Chip is a soldier, so all combat-related:

He often uses Lunge to give himself a 15-foot reach with his Opportunistic Nova Lance, and eagerly takes AoOs on unwary enemies (with a +3 to attack and damage on these AoOs). Feel free to roll those for me if that comes up and I haven't pre-rolled. I'll have those numbers in my sheet as soon as I can.

Even with reach, he'll still use step up and strike to close distance with casters, waiting to strike until they try to cast. Rich spellcasters are his preferred prey, in fact.

Chip also has Coordinated Shot, giving everyone in the party (at range) a +1 to attack when he threatens in melee (with said big 15' area).

At this juncture, my "by line" is updated (pending a possibly last minute purchase). The rest of my pbp sheet will follow soon, but I can provide my full sheet immediately upon request.

@Kultanien: Since I can't get to your character sheet except the boons (could you make the MythWeavers link into an actual link.) I just want to confirm that your android has Darkvision still? You didn't trade it out?

@Croaker: Sorry to disappoint, but no war wagon usage this time either. At some point, we're gonna have to find a scenario that it would fit in perfectly.

@Croaker: What vision do you have? I don't see anything on your sheet, so I presume darkvision racial, but just want to ensure you didn't swap it out.

@Carlos: Shadow mystic! Perfect! But what's the Shadow Corruption? That's one of those old full sheet convention boons, yes? Can you let me know the mechanics of it when you get a chance, please.

Oh, and someone asked about GenCon. I'm playing in 6 sessions across 3 days, and I know we've got others playing and GMing that weekend either in Indy or online. So we'll plan to pause play for that weekend (3-8 August), and limit posting to roleplay, but nothing consequential.

And with that, we're cleared for takeoff into the Shadow Plane!

That's right, I have chronicles that give him Shadow Corruption, which will only progress in my character. In the end, he will constantly have 2 infamy and a whole set of mental disorders, as if this is not SF but Delta Green .)

Here are the usual rules on corruption and here is a description of the shadow corruption. For Carlos, however, it works a little differently in SFS. Carlos copes with his "demons" (with difficulty) and does not roll will saving throws, but he has a reduced maximum RP and accumulates infamy.

Yes that's what I meant. The link is just text, and in the profile view it wraps on top of the rest of the text. I can't even select it to copy/paste it into the browser, because of the overlapping. Of course, some of this could be due to my browser, so that part might not look that way to you.

I added  >this slide< at the end of the slide deck just to show you what I'm seeing in both Chrome and MS Edge. The parts I circled in red are the overflow areas that can't be read clearly or selected.

Where you put the link now is fine. I can select that, no problem. But you could put that same thing inside the "Homepage URL" box if you want. It's just that the Paizo profile page doesn't automatically format something in the "Homepage URL" box as a URL. You have to do that manually, just like how you did for the FULL SHEET link that you made.

Or as Farol suggested above, in the tag line is good too.

But with that available and working, anything else is just icing. Thanks!

No worries at all, Chip. You'll find that although I try to run fast, my flying schedule means I post when I can.

We have a rule in cargo flying: "Eat when you're hungry; sleep when you're tired." Cause you never know when you're gonna get to do it again. Same rule applies here. I post when I can, cause I don't always know when I'll get to next. So if I post a couple times in a day, it's only because I was off for a day or two and had time. But I don't expect everyone to be able to do that. And for Aroden's sake, you're doing GenCon stuff! That helps the whole community! Don't sweat it.

TIME OUT!

Sorry folks, but let's pause here for GenCon. 5 out of the 6 of you have posted re: the candle snuffing. We'll see what Chip does if he has time to post.

But either way, the very next thing is combat, and I don't want to try to start that as we head into GenCon and GenCon Online.

For those that don't know this, Chip Ramsey's player is one of the VO's for the Indy region, and he'll be GMing 6 in-person games plus playing in others plus volunteering and herding cats. So I don't really expect to hear from him until Monday at the earliest.

And I'm playing in 6 games across just the 3 days, too.

Again, sorry for the pause, but this seems like the best spot in the story to do it.  Expect to start back up in earnest and go into combat on Monday, 8 Aug.

Yeah, I am running 4 games over the weekend at Gencon online (even though I live closer to Indy than Chip's player). Mainly doing online because I just don't think I have it in me this year to do the 'teacher voice' (i.e. almost yelling) so that my table can hear.

I do have open slots on those if you are interested all SFS (Thursday evening (8 PM EDT, Friday evening (SFS special 8 PM EDT) and Saturday 2 PM EDT)).

The only table I had of SFS that was sold out was the Lvl 9-12 5:04 Fragment of the 4th. Which didn't surprise me. 1)High level GM's are a rarity, 2)I kinda attempt to excel at my GMing of high level tables. Weirdly, I love running them oftentimes more than the lvl 1-4.....

I would love to, but the timing for me is completely off. This week I have plenty of family meetups, funny next week that would work great :D Beside playing at midnight is brutal for me

From what I have read....since I only poked at the 2 different 'scenario' sets for a very quick comparison....that Tier 1-4 and tier 3-6 scenarios are 'similar'...but if you played the subtier 3-4 in the Tier 1-4 scenario 'some' are slightly different than the subtier 3-4 in the 'Tier 3-6' scenario. That is why you can earn 1 chronicle per. I honestly think the best to do this is with a tier 1-2 character and then a tier 5-6....just to make certain you get the (again admittedly small) difference feel.

So....if you have to bail...see if they can find a table for the tier 1-4 group for you to play. If you can't....maybe have a Nova replay available....or if not then I think I might have one or two open slots on that one chronicle I got for Gencon 2020 still.....

