SEVERAL YEARS LATER

it had been almost 5 years since the incident at the plantation and Taddy and Mafetous, or Maff, as Taddy would sometimes call him had made their way farther north and east than anyone in Taddy's family had probably ever dreamed of. Through the years they had become quite the team, working as trailblazers, scouts, hunters, and some other odd jobs here and there and now they had just secured a loose patronage from Lord Lebeda! it wasn't much, and he certainly wouldn't be the huntsmaster, but it was more than the son of two enslaved slips could ever hope for.

The hunting lodge called 'Rivercat Lodge,' was almost a small village unto itself. Located near enough to the East Sellen River to receive regular supplies, but far enough to need a small palisade for protection. To Taddy's surprise he never got to actually meet the Lord Lebeda upon his arrival as he had recently left with his household, but he had heard some saucy rumors about a jealous wife and a spurned mistress. Most of his work was through a kind man named Onnello. Onnello had a new Wife who came with a pair of sons he treated as his own and soon they had children of their own. Once a year Lord Lebeda would come to the lodge to visit and go hunting with Onnello's boy and Taddy would help track and find the Elk for them to hunt.

6 MONTHS PRIOR TO CAMPAIGN

Rivercat Lodge had been very good to Taddy and Maff but once Lord Lebeda's mistress remarried his visits became even more infrequent, and the mistress's new children would rather wield a flute or paintbrush than a bow, so Taddy made for Great wall to see if he could
ply his skills there. aside from a few scouting reports that never amounted to much, a few rescue missions of lost soldiers, that usually ended in found bodies, or nothing at all, it had been a relatively uneventful 6 months; that is until he was enjoying a night at
the Behir and Beholder when the Sergeant and his men practically pressganged him and 5 others into a meeting with the Captain.
