Several desks are arranged along the northern and eastern edges of this small stone alcove. Whereas the stonework leading to this chamber is rough, the walls in the alcove are polished. A single gem rests among the neatly filed papers on the desk, emitting a soft magical luminescence that brightens the small room.

The gem on the desk is a cut alexandrite worth 550 gp.

You all start searching and looking around.

The paperwork on the desk is a priceless collection of Pathfinder Society lore and information describing dozens of unexplored sites. Most are written in an Azlanti dialect further encrypted using an old cipher employed by the Society centuries ago.

Although it is clear to you that this collection is very important, you have a hard time understanding the documents as they are mostly encrypted.

Demoralize Opponent

You can use this skill to cause an opponent to become shaken for a number of rounds. This shaken condition doesn’t stack with other shaken conditions to make an affected creature frightened. The DC of this check is equal to 10 + the target’s Hit Dice + the target’s Wisdom modifier.

Success: If you are successful, the target is shaken for one round. This duration increases by 1 round for every 5 by which you beat the DC. You can only threaten an opponent this way if it is within 30 feet and can clearly see and hear you. Using demoralize on the same creature only extends the duration; it does not create a stronger fear condition.

Fail: The opponent is not shaken.

Action Demoralizing an opponent is a standard action.

Enforcer Ability:

Frightening (Ex): Whenever a thug successfully uses Intimidate to demoralize a creature, the duration of the shaken condition is increased by 1 round. In addition, if the target is shaken for 4 or more rounds, the thug can instead decide to make the target frightened for 1 round. This ability replaces trapfinding.

Mateo is an incredible guy because his earthbreaker hits the chin of the human barbarian so hard that he is immediately knocked out!!

He swings his staff at the dwarven woman.

It is likely a moot point as 1) John would use orc ferocity to stay up for 1 more round and 2) I suspect the fight will not last much longer than that.

Using once per day orc ferocity ability. John is disabled, but still standing and gripping weapon for one round.

Ah, assuming that John was in fact at 7 hp before the arrow wound, John would be still be up and at 3 hp, I believe. I will put John's HP at 3, which saves me the trouble of having to reconstruct the source of prior injuries and whether or not they were previously healed.

I don't think the archer can take an AoO with a bow. That feat should(?) be well out of reach.