Before I committed to changing tables, I asked for clarification on replaying the Specials. Here's what Fireclaw Drake and Redux said, and which Tyranius confirmed: "...the new Specials can both be played twice total, at any tier you wish." No novas or any special boons required, but thanks for the offer.

So I did sign up at your table, and already imported my character (XHC-5).

I played the Special in the 5-6 tier at PaizoCon in Seattle. There are no seats left for Tier 3-4 except at the table I left. I don't have any sub-tier 1-2 characters so would have to play a pregen which wouldn't be as much fun for a Special.

I will still post this coming week....but I might be kinda short on it. Going to actually go on a real vacation before the start of the fall semester. Moving on a map might take a little work, but I can at least post what I am doing and such.

Yikes! Sorry it didn't work out, mate. Seems like a lot of people ran into the same issue throughout the weekend. The table fired, we had fun, and you got some extra sleep. I'd call it a win overall in the end.

@Jim Crase: When you get back from your vacay (where ya' goin'?) can you correct the faction on Shaq's reporting from the SF Special? The chronicle is correct (Acquisitives), but it got reported as Ehu Hadif. I need those last 2 rep so he can get that Acquisitives Day Job boon :)

Also, I love the dragon in your chronicle signature. I do something similar on my chronicles, but not nearly as pretty as yours.

Again, no hurry, don't do it on your vacation, just when you get back.

I'm not sure I posted it, but Kultanien normally keeps her environmental seals active on her armour when in... unusual situations. Her armor is very subtle so I assume its not normally noticeable. The downside of her Clearweave armour in situations like this is that the glow emitted by the suit when displaying patterns isn't bright enough to provide useful illumination, but it does reveal the wearer's position in darkness or dim light.

TBH....for Azzrim....it is power armor....I am wearing my second skin under it...but I almost never have the second skin armor protections up....but the Power armor should be 100% environmentals up. I really don't see this being an Iron Man armor where the faceplate is detachable....

Basic Mechanics of this Encounter:
You may each take a full round of actions per Post. Please don’t post more than one round’s worth of actions. If you absolutely must do so, please spoiler them or make them contingent. The scenario recommends doing this in Initiative order, or going around the table, but I feel that PBP makes that unnecessary. Just post when you can with what you’d do.

Please remember that you may have to include a move action to get to or from each of these challenges (except “Gas.” See below)

Each Round (meaning each Post please) I need a Fortitude save from everyone versus the gas. Yes, it penetrates your seals. It was developed by a Master Assassin, I guess is the rationale.

The Plinth:
There are 2 key holes for mechanical keys. One of those keys you can clearly see is within the Spider’s Nest. The key holes are too far apart for one medium sized creature to be able to reach both at the same time.
Picking a lock in this encounter is 1 full round action.

Spider’s Nest:
To successfully remove the key, a PC must spend a move or full action and succeed at a Sleight of Hand check.
Spending a Full action grants a +2 circumstance bonus for the time and concentration.
Small PCs gain a +2 circumstance bonus to their Sleight of Hand checks to remove the key.

Alternately, A PC can remove the wires with an Engineering check, but doing so takes 1d4+1 rounds (roll it yourself if you choose this option, please.)
Ripping apart a gap in the nest of wires by force requires a full action and a Strength check. But it’s obvious that doing so would cause damage from the monofilament razor wire.

The Mural:
Pushing the buttons, regardless of how many or in what order takes a Full Round. Clearly, I would need to know what order you are pushing them in.
Alternately, a PC can attempt to override the button sequence by using the computer terminal built into the mural (which is an actual working computer) and succeeding at a Computers check. Attempting this check takes 1d4+1 rounds (roll it yourself if you choose this option, please.)

First Aid Kit:
Inside are 10 unmarked needles with different colored substances in each. Each needle holds exactly 6 doses of … something. A single successful Life Science or Medicine check as a full round action will reveal what is in the vials. (Only one check required.)

Gas:
The gas valves can be blocked with a successful Engineering check as a full action. Since it doesn’t say where they are n the room, I’m ruling that the full round action includes the time necessary to move to and from each of them.

So, basically, tell me which challenge you’re attempting, how long it takes you, and roll the skill check. And don’t forget to roll a Fortitude save each round.

So, Chip is neither a subtle nor a skilled skittermander. Is there anything in the room susceptible to being physically damaged other than the strength check for the web? If not, Chip might have to literally sit this part of the adventure out (or just doing untrained rolls to try and aid others).

Edit: regarding the web, any chance hitting it with a fire extinguisher to make it brittle then smashing it with blunt force trauma could help the strength checks?

This encounter is a “conversation” with Breeze, while Biter watches and takes notes. It’s expected to be run as a back-and-forth with both sides able to ask questions. But of course, they’re Laoites, so maybe her answers are truthful, and maybe they’re not. When you ask her a direct question related to your mission or her organization, go ahead and roll a Sense Motive check to see if she’s lying.

If the Burn and Bleed were inflicted by weapons with merciful fusions, does that make those conditions also non-lethal? Or is it just the initial primary damage that's NL?

I'm inclined to say that it's NOT non-lethal, as the merciful infusion says: "While this fusion is active, the weapon’s regular damage becomes nonlethal damage." (emphasis added)

So if the Burn and Bleed are fully Lethal, then Biter will go into negatives, and unless someone both puts out the fire AND stops the bleed, then Biter will die in 3 rounds (IAW the Monster and NPC Death section of the CRB.)

For this fight, weirdly, Breeze's stat block shows 4 Resolve, but Biter and Fang don't list any RP. I'm going to rule that those two also have just enough Resolve to be able to stabilize if needed.
