reflex DC18: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 8 = 28
Somehow the roast manages to dodge completely out of the way of Camina's spell. The aroma of this perfectly medium rare roast is still intoxicating, though perhaps a little fresh for a certain mushroom.
Gratt?

![]() |

Hmm, since the party is broken up anyway, a cold roast will still make a good meal.
Gratt's Ray of Frost attack: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (18) + 8 = 26 || damage: 1d4 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
After the ray of frost sprays towards the roast, Gratt mutters and casts Shield.

![]() |

Gratt's ray of frost nails the roast, catching it square in its disemboweled chest! It is about to go down, and it roars, staying on its feet!
The roast continues to maul the mushroom, but misses three times!
bludgeoning vs AC20: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (2) + 10 = 12
bludgeoning vs AC20: 1d20 + 10 - 5 ⇒ (11) + 10 - 5 = 16
bludgeoning vs AC20: 1d20 + 10 - 10 ⇒ (15) + 10 - 10 = 15
That’s Cooking with Gas!!
LParty is/are up.

The mushroom, of DOOOM, is mesmerized by the Roasts ability to shake off its own demise…. ”What’s it gonna take…eh…maybe a slice here…maybe a poke there…” it says, as it nimbly dances in front of the Roast…
Action 1/2: Double Slice
Action 3: Raise shield
Tekko-kagi: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (1) + 12 = 131d4 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4(S)
Spiked Gauntlet: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (20) + 10 = 301d4 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6(P)
The dancing clearly confused the mushroom, of DOOOOOM, and the Roast. The slice goes wide, but the gauntlet strikes deep….

![]() |

The mushroom misses with his first attack, and stabs the roast with his second. It falters for a moment, but stays standing.
Minuet, Gratt, Camina

![]() |

Minuet throws another Electric Arc. Basic Reflex 20
Minuet's Electric Arc: 2d4 + 4 ⇒ (3, 2) + 4 = 9 Die, again, already. No one wants to eat you anymore anyway!

![]() |

reflex: 1d20 ⇒ 10
Although the thing avoids some of the damage, it finally drops!
Danya (the chef) grumbles about the mess before declaring that the roast will simply be served pre-carved and rallying her assistants to recover as much meat as they can.

![]() |

The mushroom, of DOOOOOM, isn’t leaving without a slab of that Roast. It’s claws flash as they slice a nice piece off the Roast.
”That’ll….do for….now….” it says, while attempting to shovel the whole slice into its oversized maw…

![]() |

”Oh…and…medic….” it mumbles, dropping to the ground.
Healing anyone? I know we have some potions, but if someone can heal out of combat. I can try on myself, but not the best at it. I also presume there isn’t enough (any?) herbs/vegetation to receive the +2 to treat wounds from Natural Medicine?

![]() |

Your nature skill is better than anyone else's medicine check. And we're in a kitchen where herbs might be growing in pots on shelves.
Who would have thought a roast would be so painful. Minuet pulls a small amount of roast that has landed on her lapel. But very tasty. Perfectly seasoned, Chef Danya! You are a master of your craft!
Pulling a random knife from her upper left bicep, Minuet then attempts to treat her own wounds
Minuet's Medicine (T): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 142d8 ⇒ (3, 1) = 4
Well, that didn't work. I will be fine for now. I don't wish to waste any more time. Shall we move on to the next room #3? If Leaf is ready?

![]() |

I forgot I had this ability - Root Magic. I would have given the token to Camina - as I am expert in Occultism, it's a +2.
The first time that day the ally attempts a saving throw against a spell or haunt, they gain a +1 circumstance bonus to the roll. This bonus increases to +2 if you’re an expert in Occultism or +3 if you’re legendary.
I don't believe we have had any saves v magic or haunts yet, so it would still be in effect.

![]() |

Each of you should have your consumables. 1 minor healing if level 1-2, 2 if you are 3-4
As for natural medicine, you are definitely not in the wilderness... so no bonus here.
Minuet takes ten minutes to patch herself up, but doesn't make her wounds any better.

