It's +1 or +2? I forgot.
Kuozar doesn't need to be told twice. The herd survives when it acts together. He takes aim, squinting. The laser lights up and seems to suck in air.

Kuozar lifts his laser cannon and scorches the far creature.

Stell calls out, "Electrovores! They eat electricity.!"
With that she opens fire with her pistol after taking a step forward as if to rush at the creature, hoping to put it off guard.

The electrovores fly from their perches and swoop at the party. The one closest to Idir and Stell seems to explode in an expanding ball of electricity, but its still there when your vision clears a moment later.
Stell, Idir, and Thundergun take 3 points of damage, ref save DC 13 for half, and are staggered.

After the trap injured Thundergun, Stell attempted an Inspiring Boost to help him recover SP. Can the ability be used for injuries from a trap, or does it only work when in melee type combat? See this post. Also, did Stell's semi-auto pistol attack hit?
DC 13
Reflex: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10
Stell has evasion (half damage on a failed reflex save, no damage on a successful save to half damage.), so she takes just 1. I believe that this also means she is not staggered.
Stell will point her pistol and light at the more distant blue electrovore, but then shifts to fire at the closer one red.

Apologies, Clebsch, for not responding with explicit rulings or in-game descriptions. Stell's first shot did hit. Jotted down the damage, but didn't write a description. Inspiring boost is an in combat only ability and the damage has to come from a 'significant enemy'. (Pro tip : don't get injured by mooks.) IMO, the limitation is a stupid rule. If we were playing home brew, you would totally be allowed that use of inspiring boost.
Thundergun retreats but the electrovores attack him when he turns away. One of them (blue) brutally slams its tail into his back. The other's tail glances off his shoulder harmlessly, but the damage is done. The izalguun is barely able to stagger into the hallway with his prize.
13 points of damage and I forgot to put the trap damage in the first status post so I'll add that too.

Bad luck.

Stell is grateful for the chance to rest for a few minutes. She was not really injured by the electric shocks, but they rattled her composure and left some lingering numbness in places. Closes her eyes as she rests. Which explains her complete failure of what should have been an easy perception check. She will spend an rp to regain stamina.
Stell has ranks spent ranks in medicine and could attempt a check if someone has a medkit or some other healing item. She has 2 serums of Healing Mk 1, but would prefer to save those for use in battles.

Idir takes time to try and calm himself down after the fight.
Resting to restore SP, just in case.
"So...do you think our assassin is even here? If animals have come to poke around her garbage...metaphorically speaking, technically these things were chewing on the place's power cables not eating out of the place's waste disposal...she may not have been home for a while."

SD DM |

Thundergun may have taken everything of value, but some discarded wrappers on the floor catch Kuozar's eye. It's packaging for five industrial explosive devices.
The backpack contains an unremarkable set of clothing, a set of basic lashunta tempweave armor, an anchoring weapon seal, a hygiene kit including a vial of Dagret’s Scalesheen Oil and a jar of FLĒQ Texture Cream for Curly Hair, and a nice computer. The computer is tier 3 with firewall and lockout countermeasures and a miniaturization upgrade.

SD DM |

Good work hacking open the computer. I'll copy the spoiler here so you don't have to go back to it. Thundergun, and anyone who helped him, or even looked over his shoulder can try the perception roll below
Inside the spoiler it said:
The computer contains records of infosphere searches for a human woman named Sanivvi Acheosi, a tawny skinned woman with wildly curly hair currently residing on Castrovel, and several pages of instructions and videos for styling curly hair.
You recall having seen a staffer at the gala who matches this appearance working on the audiovisual setup for the event.
Computer also has a firewall protecting a secure data
module.
The module behind the firewall contains a file with a list of names, dates, and locations, cumulating with an alarming entry: “Luwazi Elsebo; Lorespire Complex, Skyreach Room, gala” and the present date. With a few minutes of research using the local infosphere, the PCs can ascertain that every individual on the list is recently deceased, save for Luwazi; the obituary dates and locations correspond with the dates and locations in the files, but the causes of death are widely varied. Most notably, those few that are documented as homicides all list radically different perpetrators: individuals of varying gender, race, and background.
TG failed the new computer check, but I'll let his roll work as an aid for anyone else who wants to give it a try.

Idir looks over the information Thundergun has uncovered, and attempts to help him go further.
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22
His eyestalks bug out for a moment like a trivid cartoon.
"Hang on...I recognize her! She was running the AV at the gala!"
Computers: 1d20 + 5 + 1d6 ⇒ (14) + 5 + (6) = 25
With Thundergun's help, Idir gets past the firewall and into the protected file. His eyestalks zip back and forth as he takes the information in, his expertise in collating and filing relevant information making it lightning fast...and the moment he realizes what he's reading he gives a horrified groan.
"Oh no...ohhhh no...The First Seeker is our assassin's intended target and she's going to attempt to kill her at the gala! We need to get back to the Lorespire! IMMEDIATELY!"
Assuming we take my INSISTENT recommendation...
"Something odd I noticed in the files," Idir comments as they start making their way back. "A few of the target listings WERE directly listed as homicides, presumably times when our assassin got sloppy and wasn't able to make the death look like an accident. But each time, the appearance of the perpetrator is radically different. We know from the tutorials and hair cream that she's likely using a disguise, but the other appearances are even MORE different than just a change of hairstyle. Different genders, different SPECIES. None of them match the woman we'll be looking for at the gala...Do you...do you think the assassin might be some kind of...shapeshifter?"

Sorry for not posting yesterday while things were hopping. I had a social event after work that took up my posting time. Friday I usually spend some time decompressing from the work week and so am just now getting caught up on posts. I'll roll the computer checks, just curious to see if Stell could have helped things along, but then will react to the information learned.
Computers: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19
Stell was content to let the computer experts work their magic on the computer, kibitzing a bit to try to help when she thought she spotted something that might help.
Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21
Stell confirms Idir's description of the worker at the gala.
"I remember her too. At least when we get back, we won't have to try to pierce the disguise, unless the assassin only used that disguise to gain access."
Stell listens to Idir's hypothesis that the assassin is a shape shifter. "My parents were con artists and so I learned at an early age to notice little details that can help identify someone who is up to no good or working to deceive. When we get there, I'll do my best to spot this assassin." Stell takes out her case with her small arms rounds and reloads her gun to replace the rounds that were expended.
"I'm also pretty good at disguises. If there are pictures of any of the victims that look similar to me, I can try to disguise myself to appear the same, at least at first glance. Might put the assassin off guard. Or I could just disguise myself so the ze won't recognize me as a Starfinder, maybe blend in with the waitstaff."

"We should message Radaszam too! He's already there, he can get eyes on her while we're making our way there!"
He fumbles with his comm for a moment to try and get The Dealmaker on the line!

SD DM |

Radaszam is surprised to hear about the AV tech. He wonders how she could get past the background check, but quickly moves on. "Get back here as soon as possible. Someone will meet you in the lobbby outside the gala. While you're on the way can you tell me any more about the attack?"
While you take transit back to the Lorespire, any of you who still want to can rest to recover stamina.
