Guy looks on with astonishment as the creature slips away.

"What now? It seems quite unreasonable, and a bit nasty to boot. Should we wake the monks before we take any other action?"

"I do not have the schooling to resolve this dilemma. I would hate to destroy another innocent, even if they are an undead of sorts. It may be best to come back to this problem if we find a solution further in the monastery... hopefully."

VSBR casts Divine Favor and flies toward the tree to see if the manuscript are on it.
"We are better than negotiating with delusional undead. Let's focus on the mission. Manuscript first, reforestation later."

VSBR backs away a bit and let the people with the cutting tools to retreive the missing page, while he overwatches.

Guy is relieved that there is a wall between him and the big worm. He is not hppy that it can burrow under walls, nor the fact that by his estimation he is right on top of an inconveniently dug tunnel. Being next to a righteous paladin, he casts a shield of faith on her (Wyrgan, should give her a +2 AC since it does not stack with her ring) and then moves AWAY from the creature.

It didn't seem like enough damage at the time - or maybe it took a while for the worm to realise it was actually dead cause there was a full five second pause from when the last arrow hit it to when it collapsed to the ground - dead.

A full minute passed then a disembodied female voice shrieked. What? WHAT? Oh COME ON! You GOT to be KIDDING! GET UP YOU NANCY!!!!!

Wyrgan rushes forward to protect the party members on the ground and gets outside with enough time to see Mimi and VeSBeR defeat the creature, which appeared to be a purple worm but now appears to be a slashed pin cushion.
"Well done." he says.

Guy remains in a safe place.

"I'd say your champion was less than effective. We got what we came for and you rejected our help, so we will just be on our way... Except..."

Guy prods one of the mesmerized monks (not the evil one) if he has time.

"We should lay the dryad's soul to rest, one way or the other." VSBR commented now that the team have all parts of the pages, "Might as well figure out how to plants her forest so she would stop bothering us."

He then says to the tree, knowing that the dryad can probably hear him: "Right, we got what we're here for. Now it's our turn to help you. As a creature of nature you should know it very well that tree don't naturally grow into forest overnight, and the natural and probably correct way to do it is to start from the seeds. Our friend here can speed things up for a bit but you gotta let the nature run its course. And since you said you're immortal, you have all the time in the world to wait for them to grow. Give us or show us where the seed is and we can start from there."

The Irori paladin steps up at this point. I suspect she is completely unhinged at this point. I was reading something about vengeful ghosts in the library a while back. And those meditating. They're not meditating, they're drained.

But I agree - more trees should be planted.

Guy starts at the announcement that the monks have been drained. He looks a little closer to see if it is true and if there is something he can do about it.

That is when the papermaking workshop catches on fire and Jathyl appears as a translucent dryad, lithe, graceful, and obviously once beautiful, but now horrifically disfigured—her skin tattooed with mutating words, and impaled with nails and quills. She carries a crooked wand.

I guess if you want something done right - do it yourself she mutters to herself before turning invisible.

If any of those arrows did hit something invisible, Kiti would know precisely where to put the burst. But let's see what Wyrgan does - I usually treat group initiative as in the order of posts.

Wyrgan shakes his head in regret yet offers a small prayer to his god, moves to where he can get the majority of the party and indeed blesses his party members with Powerful Justice (Su) At 11th level, an oathbound paladin may spends one use of his smite evil ability to grant his allies within 10 feet the ability to smite evil, except they only gain the paladin's bonus to damage, +11 to damage, not his smite's attack bonus or ability to bypass DR.

Once Wyrgan casts his aura, and since VSBR can still see her, all those shots except the last one hit. (-(95+44)). Those are enough for Kiti to cover the vengeful spirit in faerie fire so everyone else can see her. The extra 44 points of damage from the aura is still not enough to bring her down (-139)

Lets see what Guy does before VSBR annihilates her

Guy is waiting to see if the foe is destroyed before wasting a spell (i.e., delaying). So let VSBR's attacks land.

Jathyl screams out as VSBR's shots land MURDERHOBO!. Your corpses will burn when I return from death. Her body dissolves into a pinpoint of ghostly light that drifts toward the temple and into the roots of her tree.

Meanwhile Pradnyara is busy trying to contain the fire and stop it reaching the library.

Carlin rushes to help put out the fire, knowing her innate resistance will protect her. i have no spells to use...i'll just use my hands to smother the flames. Anyone have any spells to use?

"I'll help! I have the thing to keep me safer from fire like poof!" Kiti says and transforms into a small fire elemental. She moves toward the fire and casts a spell that produces a ball of water that falls on the flames. "I am a fire that makes water!" she cheers.

VSBR ignores the emtpy threat and kindly asks the Ragathian with their adamantine bastard swords to start "digging" for the tree's root. F91 will join the effort with its talons as well.
"Huh, you don't see a ghost with phylactery very often."

VSBR then will join Kiti with Create Water as well.
