Alia, Mia, and Angelica have joined you as well. Angelica pulls a torch from her back pack and lights it on fire with flint and steel. They all shriek seeing the mouth of teeth covering the entrance.

A few moments after Matthew follows the ladies you see the mouth of the land shark smash upon the opening. After a few bites it backs off.

He waves on Jeler and waits for everyone to enter the tunnel before he follows.

Now with the exit secure and nothing was likely to get by that land shark he moves to the front behind Jeler. The tunnel widened out to hold a large creature and then he pulled his greatsword.

Red Quest
With the bit of light from Angelica and dancing lights from Mia, there is plenty of light. Jeler do you try to move quietly in the darkness or just in the light?

As you travel further into the tunnel it begins to branch off at 100 foot intervals. After the third new branch you hear movement from ahead and from behind... chittering, clacking, and skittering of a multitude of feet.

As you hear them coming you may prepare in surprise round.

The satyr sat in the orange pool and thought. "Yeah. For sure. I have a red glowing heavy mace in my Inventory. I've never used it. It looks to damn close to Asmodeus's holy symbol. Hopefully I can at least sell it for cash..or credit."

"Yeah", Zaidel sighed. "I'm trying to be mindful of my decisions. When I first got here to Arcanium, I was a pretty weak satyr comparatively; the only exception is higher Charisma than normal. Now I only lag behind other satyr's in Constitution only. Strength, Dex, and all my mental stats exceed standard satyr stats. Anyway, it is said that Damnation happens by Degrees. Most people don't suddenly become evil, but get worn by slights, perceived insults, and their own failings little by little daily. We're the Good Guys; we have to do good things", the caydenite spoke.

As the others helped Jeler on his Red Quest, Zaidel finally completed his Daily Quest. Sadly it took up the whole day. Waiting for the others to return, Zaidel took this opportunity to wander the temple. The caydenite was fortunate to see Cayden Caliean at the bar, enjoying his ale with the mortals. Zaidel made some small talk with his god then continued his tour of the temple. The bardic cleric was looking for the best place to set up a stage. Zaidel figured the best way to serve the temple when he was here was to be the entertainment for the faithful and curious.

Noticing Aurora Rose at her station at the bar, Zaidel sat at one of the stools across from her, ordered a beer, and asked more about her, how long was she in the familia, has New Faces always been her home, favorite pastimes, being friendly t his fellow familia member.

"Well, it certainly looks like this temple with be our base of operation as well, unless Cayden sends us elsewhere. O r the hunt for Dark Souls take us far a field", the satyr replies. Feeling his blue portal tattoo, the cleric smiles. "But it doesn't look like I need to be that far away, despite my travels. I really like it here! Once I entered the tavern, I felt such a sense of 'home', ya know. Like a part of me has always been here."

"Wow! Painting AND beer crafting! That's amazing. One of these days, if you don't mind, I'd like to see some of your work", Zaidel gushed. "My favorite pasttime so far is singing and playing music. I hope to use that gift to help out the temple with entertaining the patrons."

"I spent the whole damn day doing a Daily Quest. I haven't had a chance to see much of New Faces. I'm hoping to take some party members shopping tomorrow. Is there a place in town you go for clothing that you like?" Diplomacy: 1d20 + 21 ⇒ (15) + 21 = 36

Zaidel winces a little at missing our on the Red Quest. "Hey, boss. The Daily Quest whip my a$$ today. The new muscles I got from the Elixir of Strength made the pushups and situps a breeze, but those damn jumping jacks and 5k run ruined me", Zaidel sighed.

Zaidel eyes lit up at the idea of visiting other familias. "Sure, Boss. I'd love to. Thank you." The satyr looks around leans in to speak in hushed tones. "Boss, if you don't mind me asking? What's your current relationship with Calistra right now. Friendly or adversarial?"


Zaidel:
"Spade is his own man. Yeah we know that feeling well, 'home'. Sure, my studio is a few blocks away. Yes that would be helpful. Getting a good deal you would want to talk with the hawkers they are fine with bartering the price. If you want excellent quality go to Cosmo Cat Boutique."


Zaidel:
He simply nods. Then he says, "Once you get a suitable gift we can go. Friendly at least to my knowledge. We will find out."

