As you back off into the hallway, the kishalee engineers keep their weapons trained on you. As soon as you're out of sight you can hear them raising their voices. Those of you who have (somehow) studied Kishaleen recognize that they're calling for reinforcements to deal with escaped captives.

I was afraid of that... It seems AP writers have gotten better over time with including Reinforcements mechanics.

Sivvca somehow understands the foul speech. Actually, she only speaks Vulgar Kishaleen. I assume they're close enough? Old English versus modern English? "Oh no... reinforcements. Let's just push through them. What's a turret to ones such as we?" She puffs out her chest confidently. Yeah... I don't want to play around with reinforcements. This is all a dreamscape anyway, let's escape this joint and get our SP/HP back.

While the party accelerates, Shocca's grenade lands amid the kishalee and erupts with a cascade of lightning. Your foes weather the assault, and you note the the siege robot seems particularly resistant to the explosion. One of the kishalee call out "They're resisting!!!" in Kishaleen as they ready to fight back.

First, the siege robot loads and fires an anti-personnel missile, which flies on a horizontal trajectory and impacts the wall behind you before erupting in a fiery burst.

Ajithu Reflex: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (10) + 10 = 20
Shocca Reflex: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (13) + 14 = 27
Arc Reflex: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (13) + 15 = 28

Ajithu is slow to dodge and is caught by the worst of the blast, while the other two at least minimize their injuries (Ajithu takes 52 dmg, Shocca 26 dmg, and Arc 1 dmg after resists) Before the smoke has even fully cleared, you see two of the kishalee engineers have drawn chainsaw-like blades and are rushing toward you. Yellow meets Ajithu up close and finds the perfect opening to land two brutal hits (Crit and hit for 102 dmg plus 2d8 bleed). Pink proves far less effective against Shocca, slashing in twice but not finding a way to slice through her powerful armor. In the back, the remaining two engineers draw massive artillery lasers and fire past their allies. Crackling red beams impact Shocca and Ajithu both. (Hit on Ajithu for 43 dmg and a Crit on Shocca for 62 dmg plus 2d6 burn)

Dazed from the overwhelming counterattack, you can't help but notice that the missile attack caused the walls to be scorched around you, but the wood neither caught fire not seems meaningfully damaged. An odd thing to notice amid this sudden life or death struggle. These engineers have been hitting the gym and the shooting range apparently... sorry both of you!

At the start of your respective turns, you take bleed and burn damage. For burn you can make a Reflex save at the end of your turn to end burning. For bleed you need to receive a heal to end it.

Ajithu backs off and heals, his bleeding immediately halting. Arc steps in to take the heat off his ally and scores a brutal slash before the kishalee can raise its chain-blade to deflect his next two attacks. Shocca tries to back off, but the pink kishalee engineer is out for blood and carves a path across her hind tentacles as she retreats (41 dmg). Her shot is just as well aimed and punches a needle into the kishalee's shoulder.

The siege robot turns its rotary cannon upon Arc, who at least has some serious cover thanks to the other machinery in the way. A hail of flechettes shred the half-repaired mech but Arc remains unscathed. He dodges and deflects two attacks from yellow, but when pink rushes around him and flanks, he's not able to cover his back (you do get an AoO as pink moves in). Pink tears into Arc's back (44 dmg after DR).

To the west, the artillery laser wielding engineers move to get clearer shots on Ajithu. One crackling beam proves a direct hit, while the other blackens the wall next to the intrepid sivv mystic. (36 dmg)

Shocca's flight earns another opportunistic attack from the chainsaw-wielding kishalee. Shockingly, pink proves inspired in its continued assault and lands another slash. (Unlucky hit for 42 dmg) Her needle down the hallway deflects off the light armor the kishalee is wearing. This distraction at least gives Ajithu the opening to get another heal in and escape without any further surprises from the engineer.

The blade that perhaps was Skyndi in another life hums discordantly as Arc slides it through two kishalee. Their bodies part for it, the pieces toppling to the floor. Arc is left as the only target for his foes, and both the two kishalee and the robot unload their lasers and rotary cannons in his direction. Even with cover from the half-destroyed bot next to him, several flechettes punch into Arc's leg (31 dmg after DR). One laser also connects, but his innate connection to solar energy protects him from the worst of it (12 dmg after resist)

Arc rushes forth, wreathed in flame. The engineer holds first and doesn't get knocked back by the stellar rush, but is burned by the flames that follow. A moment later Shocca turns the corner and punches two needles into red. That engineer staggers under the impact, but just barely remains standing. The siege robot turns its rotary cannon on Arc, laying down a hail of fire. Arc is showered by tiny impacts but his armor holds up and deflects the lot of them.

The two remaining engineers wisely toss aside their cannons and switch to small buzzblades. Both swing at Arc but he ducks and dodges to evade their attacks.

While Ajithu's icy bolt deflects off the siege robot's armor, Shocca lands one shot and Arc impacts the bot with a burning dash. Badly scorched circuits pop and crack and soon the half-repaired robot is once again fully in need of repair.

Shocca moves in and readies for the inevitable clash. The smaller room is mostly taken up with a sprawling computer system consisting of several connected modules in portable cases. The largest screen shows an isomorphic map in glowing green. Much of the map convers what you assume is the surrounding jungle, but it also shows the interior layout of the fort you're in in miniature detail - a fact that those of you with uncanny knowledge of Kishaleen can confirm. It appears that the temporary fort's sole entrance and exit lies to the east.

You suspect that if you could get some quality time with this system, you might be able to glean valuable info for the Sivvan cause. (Computers check and some time outside of combat)

Not sure what you mean Ajithu - command undead doesn't animate dead bodies? Did you mean animate dead? If so, it's touch range so you'd be able to animate a single body in the one round you have free.

Two armored kishalee charge around the corner, massive axes already raised high. Following behind them is a far more lightly armed and armored kishalee with an authoritative air around them. They wield a pistol in one hand and glowing blue knife in the others and have their bald head dusted in striking silver chalk.

Shocca fires at the first kishalee guard that comes into view, punching a needle between armored plates. The kishalee in the back barks out orders - "Keep them at bay, I will subdue the ones in the back." The commander then tumbles into cover behind some storage crates where she abruptly blends in and becomes hard to see. She follows by firing a sudden laser beam at Shocca that hits her square in the chest. (68 fire dmg, you're left flat-footed and off-target for 1 rd)

The other two kishalee have much worse luck against Arc. He sidesteps both furious swings of their oversized axes.