![]() |

Seeing Minuet grab some bandages, Gratt attempts to treat his own wounds as well, minor as they are.
Medicine (T) for DC15 Treat Wounds: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16
Ah, that feels a bit better. We should keep working to clear the lodge for safety.

![]() |

Rereading this later, I was only down three hit points, but I should probably roll the 2d8 too, right? I could get snake eyes...
Treat Wounds result: 2d8 ⇒ (2, 8) = 10

![]() |

There seem to be doors to a closet or connecting room on the west wall. Seems like that's continuing clockwise around the central fountain.
Gratt moves over near the door, but slightly back hoping that someone else will open it.

![]() |

The mushroom, of DOOoooOOM, gets up, retrieves multiple healing potions and quaffs them down…
2 minor healing potions: 2d8 ⇒ (1, 1) = 2
Well that was less than ideal. If we don’t have a time constraint, I’d suggest I treat wounds on myself and continue for 1 hour for double the effect. Using Nature skill to treat wounds at DC 15
Leaf's Nature (E): 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (19) + 9 = 28
Thats a crit for 4d8. The chart on AoN says it’s 4d8, not 2d8, doubled. Which seems odd…. I guess I didn’t realize I was Expert in Nature, which I presumed meant I could have gone for DC 20…
Treat wounds critical: 4d8 ⇒ (4, 4, 3, 8) = 19
If we can wait the hour, then that would be 16+2+38, healing to full. If not, then 16+2+19 = 37 out of 44.

![]() |

The party is going on right now. Do you want to risk the guests?
"Pathfinders, would you mind not sitting here bleeding in my kitchen? I appreciate the help, but I do have a dinner to prepare." grumbles Danya.

![]() |

Sounds like we are under time pressure, of course. So no more healing for us going forward. Let’s move on after the 10 minutes then. Hopefully we take no further damage.
The mushroom, of doooOOOoooOOOM, stares blankly at the chef and grumble while walking away, ”Next you are on your own….”, following the funny Elf.

![]() |

I remind you that as a group you received 7 lesser healing potions from Safa, after the fountain, which are the 2d8+5 version. Plus, likely, the level 1-2s have 1 minor healing each, and Minuet might have 2 left?
Camina has 10m to heal, if she can, as well.
Conditions:
Camina: 14/20
Gratt: 26/26
Leaf: 37/44
Minuet 26/30
-------------------
Moving forward to next room.
This room is the dining room, and food is constantly being brought in to replenish the variety of treats, both sweet and savory, here.
You then move forward into the reading room, where rows of comfortable seating and study tables fill this room, strategically arranged to take maximum advantage of the natural light provided by a wide window. The handful of guests currently occupying this space are embroiled in a lively but frivolous debate over the merits of different horse-training methods.
Moving quickly to the next room (Please feel free to use the potions... they were given to you to be used!)
As you approach the double doors to the next room, you hear a woman's voice calling for help!

![]() |

I looked back for that, healing pots, but couldn’t find it…. Wasn’t sure if that was before the sudden change of surroundings…. So the mushroom will have 2 on its person…

![]() |

Sounds like more trouble in the next room!
Gratt reaches over Leaf and pulls the door open to see what's inside.

![]() |

Of course he opens the door looking for more trouble, Camina rolls her eyes. She peers over Gratt's and Leaf's shoulders and casts Detect Magic.

![]() |

Minuet hands Camina another potion to use, since we have the spares (and Min has 2).
We are here to help, Camina. That's our job as Pathfinders. Minuet is ready to quickly survey the situation and see what she can do to redner such aid.