Some warders take up the defense of a sole person, and protect them above all others. Be they hired, inspired, or simply forced into it, a sworn protector warder is known for devotion and service to their chosen ward. These sworn protectors are highly valued, as they are quite skilled and effective at deterring threats.

Guardianship (Ex)
At 1st level, the sworn protector may select a ward, a person whom she must protect no matter what the cost. When in combat and the sworn protector’s ward is within 10ft of their ward’s position, the ward gains a +1 morale bonus to their AC and savings throws. This bonus increases by +1 at 5th level, and every four levels after that (9th, 13th, and 17th level). Additionally, the sworn protector may add her guardianship bonus to her attack and damage rolls as a morale bonus if the ward is within the sworn protector’s guardianship range. This radius increases by 10ft at 6th and again at 12th level. A sworn protector may only have one ward at a time at 1st level; they may then select a second ward at 8th level and a 3rd ward at 15th level. To select a ward, the sworn protector must take ten minutes discussing tactics and practicing with his ward so that he may learn how best to protect him, and from there on he practices those tactics when he readies his maneuvers. Only after 10 minutes does the temperature in the tunnel continue to rise. At 20 minutes it is at least 90 degrees F and you are glad to not have to do much work. He comes back sweaty as everyone else. He takes a break and drinks lots of water. "Okay I have fire immunity but these hot temperatures are still killer... how is everyone doing. I sure wish Zaidel was here with us, with create water. Okay can't focus on what we don't have just what we do have. I try cooling off with their blood but it is just as warm as in here. Anyone have any kind of snow or ice spell? Endure elements? Okay so in the next chamber are gnolls and pugwampis. Gnolls are hyena faced demihumans and they are vicious. I will focus on killing them. Take pot shots from the tunnel if you must but you must focus with securing a pugwampis, capture and tie it up. Alive if possible. Your secondary objective is if you see a shiny glowing goblin with a large loot bag on its back yell where it is. I will head there and kill it avoiding all other threats. It won't attack but if I don't hit it every round there is a chance it will portal out. Yes it will be best to not engage and let me take all the aggro. Remember pugwampis from the Pathfinder campaign: Legacy of Fire. They are unluck gremlins. They have an aura of 30 or 60 feet and anything not a animal, pugwampis, or gnoll rolls at disadvantage. If you have some kind of luck bonus from a spell or an item it would negate the effect. Something to track down ASAP when we are back to New Faces, a few scrolls, and possibly a few items."


Angelica has: a waterskin.
Mia has a cloth covered canteen and a waterskin.
She also has the orison: Breeze: Create a light wind that blows against target from direction of your choice. So it makes it feel at least 10 degrees cooler. She can continuously use the spell.
Alia does have create water, oh thank goodness! Infinite water!
The rest of you have at least a waterskin and cup. I hope!

With that it is a reasonable sweltering 90 degrees with a humidity of 70%. So it is a sticky heat now like in Florida. But she can still make lots of water, 6 gallons each round if I am correct!!! You all still sweat but are fully hydrated and cool with the given spells.

Yes even though Alia has create water on her list the message still comes to you. I was thinking it would change but they need all the help they can get. Also to convince Cayden to join you will be a diplomacy DC 30. Now Spade is a DC 20. Aurora is a DC 15. Any other folk like patrons or priests of Cayden around would be a DC 20 (No previous relationships).

When Matthew has had another shower of 3 rounds of room temperature water with a breeze he seems ready. I am creating a map for this one!!! Two fights for the group to go...

As you walk and follow Matthew as he charges into the fray you can pick up on distance sounds of battle even as Matthew just left you. Howls and taunts can easily be heard with the mix of weapon on armor sounds.

The group likely double moves to get close to the end of the tunnel to your present locations.

Assuming everyone knows their roles, he picks up his greatsword and rushes into the room. Within a few rounds you hear the sounds of battle and Matthew yelling, ""Its here I found a loot goblin come help me take it down! Jeler and Alia in front, Mia hit it with magic missile each round if possible that should make it not get away! Also it is a force spell so it is not negated by damage reduction. Any spell would be effective, but those magic missiles never miss their target. Oh! Send one at the loot goblin and one to kill a gnoll!"

Bow or not, they enter the room and Jeler quickly gets dazzled by the speed of how the combat goes and all the things he needs to remember at the same time.

Wow we got some really bad rolls! Make them count now we get crits when we hit! Remember the bad luck if you are within 30 feet of a pugwampis.
