Okay, my character profile is finished but her animal companion still needs to be put in the profile.
Will need until mid next week for that but we can start with the briefing. :-)

Mina is an independent woman that knows her worth and also knows that we was chosen by forces beyond her control to follow a certain path. She does not know where this path will lead her but she is trying to use her strong personality as her power to push through the barriers on the way to her destination.

Suggestions for operating procedures:
- all check doors for traps (perception all take 20 in case we have no buffs and all just roll via macro in case we have buffs)
- detect magic all the time
- counterclockwise door opening by Mina with our dragon disciple and the tiger in front

![]() |

Works for me!

![]() |

I’m back…figures I’d get back in a situation where I cannot do anything productive as I’m useless against this haunt…

![]() |

Great to have you back! :-)

![]() |

I just hope that there won’t be any haunts anymore. ;-)

![]() |

Yeah … I was just dreaming… :-(

![]() |

Haunts are really spooky and I actually like the spookiness but they sometimes are super strong!

Yep, to be honest, Elena's build was partially made in mind to survive this particular section of the AP. Giving advantage on Init to her or allies, and advantage on Will Saves against mind-affecting effects...

![]() |

Yes, I can see why that is important! We miss you Elena! ;-D

![]() |

Haven’t faced many haunts and when I did, usually had holy water flasks. I have a wand of CLW though; is it considered a touch attack or is it automatic damage?

Babr, the Celestial Tiger |

Ahh, I didn’t do a touch attack last time. Will remember that.

![]() |

Going down first is ok for everyone I hope?

![]() |

Guys, I unfortunately have to cut down some gaming until next week Thursday as the workload in my job has expanded tremendously currently.
I will be back to normal again next Thursday! Please bot me until then.
Thanks for your understanding!!
Have a great week!

Babr, the Celestial Tiger |

I think I have to go through the posts again to understand the story.

I compiled some of the most relevant discoveries so far in the Foxglove/Haunts Slide. But to make it a bit clearer with the information you have discovered so far:
The Sandpoint hinterlands had a recent problem of murders and a ghoul infestation linked to a mysterious figure leaving notes taunting you to come the haunted house "to become part of the pack". The Mayor and the Sheriff asked you to investigate what they assumed was an empty haunted house.
So far you have discovered that some 80 years ago, the initial owner and founder of the house, Vorel Foxglove, dabbled in necromancy and was performing the ritual that would achieve lichdom but his wife, Kasanda, managed to disrupt it partially... the negative energies released affected everyone in the house, and even when they attempted to flee, Kasanda and her daughter, Lorey, died of rapid disease and decay. Vorel's fate remains unknown.
A couple of generations later, 20 years ago, Traver Foxglove and his wife Cyralie moved into the house with their children: Zeeva, Sendeli and Aldern. A few years later, Cyralie burned the servant's quarters and attempted to burn the house down, but then, a suddenly diseased Traver attacked her. The children ran into Aldern's room to hide fearing they would come for them next. You know Cyralie's bodies was found burnt and dashed in the rocks at the base of the cliff of the house... and that Traver committed suicide by slashing his own throat in their room. The children were found and sent to Korvosa with family.
Of those children, you have discovered that Aldern had returned to the house not long ago, now a young adult, and attempted to get the house fixed. You have seen evidence that he had trouble getting workers to come to do the renovations and charging him a lot because of the dark story of the place. You also just discovered that he might have married to a young Varisian woman, called Iesha... but through the vision you know he killed another man and strangled Iesha with her scarf.
The vision in the spiral stairs in the basement revealed Aldern was looking for rats, and you even found a few cages with dead diseased rats in them.

Thank GM, so what do others think? Is our working hypotheses that Aldern is the killer that we are looking for?

![]() |

Thanks, GM. So, what do others think? Is our working hypotheses that Aldern is the killer that we are looking for?
Indubitably.

![]() |

That's my thought as well.

![]() |

Ha ha ... then we are aligned! But this is really a twisted set-up, right?
And isn't skinsaw associated to some god?

![]() |

Huh. I've been thinking of the Red Mantis Assassins because of their saw-tooth sabre swords.
Skinsaw, Sawtooth. That was my connection.

![]() |

Yeah, I knew there was some god involved. ;-)

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!
