Yarsox suddenly begins flipping switches and piles on the throttle. Flying straight at the red pirate, engaging in a game of chicken that looks for a moment like Yarsox is planning on ramming their opponent.

Yarsox looses the game of chicken though, and has to swerve around Red, exposing the Pegasus to enemy fire.

Nuva'gek's hands slip on the gunnery controls and he barely misses, but Grognard manages to shoot out Yellow's Starboard Shield.

Turning his comms toward the orange ship Naitier taunts them to distract their aim, "if you did have active scanners you might have noticed that much of the damage you have done to our shields has been undone. Reviewing our sensor logs though, it would seem you do not have that same opportunity."

Glancing at the back of the ship they add, "I understand, just a few evenings ago my ability in Dancing Queens was so insignificant that losing almost felt like a mercy. You will not succeed at bringing us down."

Gus continues to turn valves, adjust gauges, and occasionally hits something with a wrench trying to get more power to Triage in engineering.

Yarsox continues his loop-de-loops. The pirates grumble, "Stay still, ye're makin' me lose me lunch!'

GUNNERY

Naitier successfully taunts Orange's guns, leaving the Orange pilot saying, "Yarr, I don' know what they said, but it sure were confusin'."

Nuva'gek has a moment of despair. Just as the vesk is banging his head against the gunnery console, a little compartment opens up with a fresh, hot cup of Poshkettle tea for him. Next to it is a note. Drink up, take a deep breath and then try again. It will get better. -- Poshkettle Tea.

Sashkri, who has been taking notes in the corner all this time, is fascinated. "When did Charli put that in? Do we all have compartments like that, hidden all over the ship?"

Meanwhile, Grognard's hand temporarily slips on the gun controls, but then the stubborn dwarf alters his grip and hits Yellow -- right through the hole in Yellow's shield.

Those Engines are malfunctioning! Yellow is in a baaaad way!

Meanwhile, Yellow and Orange both shoot.

Seeing the tea and thinking back to the words of encouragement shared by Charli before they departed, Nuva'gek takes the tea, breathes in deeply to calm himself and sips long and deep. Once the final KA-BOOM ends starship combat, Sashrki shrugs. "Sure, scan the wreckage for clues and survivors. Knowing where this pirate base is could be helpful to the missions who follow. Once all that is done, we'll finish our survey."

You are able to rescue two living but very injured pirate survivors, and manage to rig up a brig for them in the Pegasus's storage locker. From the data on board the ships, you're able to discover the current location of the pirate base, and general numbers there.

"Though who wants to bet they'll all be cleared out before the next Starfinder mission gets back here?" Sashkri asks. "Are you ready to survey the fourth planet?"

Spoiler:

This planetoid is furthest from the sun and very cold. There are interesting crater patterns on the surface indicating that it once collided with another planetary body. It may have originally been an asteroid that got knocked into orbit around this sun.
