@Barad- Sounds good. Figured you would :) but usually let the player decide which one they are going to block.

Gortek circles the wounded hound as he and Coptidel strike it from either side. Gortek's second strike goes wide, and though Coptidel averts his vision from the hounds they are just too many and all around that the pairs wounds deepen.

Avonatha's neck wound rips open further as blood gushes down her chest as she looks near to losing consciousness. Seeing her wounded Coptidel offers a bit of his own retribution as he cuts the head of the pup clean off it's body. The baleful eyes cease glowing almost immediately. You are currently at Dying 2 even with the Retributive Strike damage absorption. Let me know if you wish to use a Hero Point on that Green Ripping Gaze crit fail as it will leave you stand at 13/46 on a failure and 21/46 on a success. Avonatha's staff whips past the hounds head as it misses the creature. Gortek steps around beside it as his axe breaks through it shoulder bone and into a lung. The hound wheezes as it looks like one more good hit will kill it.

Piney's branch swoops overhead. Frogger watches it miss just as his vision begins to blur and turn red with rage. Looking around confused it doesn't seem to be anger but rather blood flowing into his eyes as he loses consciousness.

Coptidel rushes off towards Frogger's aid as he keeps the half-orc alive a little longer at least. Amarië shakily sends a small wave of magical missiles into the wounded hound as she falls to her wounds once more sitting at death's door.

Seeing her fall and failing to protect her once more he skewer the hound in a fit of rage, killing it on the spot. Kneeling down he helps to stabilize her momentarily.

Only one hound remains as it fends off against attackers from all sides.

Frogger passes berries all around as Coptidel seals off Barad's more grievous injuries.

Suddenly a timerift opens wide across the Eternity Arch. The time rift is 40 feet long and 20 feet wide at its center, then narrows at its edges to 5 feet wide. Eight Pathfinders are in danger of falling into the time rift. Six cling to the tiled floor at the edge of the rift, with their bodies dangling into it. One climbed partway up a pillar whose base has disappeared into the rift; they are 15 feet in the air. The final Pathfinder holds onto a rope tied to a grappling hook, which they tossed into the chamber at the last moment to save themself. The grappling hook is gripping the gap in a stone tile and is clearly not well secured.

The map marks the location of the rift. Each creature within 10 feet of the time rift is slowed 1 for as long as they remain in the area, unless they succeed at a DC 20 Fortitude save . All squares adjacent to the time rift are difficult terrain and uneven ground (DC 19 Acrobatics check to Balance.)

You have numerous options to save their fellow Pathfinders. Get creative. Your attempts should require at least 1 Interact action and a skill check to complete. The DC of these skill checks will be DC 20. Examples include anchoring the grappling hook, grabbing hold of a Pathfinder, pulling a Pathfinder back onto solid ground, Leaping to a pillar, Climbing up a pillar, or using a magical skill to bend the Rift and bounce a Pathfinder out with sheer Rift energy.

The grappling hook slips off the tile, dropping that Pathfinder #8 5 feet further into the time rift. The grappling hook snags another tile 5 feet closer to the edge of the time rift. Its hold is precarious, and it’s likely to slip again in moments.

**HOUSE GM ANNOUNCEMENT**

“Done!” Heraxia shouts. “Get out of here before—” Heraxia’s words are cut off as she disappears completely, shuddering back into existence a few moments later with a tear-streaked face. Looking confused, she shakes her head, then eyes the vault door with determination. “Seal me inside the vault, then go!”

As the surviving Pathfinders flee through into the Maze of the Open Road, Venture-Captain Armeline and Eando Kline hurry to the vault door, dragging it shut and sealing Heraxia inside the ovoid chamber.

Pathfinders gather inside the Maze of the Open Road, bloodied but alive. As time passes, nervousness flutters through the crowd. Suddenly, Armeline and Eando tumble into the Maze, panting from exertion. “It’s done,” Eando grunts.

“Wait,” Armeline interjects. “We need to give her time to leave...” After a few minutes, Armeline steps through the portal that led to Akiton. She returns moments later, smiling. “It worked! The Maze of the Open Road is repaired. We did it!”

A cheer goes up among the Pathfinders.

“It’s time to go home.”

---------

The surviving Pathfinders travel through the Maze of the Open Road, back to Woodsedge Lodge. As medics tend the wounded and fresh food circulates among the returning heroes, Venture-Captain Armeline Jirneau takes the podium. “Congratulations, Pathfinders! Each and every one of you has performed exceptionally, showing bravery in the face of danger and teamwork throughout uncertain, desperate, and—let’s face it—downright strange events. You should be proud of yourselves.

“On behalf of myself, Heraxia, and the Pathfinder Society, thank you for your efforts. I can’t tell you what will happen with Heraxia and Felise, but your deeds here today will echo into an unknowably distant future. And as for the present, well, I’m sure everyone back at the Grand Lodge will be eager to hear the tales of what you have accomplished here today.”

That concludes the adventure! Thanks for playing, everyone, and especially all the Table GMs whose hard work made this event possible.
