky. :Phmmmm most bankers are sneaky right?
Depends, am I trying to save my client money on taxes or am I conducting an audit?
Amelia Coin |
Thankfully a lot of your gear is also lighter.
Drektan |
I THINK I have completed the changes, including selling the wrong-sized gear for half-price and purchasing replacement in the new size. Lost the MW Chain Shirt but was able to replace everything else AND buy some armor, and even have a little coin left.
Basically has to tie a rope to his saddle so he can climb up into the seat without hurting the horse . . ..
The saddlebags and horse save me on the weight differences more than anything else could.

Emerald, Jasper and Malin are preparing to sail the caravan back up river. They give you 1000gp for completing the caravan duty less 5000gp to bring Drektan back, albeit as a halfling. Unfortunately in the middle of the wilderness, there are not many places to spend it.
GM T, a question on the math. There are six of us, that's 6,000 gp. - 5,000 gp leaving 1.000 gp. to split up.
I said Kunala wouldn't take any gold if they brought him back, so the other five can divide the remaining 1,000 gp, or 200 gp each. Does that sound right, or did you mean something else?
Amelia Coin |
Amelia is now leveled. I decided that I wanted to try for the Mystic Theurge class. Amelia is going to be a utility caster with some illusions thrown in for fun and flavor.
Drektan, Emre, and Fiona, I'm more than happy to coordinate and make sure our spell selections don't overlap too much.
Érme Coin |
Érme Level 2
+1/2 Favoured Class bonus on Intimidate checks and Knowledge checks to identify creatures.
+6 HP (d8+1, +1 CON)
+1 BAB
+1 FORT & WILL Saves
+1 0 Level Spell Known
+1 1st Level Spell Known
+1 1st Level Spell/Day
+1 Adventuring Skill Ranks in Climb, Know (Local), Know (Nature), Perception, Sense Motive, Spellcraft, Survival & Swim
+1 Background Skill Ranks in Appraise
Cunning Initiative Class Ability
Detect Alignment Class Ability
Oathbreaker's Scourge Archetype Ability
Happy enough to coordinate spells, most of Érme's picks are flavour-based so likely less of an overlap per say.
Thinking of shifting her alignment from LG to LN as she seems to be the harder edged counterpoint to Amelia. Interested to what everyone else thinks?

Just checking - after resurrection tax did we all get 200GP as Kunala noted or 166GP, 6SP & 6 CP each (the 1k split 6 ways)?
Érme Coin |
If permissable Érme would have purchased one of these: Magnifying Glass
Totally situational, but nice flavour for an Abadarian appraiser :)
Tacitus Freeling |
so 250gp apiece then it sounds like?
