That was more of an effect due to you getting a crit. The scientist has an ability that a crit sashes one of their bombs as well.
But an ally did take damage so yes I would think that would set off your retribution.

In a tactical point, Gortek is a good idea. I will argue also Coptidel since he has a 15ft aura of champion's reaction and of courage.

How do scrolls work in PF2E, I have a flaming sphere scroll but it is a 2 action cast, or does that matter if the scroll is read?

Very similar to normal spells. For your example it would be:
◆ Interact to draw the scroll
◆◆ Cast Flaming Sphere
The only stipulations for casting a scroll is it must match in the tradition of your class. (Arcane, divine, occult, or primal).

My understanding from the enlarge spell is that Gortek will have +2 status bonus to damage, + 5 feet in reach and gets Clumsy 1 condition.
Also the size of his dwarven WarAxe was Large before, so its size is now Huge, correct?
Given that he was already Clumsy 1 due to the Giant Instinct from his barbarian dedication, does he become Clumsy 2 or does he stay Clumsy 1?
Either way is fine with me.
In any case, a Large Gortek fighting Large Creatures reminds me of the Clash of the Titans.

They kind of changed the wording up on this from previous editions. So instead of growing one additional size you become large and all of your equipment follows suit.
So if you are small / medium then you become large and if you are a tiny sprite then you also become large.
The Clumsy conditions do not stack so you would just take the higher of the two.
While it may not make your axe huge you still gain the reach and additional +2 damage with no downside since you are already Clumsy 1!

Apologies. That 27 Did hit. For some reason I read that as a 17 at work. These creatures certainly don't have any crazy AC's like that! I added the damage into the tracker on Red.
