Spell slots from Spellcasting (Sorcerer) and Pact Magic (Warlock) are kept separate, but you can cast Sorcerer spells with Warlock slots and vice versa. 1 or 2 levels of Warlock is a quite popular dip for Sorcerers (though usually people tend to wait until they get the feat/ability bonus at level 4).
Great Weapon Master is a superb feat for Barbarians.

I too planned to Multiclass, but that wouldn't be until after level 8 Probably. And I don't know how high we get in levels in this AP/Module. But 2 rogue/2 fighter are pretty great dips hah.
Warlock is a great dip for Sorcerers because you can cheese it by burning Warlock spells for sorcery points before a short rest.
Its also a fun dip for paladins, Hexblade paladins abound.
I've got to decide if I want to take another feat, or a simple +2.... hm. Resilient Is tempting. Round out my Con to a 16, and give me prof. in con saves... Actually sounds pretty good. But so does Peircer and skill expert.

Wow. A great combo! By the way, do you think the opposite makes sense - warlock dip into a sorcerer? Any such (not so) obvious profits? I need it for another game.

Depends on how deep the dip :p
Sorcerer gives some level 1 spell slots you can burn for Shield, while using your priced Warlock slots for bigger things. If you go up to Sorcerer 3 (almost not a dip anymore) you get Metamagic, or can use sorcerer points to get more slots if you stop at level 2.
Divine Soul is common, for the +2d4 to one save and access to cleric spells (Bless!).
Also, starting Sorcerer gives you Con saving throws.

I feel like toughening up my character may be best. So I'll be taking Resilient (con) I get the feeling con saves may be important, and a +1 to hit/damage I don't think will be as much a benefit.

Most campaigns I've seen or heard about take players up to levels 9-12, so that is what we should probably expect, I guess. Now, according to that, it's not a bad idea to have a rough sketch of what you want to do in the character's future in regards to ability score increases, feats, and class features. These games in which you gain power by level punish making wrong decisions because once you select your level up gains, your can't go back, and thus you might regret your choices several levels after.
For example, this is my plan:
3 levels in Artificer to get Thunder Gauntlets
6 levels in Wizard (Bladesinger) to get Bladesong, Extra Attack with cantrips and an ability increase (which will go to Int)
That's for 9 levels, if we go further the character will probably go back to Artificer. If we fall short, however... well, then I'll have a problem :p
In any case, kind GMs (and I think we are in good hands here) usually let you adjust some wrongly chosen options. But don't abuse that! :P

Just a few items to business to address in this message...
FIRST OF ALL, I want to wish a happy holidays and Merry Christmas to all of you! Though we haven't been at this game very long, I have found it rewarding. All of you are a big reason why. I can't wait to see where we are this time next year!
Moving on to item #2, I have been spending a great deal of time with the adventure book. As I believe I have mentioned, not only am I running Curse of Strahd for this group, but also for an in-person group here at home. I have come to some conclusions regarding this adventure for both groups: though the adventure as written allows for the possibility of a "grand tour" of Barovia, with adventures in every location, I am planning on focusing on key locations that will help you get to the castle.
This adventure, with all of the possibilities, is both a boon and a curse. It's great that there are so many possibilities, and so much replayability. I'm guessing that if any of you ever have the opportunity to play this again, you may adventure in places that I didn't take you. On the other hand, unless the DM is choosey about which areas to prepare for adventure, you risk being bogged down, wondering when exactly you'll be facing off against the guy who lives up in the castle.
With all this in mind, I am planning on doing a fresh draw from the Tarokka deck. You'll be meeting an interesting lady very soon who would like to fill you all in on the "Fortunes of Ravenloft."
I know there was a "dream" that happened before I came on board as the DM, but I would prefer to pull these cards again and see where we are.
FINALLY, our last item of business is our missing cleric. Shurq has not posted in quite some time. I have sent her a PM, but have not heard back.
I believe I will proceed in this fashion: Shurq will continue to accompany all of you to your next destination. Should the player return, of course we will welcome them back. If we don't hear from Shurq on or about January 5th, we'll decide what to do. I have a few other games here, and I may make some posts in those groups to see if anyone would like to consider playing a cleric here.

Well, as I've said before, if you feel some divine support is needed after 01/05, Sven is always willing to tweak his character to a "Watcha mean? I've always been a cleric!".

greetings all, Things are calming down now (sorry about being away, things never settled after they went crazy) So, I'm hoping to get back into the swing of PbP over the course of the coming week.

Hey GM Quirk
Sorry for my absence, November and December were pretty crazy for me and I just checked out of work and any other distractions for while over the holidays.
Ready and willing to continue with Shurq if you'll have me!

I have been extra busy this weekend preparing for a convention that is local to me. I'll be running and playing D&D at Winter Fantasy starting on Wednesday night. I have been busy 3D printing scenery and minis and prepping a couple of adventures I have been assigned. This is a big D&D Adventurer's League convention. I'm liking the stories they are telling in their adventures.
Anyway, come hell or high water, I will have this card reading done before the con begins. I may be slow posting after that for a few days.

I added in the description of the date of fortune-telling on the cards on which page to look for a transcript, if you don't mind. If it was inappropriate - I'm sorry, delete it.

here. I tried to make a post a while ago when we first encountered the city guards, but it got ate I think. Then, I wrote out a post before turning in for bed, I clicked submit... I, I thought I did. But I might have clicked preview and called it a day. sorry on that.

Hello everyone!
I'm going away for two weeks, and I'll be without internet at all. This is a yoga and meditation retreat with complete disconnection from the outside world. I will be in touch from May 15, I will start playing from about the 16th. I tried to reduce the number of games to a minimum (without starting to play new oneshots for some time), with such an eye that after returning I only needed to read a couple of hundred posts, and not around a thousand, as it could be with my usual 15+ games at the same time. So I think I'll switch back on quickly!
Don't lose me, I will definitely come back and continue playing!

Hey guys! I'm back, I've dealt with most of the most vital things that have accumulated over the two weeks of my absence, and I'm going back to the games (by the way, the retreat was amazing!). As I expected, there are several hundred messages waiting for me on the forum, which I will read smoothly. The deadline for returning to absolutely all games is Saturday. I hug everyone! See you in gameplay thread .)