![]() |

Camina gulps down another potion. This one is decidedly strawberry flavored!
healing: 1d8 ⇒ 4
Gratt opens the door to see ashwood shelves line the walls of this spacious library, some filled to capacity with Pathfinder Chronicles, Society records, and local history. Other shelves stand half-empty, awaiting future donations and volumes on order from distant lodges. In the far corner, an iron spiral staircase leads to the upper levels.
However, the library’s floor, which should be stone covered in fine rugs, instead glows fiery orange and bubbles with a molten heat that radiates through the open double door.
“Thank goodness!” calls a hijabi halfling from her perch atop a large armchair. “Give us a hand, would you? The floor is lava!”
A pair of gnomes huddle together on the large table, obviously torn between fear and amazement!

![]() |

So the floor is molted lava….but the furniture appears to be floating in said lava? None of the furniture has burst into flame or already been incinerated??? That is some sturdy furniture to be able to resist destruction while in lava until we just happen to open the door…
The mushroom, of DOOOoooOOOMMMM, shakes its head and is ready to close the door and move on…. It looks at the magic users for confirmation….

![]() |

Again shaking its head, drops its backpack and pulls out a grappling hook and some rope. It ties the rope to the grappling hook.
It looks at its companions, ”Any of you twiddle fingers have magic to bring this hook over to the armchair? We can then pull it over….”

![]() |

As a grappling hook is Light bulk, I should be able to use Prestidigitation to do as Leaf suggests.
Minuet twiddles her fingers as requested, using Prestidigitation to float the hook 1' off the ground to the chair in question.
It's up to you to grapple it on or tie it off; do so and we shall pull you in.

![]() |

You can lift it with presitidigitation, not move. You need Mage Hand to move an item of light bulk. But it is just an attack roll to throw it there
- You could leap over the furniture. DC16 if the two surfaces are within 20', or DC23 if they are within 20' (the furniture is a little wobbly)
- You could aid another PC.
- A line could be used to make a tight walk, or to pull furniture. BUT there is a chance that dragging could tip something over (there will be a check when pulling)
- Once a PC gets to an NPC, you could assist them with a DC15 Athletics or Diplomacy (you must be adjacent)
- You could craft assistive gear (creating a DC15 Aid opportunity)
- You might have items (found or purchased) that would help bridge the furniture?

![]() |

Seeing that the funny Elf can only lift the grappling hook the mushroom, of DoooOOOMMM, takes it back, tosses it to the halfling on the chair and says, ”Grab on if you want to…..liiivveee….”
I assume then this is a ranged attack roll. I’ll use the +11 listed for my seed pod roll…
Toss grappling hook: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (16) + 11 = 27
Looking satisfied with its throw, it waits for the halfling…

![]() |

The grappling hook hits the armchair, and the hooks grab the upholstery. The halfling looks between you and the floor, with a look of abject terror in her eyes.
Athletics check to drag the chair to you

![]() |

I have a focus ability I am going to use. Ancesstoral Memories; I choose Athletics as my skill. This gives me trained. With the spell, it gives me an additional +4 base level, for a +6. My Blood line (Imperial), when casting a bloodline spell, it gives me an additional +1, which means my Athletics is now a +7. I will use this to attempt to pull the chair in. This ability lasts for 1 minute (and as a focus spell, will come back with a 10 minute refocus).
Minuet's Athletics (U): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25

![]() |

Minuet casts a spell that gives her the memories of a more athletic ancestor. Now bristling with athleticism, she grabs on to the rope that is connected to the chair, and drags it to the doorway.
The halfling woman scampers over the chair and into the safe reading room. "Thank you! she exclaims. "But you have to save Nashwadin and Naqi as well!"
The two gnomes look up at the sound of their names, their eyes huge in a combination of fear and excitement.

