[PF2/Farol] #2-23 An Agent's Obligation (Inactive)

Game Master Farol

Chronicles | Maps | RPG Chronicles

This is a recruitment thread for 2-23 An Agent's Obligation. It is a 3-6 lvl, non-repeatable scenario. I am planning for this game to start around 24th of May.

This is a GM's selection recruitment, I will keep it open for at least 24 h. One spot is reserved for Rhizzuk, Pirate's Rob PC. Due to that, I will prefer lvl 5 or 6 PC's to match their lvl.

Few notes on what I expect and check during recruitment:
- I like people who posts daily, I will be posting each workday (mon-fri), and sometimes during the weekend, I expect the same from my players (with the exception of weekends which is not obligatory).
- I value RP, this is why I play PBP to learn about your PC's to play through emotions and fears. I prefer players that value RP and descriptions over rolls. I will check your PC posts while doing the selection.

To express your willingness please post in this thread with your PC's profile, if your PC has no profile please link their character sheet.

Radiant Oath

Othello is a lean, varisian man with a pronounced widow's peak. Although he carries a halberd, he believes that no one is beyond redemption.

Radiant Oath

Yarr.

Grand Archive

Farol, hey! It’s ‘Eκάτη. I will be happy to play at your table if I pass the selection.

Zizarc is a half-drow monk, follower on Nocticula. I would not call him a researcher - except in the part that he himself is now exploring the customs of the surface (for himself again). But wherever you need a strong shoulder and protection for other Pathfinders, he is irreplaceable.

Horizon Hunters

Zabu reporting for duty.

Although, I don't actually like doing duty.

But I haven't found a call to report for drinking and wenching.

Vigilant Seal

Interested from the Finadar Forest

Vigilant Seal

A dark-skinned Garundi ranger steps forward.

"The society asked me to offer my services."

Lvl 6.

Thanks for the signups folk, I will let the recruitment open for another 24 h's.

In the meantime couple of questions:

@Zizarc - what happened to that ooze ;) Is Zizarc lvl 3? Or are you still updating them?

@Othello - what if this scenario will be more RP than hack'n'slash?

@Anjo - I saw that your linked character sheet is updated to lvl 6 so that is cool.

@Fearful Berry - nice!

Envoy's Alliance

"Did someone say recruitment?"

Marcus looks back and forth at the assembled lot and grins.

"Perfect."

In the process of levelling up to 4.

Grand Archive

Ooze is a 1st edition character .( I mixed up Lodges when I saw the announcement.

Zizarc is level 3, that's right. No updates are needed.

Horizon Hunters

I am interested in joining. I am new to PbP and have recently become very interested in Pathfinder 2e and love the flavor and thought put into text-based campaigns. Being able to play daily instead of waiting a week for sessions is very attractive to me and PbP would fit my lifestyle greatly. I am learning how this works and I am invested in continuing to learn so if there is anything I need to do or I am not doing right, I take constructive criticism very well.

Character Concept & Profile

Briony Farren
Half-Elf
Ranger

Darkness. No matter how wide the child opened her eyes, it remained. Silence was only interrupted by a soft drip, drip, drip. The sound was suggestive of a need Briony was not aware of until this moment. Pulling her knees closer to her face, she moved her tongue around her mouth, aware now of how dry her throat had become. She wondered how long she had been sitting here in the cold blackness. How long she had dared not move.

Were they gone? Was she safe? Were they safe? As if in answer and on the edge of awareness, the darkness began to lift. Morning had come.

Light. The sunrise, once a thing so taken for granted brought tears to Briony's eyes. Conflicted, the thought occurred to her that maybe the darkness was preferable. Darkness was horror potential. Briony was afraid that the light was horror revealed. The horror of what was left. If anything was left.

Slowly, she stirred and moved to her hands and knees. Her body stiff from sitting in the same position for too long, she tried to stand up. As the light began to fill the cave she had been hiding in, she could imagine her older sister Siofra bounding in, laughing, boasting that Briony could never win hide and seek if she hid in the same place every time they played.

Pressing her hand against the cold wall, she stood and began walking towards to light and the entrance to the cave. With each step she became more aware. A smell. Burnt kindling and wood. Flashes of bright flames intruded on her memory. Another scent, unfamiliar. When the entrance loomed before her, she closed her eyes. The light of morning was unbearable to her eyes after so many hours crouched in the darkness. Squinting, the scene before her came into focus.

Everything was gone. Every one. Burnt to the ground. Stumbling, she fell to her knees in autumn leaves. Grey streaks ran down her face, tears mingling with the ash falling around her. Briony was not sure how long she stayed that way. Eventually she managed to get to her feet, hopelessly searching for any sign of life. The small forest village she had called her home all her life was demolished. As she approached the remains of her dwelling, where she, her sister, their elf mother and human father had lived a simple and happy life together it was apparent that nothing was left. She ran her hands through the ashen remains of what would have been her and Siofra's room. Her hand struck something that was not wholly burnt away. Brushing off leaves and ash, she lifted it from the remains. A bow. Her sister's bow. In disbelief at how it survived the carnage and flame, she stared at it for a few minutes. Something changed in Briony's expression. Putting the bow across her shoulder, she trudged off through the ruin, the only survivor of her family, friends and her past.

Years later, bow in hand, Briony gains the benevolence of a member of the Envoy's Alliance of the Pathfinder Society. Convinced Briony would be a good addition to their ranks she is referred to Urwal of the Verdant Wheel. Now a member of the Verdant Wheel herself, she is most useful as a woodland guide and survivalist. Hardened by a life of solitude, survival and haunted memories, she searches for those responsible. Survivor of the past and harbinger of future vengeance.

Ok Folks,

Here is the list of players:

- Rhizzuk
- Othello
- Zabu
- Fearful Berry
- Anjo
- Marcus

Please head to the gameplay and dot. The game starts next week

==============================

@Zizarc - sorry but I want to run this high tier, and I know that level bump is a thing and is not that bad, but I try to avoid it if I can. Maybe next time.

==============================

@Briony Farren - I might misunderstood something but ;) this game is part of Organized Society Play, which means that you create a character at level 1 who joins Pathfinder Society and then you play them until they reach certain level (in this example 5). If you don't have a society PC that is of level 5 I can't have you at a table. You could be playing pregenerated PC, but this is rarely desirable.

Take a look at the Guide to Organized Play which describes it a bit.

If you are looking for less strict game, there is something called Campaign Mode (all Adventure Paths are played that way), where if you get in you all start at certain level (which does not have to be 1st ;)).

So, please take a look at the guide, create 1st level PC and get for them Pathfinder 2e Society number, wait for recruitment for scenarios ranging 1-4 lvl and sign in. I could be starting such game in couple of weeks if you would be interested to stick with me ;)

@Farol I had a feeling there was something I was missing to this effect. Thank you so much for the information. I have tried to find on the forums a guide for new players, specifically for PFS Organized Play for PbP and I can't seem to find anything that genuinely gives you directions on how to get started so any information like that is great. I will take your advice and keep my eye out.

Also if you don't know about it check out Cottonseed.

It's where most of us found the recruitment call for this adventure. GM's post requests for players for low level adventures pretty commonly over there.

Briony- here is a slide deck the PbP VOs put together with all kinds of links on how to get started, creation of characters and how to find games within the Lodges. If you have any questions let me know.

PbP Lodges and information

I will send you a PM in a bit as well.

It will be fine. I (and my characters) tend to be taciturn, but, my characters allow me to be a bit more extroverted.

Grand Archive

Yep, maybe next time! )
Have a good game to everyone!
