Zamin |
Sorry Zamin for the late response, I was sure I replied to your post last night.Waht the- the man almost boggles at Zamin's inquiry, so deep he was into his reading. I beg your pardon? he says with a clearly indignated tone, Where have you left your manners? Do you not have anything better to do than to bother the patrons of this establishment?
He gives a better look at the boar-man from behind his spectacles, and realizing that the individual in front of him looks pretty dangerous, he clears his throat Ahem- If you really want to know, I'm reading through a recount of the military campaigns that brought the Jistka Imperium to its height centuries ago. He adjusts his spectacles on his nose Would you like to be educated on this matter by one of the most renowned military historian in the City at the Center of the...
Please do not worry GM!! Ignoring this guy is also a possibility to react. ;-)
"Ahhh, that sounds super boring. Anything useful for me? I am a Pathfinder, you know? We smash things ... sometimes!? Maybe history is important to some so tell me what I should know. I have ... ehhh ... where is my pen. Ahh! Nothing to write! Ok, I will listen but honestly after that, can you help the woman at the bar? We need her to fetch a wine bottle!"

I am afraid, but I don't think I can help Heryn with serving drinks, it's not my job the man says, with quite some irritation in his tone. I'm also afraid that you Sir would not be a suitable recipient for my discourse, I doubt your interest would stay lit enough to absorb the knowledge woven in between my words. Now if you'll excuse me, I have a book to read, and I imagine you have a beer to drink, somewhere he returns to his reading, trying to ignore Zamin further.
Zamin |
"Ehhh ... ok ... I guess?" Zamin just shakes his head in disappointment and goes back to the bar.
A beer will help.
He waits.
GM Diaz |
Finally another waitress comes to take over Heryn's position Alright newbloods, follow me, I'll take you to the cellar, the bottle Dreng's looking for should be down there somewhere.
The woman takes you to a storeroom behind the bar and down a flight of stairs to an underground storeroom.
Please position your tokens on the new map.
Tarin. |
Tarin thanks Janira for all of the interesting stories, before following Heryn into the cellar.
Zamin |
"Rougar, right? Yeah! Finally we get going! But why do we need to follow? Why can we not just get the bottle?" Zamin says frustrated.
"Cracking" John |
Finally another waitress comes to take over Heryn's position Alright newbloods, follow me, I'll take you to the cellar, the bottle Dreng's looking for should be down there somewhere.
John scoops up his mug from the table. "Lead the way!"
GM Diaz |
As soon as Heryn's opens the door in the back of the storeroom, Zamin darts in carelessly Hey fella, how about waiting for the proprietor to let you in? she says irritated to the big beastman.
The room has clearly been damaged by some traumatic event, large fissures run through the floor as if it cracked open a long time ago. A broad wooden plank serves as a makeshift bridge to pass over the largest fissure.
"Cracking" John |
Following the careless Zamin, John struts into the room and goes over to examine the board. He turns to speak to the halfling, "Shall I stroll across? Or would you prefer that I toss you?"
Matéo Cole |
Matéo finished up the beer he’s drinking, and places in on the bar top as he walks through the entryway and into the storeroom.
[i]So…how deep is that chasm?[/b] as he poses the question to the crazy one taking point.
Zamin |
Zamin is not interested in Heryn’s words and continues to move slowly across the bridge.
acrobatics to balance : 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (16) - 2 = 14
GM Diaz |
So…how deep is that chasm?
It goes all the way down to the sewers answers the bartender, so you better watch your footing on the plank.
Tarin. |
”Thats a kind offer John, but I should be good just walking.” says Tarin. Who then crosses the plank after Zamin has crossed. He moves cautiously, aware that having already drowned once in his life, he didn’t want to repeat the trick, only this time in raw sewage.
Rouqar Rogue |
Dia looks over the edge with an uncomfortable scowl. "Anyone good with a hammer?"
"I can try." He looks down. "But I'm also good at climbing."
climb speed
"Cracking" John |
”Thats a kind offer John, but I should be good just walking.” says Tarin. Who then crosses the plank after Zamin has crossed. He moves cautiously, aware that having already drowned once in his life, he didn’t want to repeat the trick, only this time in raw sewage.
"Suit yourself." John smiles as he attempts to cross the plank and join the others.
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23GM Diaz |
As soon as John is halfway through crossing the plank, the wood cracks and breaks, and the half-orc falls into the fissure.
@John please make a Reflex save.
"Cracking" John |
"Wha-?" John exclaims as he feels the plank cranking beneath him. "They don't make them like they used to!"
He frantically reaches for a ledge.
Reflex: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15
GM Diaz |
For a moment John thought he could avoid the fall by clinging to something, but he wasn't quick enough and he soon hits the bottom with his buttocks.
Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 6
@John please make a Climb check to get back up with the others.
"Cracking" John |
John rubs his backside and attempts to climb back up to the others.
