How cool! I've always wanted to go since reading American Gods.

Mixed feelings about that, in all honesty. I went there BEFORE I knew it was in American Gods, so when I found out about that I thought it was cool, but now it feels kind of sour knowing Neil Gaiman's given up any pretense of not being a CREEPAZOID!!! >:(

Going to be leaving tomorrow on a family trip to Milwaukee for a few days. I'll return on Friday, so if a post is needed from me in the meantime, please feel free to bot me. See you then! :D
GM Cellion
Welcome back!
Shoccaar Nemmac
I'll be going on a trip and offline from 6/21 to 6/27! I'll try to get online and post once or twice in the week but please bot where necessary.

I hasten to add that Arcalinte's statement was meant to be a soft encouragement to stay too: "This thing MIGHT be able to help you restore your home, but if you help us you WILL stop the same thing from happening to any other home."

Given our skillsets and circumstances, there's no way around the main danger of this room, I think. We may just have to eat whatever "physical and spiritual harm" this room does and hope Shocca can cure us after the fact. <_<
Ajithu-Ko
Yes, I just hope it's as simple as "points of harm", rather than "trapping ones soul in a different vessel" like before. *Shudder*
Shoccaar Nemmac
Yeah, sometimes you just gotta eat the trap a little! Where's a barbarian when you need one. That's what the Hypopens are for, I guess.
Shoccaar Nemmac
Yeah that's... a roll for sure!

Question, GM: Do Arcalinte's Wide-Spectrum Ocular Implants give him any advantage on the miss chance by seeing the body heat the creatures give off? I imagine they don't negate it ENTIRELY, if you're invisible in the regular spectrum you're invisible in the infrared and ultraviolet ones too. But unless they're undead or completely artificial creatures, they should be giving off some body heat, right?
GM Cellion
Though they talk about wider spectrum, they don't grant any additional senses, so no. You're still at 50% miss chance.
It's one of those weird items where the flavor oversells their actual capabilities.

FYI I will be away in nature and unable to post this coming weekend, Saturday 9/13-9/14. I will return and resume posting that Sunday evening (US/Pacific time).

I think those super serums come back on a Miss the same way my other biohacks do! I'm using the Conserving fusion that "ammunition is not consumed, as though the weapon had never been fired." And the Biohacks rule is "If you are making a ranged attack and miss your target, the biohack is expended along with the attack’s ammunition."
So I think the superserums pop back into the rifle along with the ammunition!
GM Cellion
Ooh! Nice. I didn't realize it worked for all biohacks.
Shoccaar Nemmac
Yeah, it's tough to keep it all straight! Some abilities, like my Tranq darts, aren't Biohacks so they don't benefit from it.
GM Cellion
You have the full defensive info from Shocca's scan. Take a look upthread in gameplay.
Shoccaar Nemmac
Yeah, fire might be extra helpful against it's fast healing. Incorporeal plus magic resistance is a tough combo though.
GM Cellion
Worth mentioning that the incorporeal gets triggered by a reaction, and then it only lasts until the start of Vheiransch's turn. Otherwise it is solid.
Ajithu-Ko
Yeah :sweats:
Ajithu is going to be happy if he can just get rid of the minions.
Shoccaar Nemmac
Thank goodness for that! I had figured it was in that room or the friendly room. Both had too many goodies lining the shelves. I'd totally forgotten about this death-terminal though.

Just an announcement, I'll be joining my family on a trip to Florida from the 11th to the 20th, so please feel free to bot my character in my absence.

"FLORIDA MAN needs bot'ing"
GM Cellion
Currently sick. Will update soon.
Ajithu-Ko
Hello. This is an FYI that I'll be away in nature starting this coming Friday 10/17, returning Sunday 10/19 when I will catch up and resume posting.
As always my hope is that since this is a weekend the disruption will be minimal to none. Bot as necessary.
GM Cellion
Heads up that I'll be traveling for work the next couple of weeks. At the very least updates will come at weird times, but there may be some gaps as well depending on internet availability.
We're coming in to the final stretch. While the systems of the Ark are still in opposition to your interference, you have overcome the greatest threats it can muster, so from here on its mostly a question of what you want to DO with what remains. The result of any skills you invoke to accomplish your objectives will determine exactly how well things go, but you should assume that you have some freedom in determining what happens to the Starstone, Ark, and any of its inhabitants. We won't be playing out the gory details (unless you want to :))

So Arcalinte's suggestion is to try and redirect the whole Ark back to Absalom Station, so it and the technology it has aboard can be studied and the Pact Worlds can keep an eye on the frozen sivv while they decide how to proceed.
While no stranger to blowing up giant sivv weapon installations, Arcalinte is a Sarenite, and Sarenites believe in redemption.
Shoccaar Nemmac
Agreed, or at least closer to the Station than the next planet. Not close enough to be immediately panic-inducing, but less than a day's flight.
Arcalinte Soter
|
To clarify, GM, you want us to describe what we do aboard the Ark AND the immediate arrival in Absalom Station space, or just on the Ark itself, so we roleplay out what happens when we show up once the forums are back?
GM Cellion
Just your plan aboard the Ark.
Ajithu-Ko
Still thinking it over. Hoping to formulate something before the paizo blackout arrives.

"Soter to Absalom. Soter to Absalom. This is Venture-Captain Arcalinte Soter of the Starfinder Society. The Devastation Ark has been disabled, we have the Starstone secured. We require an escort to Absalom Station to return it. We've won!"

What a wild phone call to receive! Very 'Independence Day' feeling. Epic ending.
