Arc translates, then warns you, then the ceiling buckles with a shower of sparks emitting from new gaps. With a tremendous boom, the ceiling bursts open to release a truly massive scorpion-like construct. (See handouts) A high keening hum emits from it as it skitters across the surface of the ceiling in defiance of gravity. At the same time, its tail swivels to sweep its "gaze" over the four of you.

Achlyss shields up. The Sivv Sentinel crawls along the ceiling, pointed legs touching the metal only on their absolute tips. Lights begin running up the length of its "tail" for a moment before a veritable flood of lightning blasts down to engulf your whole team. Luckily, you're all quick on your feat and take cover or otherwise protect yourselves from the lightning.

Shocca's first action is a move action to identify, so:
Shocca scans the robot, her microlab letting her get some understanding of its internal and external structures. This "Sentinel" appears highly resistant to physical harm not made with adamantine weapons, but is vulnerable to electricity. It's ranged armament includes a shock emitter you just experienced, as well as an energy-inversion device equivalent to a powerful zero rifle. Its legs are not magnetic, but some kind of incredibly advanced technology indistinguishable for magical spider climbing spells.

Shocca thinks through her arsenal. Physical, Acid, Flame, shucks. She thinks through her companions' weapons, which she's seen many times in action at this point. Sonic - short range, Sonic - melee, Cold... She scurries along the floor to spread out and away from that lightning, filling the group in on what she knows. "Seems we're a bit shorthanded on electrical weapons. I can make this 'bot vulnerable to sonic weapons if I can get a needle through that plate..." She smiles light heartedly as Achlyss threatens the robot. "We've got to find you an extra jet pack, so you don't have to yell at folks to get them to fight you." She winks with mirth.

Ajithu's spell settles over the Sivv Sentinel and most of your party, adding an expectant tension to the air as the spell readies to intercept any incoming lightning. The Sentinel obliges immediately, sending another cascading rain of bolts down upon your group. The spell intercepts several of them, partially protecting the three of you that are exposed.

The Sentinel blocks the returning electrical blast, but still suffers badly as the shock runs through its circuits. Achlyss' singing disk bounces off its heavy, reinforced armor, as does a needle from Shocca. Its clear this robot has few, if any, gaps in its armored plating.

"Sarenrae help me, it's a good thing those bryvath's messed with my head so thoroughly or I'd probably have the self-awareness not to attempt what I'm about to!" Arcalinte says as he activates his jetpack one more time and blasts into the air towards the robot.

Standard action: Activate Jetpack, Move Action: Fly up to Sentinel.

Then he tries as much as he can to close the gap and strike at any weakspot in its armor immediately obvious to him.

As Arc flies up, the Sentinel raises a leg to intercept him. The leg wavers, and then strikes with incredible speed and force, piercing through Arc's armor and out the other side of his leg (dealing 79 damage after DR). The injury knocks the wind out of Arc, slowing his attack enough that it bounces harmlessly off the Sentinel's carapace. The loss of momentum also exposes Arc to a follow-up pair of stabs that perforate the brave solarian's chest (dealing 73 and 62 dmg after DR). The gaping holes left behind are clearly fatal, and his armor seals off to protect him as Arc loses consciousness and goes into shock.

A synthesized voice echoes from all around you, speaking in Sivvan.

While Ajithu sends a surge of healing into Arc, Shocca carefully aims her needler and lands a shot. The Sentinel's armor absorbs most of the hit, but not all of it, allowing her inhibitor biohack to work its technological magic. The robot's exterior grows pitted and vulnerable to acid. I know I have another turn left but thought it might be best to get feedback on that plan before we execute.

"Dawn...Light," he croaks, hoping the sudden signal he's not out of the fight yet will divide the Sivv Sentinel's attention long enough that its attacks miss Achlyss.

Achlyss' singing disk sails through the air once more and connects solidly with the Sentinel once more. The vibration it imparts is certainly damaging the Sentinel, but slowly at best. The Sentinel swivels once more, firing its ice beam at Ajithu and Achlyss. Ajithu is able to dive aside and dodge the supercooled beam with help from Arc's distraction, but the second catches Achlyss. However his forcefield, natural resistance to cold, and his entropic mastery all pull together to almost nullify the attack (After forcefield thp, cold resist and mitigate, you take 3 cold damage)

The second of Shocca's acid jets proves exceptionally devastating compounded with the Sentinel's acid vulnerability. Achlyss lands another hit as well with his singing disk before it arcs back to his hand. You note that thanks to the combined sonic and acidic assault, the robot is finally looking more significantly damaged. Arc and Ajithu run interference, moving and firing their weapons to draw attention.

The Sentinel skitters its way across the ceiling before suddenly releasing its magnetic cling. It reverses in mid air as it falls, swiveling to land legs first atop Arc and Achlyss!

There's no need to spend resolve points to stabilize under these house rules (nor can you). Instead you have a full minute for someone to raise you above 0 HP and prevent you from dying, rather than bleeding out 1 RP per sound. While Ajithu slips away from the Sentinel, Achlyss swings in with two entropic strikes. Each one impacts the armored plating of the robot, but doesn't manage to impart its unmaking energies into the creature. Arc starts trying to crawl slowly out to the safety of his allies. Shocca finds a moment of inspiration and lands two successive hits, mangling the Sentinel's internal components with pulses of acid. It seems very badly damaged, but doesn't fall.

Instead, the robot strikes back, legs lancing out at Achlyss. He manages to deflect one leg while the second stabs him in the arm. (After mitigate, DR, and temp hp, taking 51 damage)