Climb: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14
GM Diaz |
John manages to get out of the fissure as easily as he fell into it. But how will the other make it to the other side?
Zamin |
Whose already on the other side? Zamin crossed first, right?
GM Diaz |
Whose already on the other side? Zamin crossed first, right?
I took into consideration your tokens position, right now only Tarin and John made it to the other side.
10 feet running start is a DC 10?
Correct.
can I climb down and back up and hold a rope for people?
Sure, since you have climb speed.
Matéo Cole |
athletics check with running start: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21
Matèo throws caution to the wind. He backs up, his ass hitting the wall. He then runs and takes a leap, as his legs are pretty powerfully built as he has swung his earth breaker a couple hundreds of not thousands of times. He easily clears the pit before him, and ‘catches’ himself with a bookcase.
Zamin |
Hi GM, I did not move my token because I did not know if my acrobatics roll was ok. Moved token into the next room.
GM Diaz |
What will the DC be if we wait for a rope?
If you manage to use a knotted rope to get into the fissure and another to get out of it, you would have to make two DC 5 Climb checks. With unknotted ropes the DC rises to 15.
Hi GM, I did not move my token because I did not know if my acrobatics roll was ok. Moved token into the next room.
I'm sorry Zamin, but I considered Tarin and John to have crossed the plank before you, so you're still on the entrance side.
Zamin |
Ok GM, but Zamin declared to cross as the first person. See here.
In case your ruling stands:
acrobatics to jump : 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (13) - 2 = 11
GM Diaz |
Ok GM, but Zamin declared to cross as the first person. See here.
My ruling stands, because I take into account where your token on the map is, not just what you declare on your post. If you say you move but don't move your token I take for granted that you didn't move.
Anyway, your Acrobatic check is a success, so you can jump over the fissure.
Tarin. |
"Is that everyone across now? Shall we see if we can find the bottle?"
Tarin glances at John.
"That looked quite painful, are you in need of any medical assistance?"
GM Diaz |
Well, if any of you kind gentlemen would be so kind as to make this poor fragile bartender cross the chasm in some way, that would be appreciated the sarcasm in Heryn's words is so sharp it can cut you.
You can put a knotted rope on both sides of the chasm to help her climb down and back up, or find a quicker and safer alternative somehow.
GM Diaz |
Thank you Mister... Cat Heryn's says to Rouqar as soon as he make it to the other side. Now, if you follow me I show you where the bottle is and she starts walking toward the back of the room.
The lower part of the room is full of dusty bottles on dusty shelves, We keep our "reserve" here, wines and liquors that only certain people can drink she looks through some of the shelves, checking some labels attached to them.
Alright, your bottle should be on this shelf, let's see... That one, on the top level she points at a very dark bottle at the top of the shelf Hey you! she calls for Zamin, be a dear and pick up the bottle, would you? she's not very tall, but Zamin shouldn't have any issue reaching the top shelf.
GM Diaz |
As Zamin tries to remove the bottle from its place you all hear a loud "click". Immediately the whole wine rack retreats itself and slides into the wall on its right, revealing a secret chamber. A sturdy silver chain jutting from the ceiling ends in a glowing orb that radiates yellow light across the rectangular room. A simple desk of polished wood, stacked with documents and scattered notes, shelters a pair of wooden chests against the south wall. A series of cracks along the eastern and western walls form makeshift entrances into exposed caverns.
Well, this is a surprise says Heryn, her eyes shut in amazement, I hope my bottles are still intact though.
Zamin |
Zamin looks totally surprised.
"Ahh, what is this??? Is this the real mission? Is this like a secret chamber where we get the real information about what we need to do?" he says and starts walking into the room.
"Cracking" John |
A series of cracks along the eastern and western walls form makeshift entrances into exposed caverns.
Well, this is a surprise says Heryn, her eyes shut in amazement, I hope my bottles are still intact though.
"Well, ho-ho! What is this?" John bellows at the sight. The half-orc brushes his way past the others to enter into the newly-discovered room. He scans the room, hoping to discern what secrets it may hold.
Perception: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6Matéo Cole |
Matéo looks in, scanning the room. Hmm…I could use a place like this to just hang out in and sleep off some of my late nights. he muses to himself. He steps in after a few others, and goes to check over the first chest for any traps or deterrents.
chest 1 perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
chest 2 perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23
Presuming that all seems clear on either or both chests, he will proceed to attempt to open each chest [ooc]chest order to open is first then second as per perception roll[ooc]
disable device: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8
Zamin |
perception : 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24
Zamin also looks around.
Tarin. |
Tarin raises a quizzical eyebrow at the groups discovery, before poking his head around the corner to provide some advice as the rest of the party search.
Perception to aid Zamin: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 2 = 12
Tarin gives a +4 to aid as he is a very helpful halfling.
He then turns to John.
"Do you need some medical attention for that injury John?"
