Recruitment ends tonight at midnight EST. I stopped reviewing characters in depth, that's why the newer submissions don't have feedback. Instead I'm looking at the characters in general and concentrating on backstories and campaign traits. I will do in depth reviews of selected characters instead.

I now see the worst part of GMing a PbP game, character selection from such a large pool of applicants. I hate turning people down. Unfortunately, as this will be my first GMed PbP, I will refrain from running multiple tables.

Entirely sensible GM, I wouldn't want to run multiple tables either. I also feel bad about disappointing people when I recruit for games, but it's just the way it is and everyone knows that when they apply.

Personally I enjoy writing backgrounds even if my character doesn't get selected.

Just part of the process. We all know it.

Pick the table that you think you will have the most fun with. Game is much more likely to survive when the GM is having fun.

We all want to see successful games.

I will admit, Evander's backstory's a bit more sparse than I'd normally like: Part of it was just getting something written down before the deadline, so it's more like a rough draft, and admittedly his alignment and archetype do most of the heavy lifting on his personality ("Code's more like guidelines than actual rules, whether that's a paladin's code or pirate's code."). Plus he's kind of dependent on whoever else is at the table, as I kind of envisioned him acting as a straight-man for more chaotic PCs to play off of.

Right there with you AZ, Usually I do a more detailed 'backstory' not all of them as deep as Elek, vignette #2, and vignette #3 but usually more than I've done for Onnello.

But I want Onnello to feel like we're starting the 'hero's journey.' I hope Trevor0828 does consider our pattern of posting quality and regularity; along with 'covering the bases' on party needs.

Cause, Onnello's a Criminal: You gain a +1 disable device and it is always a class skill for you. :)

I'll echo what hustonj said. Pick the group that you will enjoy at the table. That way it'll be more fun for you, and likely more fun for the party. Fun games last!

And keep in mind that if/when a character has to drop for RL reasons, you've got a long list of potential replacements right here!

I'm in a similar place with my character. She's young and has seen very little of the world, so quite impressionable. She'd likely be the most altruistic and "good" character at the beginning. But she's malleable and could be swayed in a lot of different directions depending on the events that unfold.

Go lottery style, add an element of excitement and have a roll off?

Woo, backstory and other fillers complete!

Good luck, everyone, I'm off to bed. Looking forward to seeing the results tomorrow.

Looks like we’re getting down to it, I also am headed to bed soon, so it seemed appropriate to post the list one last time.

Trevor0828 thanks for running the game, we players appreciate it. Hustonj is right, pick the table that you think you will have the most fun with. Good luck and good gaming to all!

Same total number as when I crunched side numbers last time. I know a couple of them have changed, but I don't think the changes are worth taking the time to redo the breakouts.

And, as others have said, thank you, Trevor0828 for offering to run a game. Without volunteers GMing, nobody would have much reason to be in this part of the forum.

Bill is as ready as he's going to be before midnight.

Just got home from work. Good luck everyone!

Well, this was the hardest thing ever. In some cases, like between Ioney and Randall, I actually defaulted to a coin flip. So, without further ado, here is the starting group:

Robert Henry: Onnello Ustradi
Flanderdash: Hraak Rhegnaz
Galahad0430: Sebastion
MordredofFairy: Nivian Mazu
hustonj: Ioney Dragi
Edeldhur: Helgash

To everyone else, I'm sorry I can't run another tablle, I really like a lot of your characters. I will definitely come back to this list if I lose any players.

Congratulations to those beautiful few. May the dice gods be ever in your favor.

Congratulations everyone! Now I'll be able to revise Evander's backstory for the next Skull and Shackles recruitment...

Thank you for the opportunity to join this one Trevor0828! And among such great characters.

To the others, see you around the boards, and good luck for future games!

Thank you, Trevor, and good luck and fair winds to everyone!

Good luck and fair winds!

Congratulations to the chosen! Have a great game!

Congrats to those that made it! And may the Dice Gods kill you all so the GM comes back here for replacements.... Ahh, What I mean is, make the game interesting ,fatal, and fun!

This honestly made me laugh out loud. Bravo, good luck, and Fair Winds!

Have Ciapha as an NPC and force a 1v1 without equipment as a "cage fight", pretty solid way to get a PC killed :).