![]() |

The mushroom, of dooooOOOOMMMmm, gasps. ”Whaaa…the…” as the funny Elf takes the rope and easily pulls the chair to the doorway.
”Guess it’s my turn again…wonder where the other two members wandered off to…” it says, taking back the grappling hook and tossing it at the table holding the gnomes.
Tossing grappling hook: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (9) + 11 = 20
Looking satisfied with its toss, it offers this end of the rope to the funny Elf.
”Your turn it seems…do what you just did again…and I’ll look around for our teammates. They must have gotten lost…”

![]() |

Camina thinks to herself that the party really needs more information about this floor situation and attempts to recall knowledge.
Camina's Occultism (T): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 8 = 14

![]() |

Camina hasn't seen anything like this before, but she can guess that it likely is one of the "games" that Safa has promised them. If so, it likely isn't real... however, she also knows that illusions can kill.

![]() |

I'm not the most spry agent around, but let me know if you have a way I can help.
Gratt is older, not trained in athletics, and not crafty either. He examines the lava closely, using his knowledge of Occultism to try to disbelieve the illusion, if only for himself.
I assume this would be a secret roll for Occultism (Gratt has a +2 to mental effects, noted on the macros page), or a perception roll against the spell DC.
If he can disbelieve it, he'll take any remaining actions to walk through the room to the gnomes.

![]() |

Gratt does not believe that this is an illusion that he can disbelieve. Perhaps the fact that Safa is a Genie means that they have access to a different type of magic that he has encountered before... it seems real enough to him.

![]() |

The mushroom, of DDDOoooOoOOOooOOOoMMMmm, jumps at the sound of the gnome speaking next to him…”Whoa, you bout made me loose my cap…thought you were lost. Might want stand back a bit, that Elf there is quite strong.”

![]() |

Minuet takes the rope again from the Mushroom of DoooOOOmmmmMM
It's only a temporary strength. My great great great great great great Aunt Charisima was an extraordinary blacksmith. Her horseshoes were especially exceptional. And often quite lucky.
Minuet's Athletics (U): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (12) + 7 = 19
I don't have much longer, so if Leaf could get this rope out again right away, I'll continue to pull in the gnomes.

![]() |

Minuet pulls on the rope and the table starts shifting. However, after about five feet, the grapple comes free, and the jerking almost knocks the gnomes off onto the lava rug! Both shriek in terror and hold on to the table for dear life!
Minuet then remembers something she is holding on to that might help!

![]() |

seems like formatting is now broken…. As all text is now bold…. Including headers for each post, etc…looks like Mins last post did it…

![]() |

Minuet takes out the ladder feather token and activates it in such a way to make it a bridge for the gnomes to crawl across to freedom. She uses her remaining athletics time to hold it in place.
Minuet's Athletics (U): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11

![]() |

Nothing I can do about it. Might have to contact customer service.
While Minuet activates the ladder feather token, the gnomes are not moving. They do seem scared enough that someone is going to have to go to them and get them to move.
DC 10 Acrobatics to balance to get across on the ladder.

![]() |

I'll try to go over and help them, I'm at least small enough and a little fire resistant.
Acrobatics (U): 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (14) + 0 = 14 to attempt the balance. Assuming Gratt makes it, he'll attempt to use Diplomacy (T): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (18) + 8 = 26 to get the other gnomes moving. Any bonus for being able to do it in Gnomish?

![]() |

FYI - I did contact customer service regarding the all bold
Gratt dances over the ladder, and is able to get the two very scared gnomes moving. They crawl over the ladder to safety, leaving Gratt the only one still on the table.
Another check to get back, please!

![]() |

Here goes!
Gratt attempts to get back to the safe floor with a quick dash. Gratt's Acrobatics (U): 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (10) + 0 = 10

![]() |

Tonya fixed it for us! Was the mis-formatted tag.
Gratt manages to not fall on the way back!
As he gets back, you all hear a disembodied kazoo trilling a celebratory refrain, and the "lava" bursts into harmless sparks that quickly fade, returning the floor to normal.
Casira says, "Thank you, Pathfinders, for your quick response. I don't know what we would have done without you! Please accept this small token of my appreciation!"
She digs into her purse, and pulls out a full cantrip deck for you!
Where to next?
