Corbrae advances and cuts at the crab, her blade slowed by its passage through the water and deflected by the eidolon's heavy carapace. Remember that slashing and bludgeoning weapons only do half damage underwater. Mrs. Book sights on the summoner and prepares to interrupt her casting...which she does, as the summoner's spell sizzles into silence. She retreats into the alcove, just out of the sorceress' sight.
Viridian and Blitz are up!

So anything up to 4th level.

DM Carbide |

The background noise level is high enough to impose penalties on your roll due to distance; you're thus only able to tell that it wasn't a first-level spell or cantrip (DC increases by 1 per ten feet between you and the summoner).

Fair enough.

Despite their injuries, Viridian and Blitz attack the nearest enemy.

Viridian the lizard 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18 for bite: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9

DM Carbide |

Neither Blitz nor Viridian are able to get through the crab's formidable defenses.

Lybram and Alton can act! Lybram, I'll accept the attack from the previous round if you want to cast spiritual weapon.

![]() |

Mrs. Book blasts the crab since the caster is out of sight. If she can she will try to move back a bit afterwards.
force damage on crab: 2d4 + 2 ⇒ (1, 3) + 2 = 6
swim: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (7) - 1 = 6, not unexpectedly she is stuck where she is.
Speaking of which, I'm not sure who she is tied off to or if the rope has been detached from everyone. IT might be we need swim rolls to make sure we are not dragged into the room.

DM Carbide |

Good point re the rope; you started out tied off to Lybram, I thought, but there's a door handle that it would have been reasonable to use instead--so Lybram could advance (as he did) without disturbing the rest of the party. Incidentally, you don't act until after the eidolon, the construct, and (since you delayed to interrupt the undine's spell) the undine.

Noted. Got the format confused with one that showed an 'acted' tag if you took your turn.

DM Carbide |

Alton, not from your current position. You could spend a single move to get behind Mrs. Book and look past her, though your only targets at that point would be the construct and the eidolon.

![]() |

Lybram double moves into the room.
"Madame undine, call off your crab. We'll destroy this construct together and then we'll talk."

DM Carbide |

She sneers. "No."
Lybram, did you want to cast spiritual weapon and attack the construct?

I would love to attack the construct, but I had to double move to get into the room. I will cast it next round.
"If that is how you want it, so be it."

![]() |

Joseph shrugs.
I can't see the map well on my phone and zoom seems to be breaking the map so 2 shots at the nearest target.
Ranged shot #1: 1d20 + 11 - 2 ⇒ (10) + 11 - 2 = 19

DM Carbide |

Corbrae, the water is deep enough that you'll need to swim to reach her--you won't be able to get there with a single move.

DM Carbide |

Starting inspire courage is still a standard action for you, I think.

DM Carbide |

I'll assume that Corbrae starts inspire courage and gets ready to attack.

Viridian does not like the caster slinging spells from a distance but at least Corbrae is harrassing her (or did she not move?).
He motions to Blitz and the two flank the crab.
Blitz bite, flank, bard: 1d20 + 6 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 6 + 2 + 1 = 12 for bite: 1d6 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 4 + 1 = 10 (plus trip) Bleh!
Lizard bite, flank, bard: 1d20 + 6 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 6 + 2 + 1 = 26 for bite: 1d6 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 4 + 1 = 7

DM Carbide |

She wasn't able to move that far and do anything else, so I think she inspired courage and stayed put.

![]() |

Mrs. Book launches another volley of missiles into the crab and undoes any rope bindings till attached to her.
2d4 + 2 ⇒ (2, 3) + 2 = 7 force damage.

DM Carbide |

Blitz finds the crab's shell too tough to get through, but Viridian finds a weak spot while Mrs. Book uses her reliable magic missile spell to damage it further. One more combination like that should drop it.
Round 3:
Lybram and Alton are up![/ooc]
Crab HP taken: 18

DM Carbide |

With the current arrangement, and since the AoE of glitterdust is a 10' radius spread, you can only hit one of the three; also, if you target the crab you'll also catch a minimum of Blitz or Viridian, as well as possibly Corbrae or Mrs. Book. So it's the caster or the construct.

![]() |

Lybram chants a simple prayer, "Mightly Dead-Eye, lend me your bow." He point at the crab owning undine women. "There!" The glowing silver bow appears in the space south of the women. It fires a silver arrow at her. spiritual weapon shot: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10

Round 3 (ongoing):
Alton's spell coats the construct in glowing motes. It appears to be disoriented.
The eidolon swims out of the flank and focuses its attacks on Corbrae, for some reason. Claws and bite all connect for 18 HP.

Corbrae can act!
Save: 1d20 ⇒ 20

DM Carbide |

Corbrae, remember that you're swimming and can't take a 5' step without a Swim speed. You can either Withdraw and not cast the spell, try to cast the spell defensively, or risk an AoO from a creature that's already damaged you severely.

![]() |

No worries...I was not sure if the Undine was planning something after moving...
Blitz tries again to crack the shell of the pesky crab.
