Roark pulls his beak out from the canine's ear, dripping brains and gore. "UGH!" he says, "That wasn't particularly tasty either!" Seeing that the nearest target isn't close by, he simply pulls a throwing knife from his belt.
I think the image our GM is going for is how vultures stick their heads into carcasses and pull them out dripping blood and gore... :)

"Huh...? Ow!"
It takes a sharp nip on the ear from Mister Midnight to finally get Fran moving but move she does, taking a quick step away from the nearby Green. She tries to recall what sort of canines these might be as she attempts to nudge the hands of fate in Khiari's favor.

Bella wastes no time, quickly dowsing the lead wagon's flames with sand. The still small fire goes right out. Khiari tries to ram the large green wolf but her horns fail to connect.
Vardarel does the same as Bella, but choosing to use his blanket instead, the second wagon's small flames die out as well.
Nicole sees both wagons are extinguished so instead redirects her attack to the large green canine, it connects! Please roll damage for your attack, feel free to change the flask since you may have to attack the canine instead of the wagon. Crystal flask missed.
Roark draws a dagger, perhaps not enjoying the fine taste of canine blood.
Fran gets goosed by Mr Midnight, calling on some good luck for Khiari and trying to ID the larger green canine.
Fran Rosemont's Nature (E): 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (18) + 9 = 27
These large canines are called dire cinder wolves. Being large they have 10' reach and their bites deal some fire damage. They're also able to grab or knockdown their foes when that bite connects. They're also more formidable when attacking a target in a pack.
Finally the runty cross-eyed blue canine joins the fight, sort of. It races towards the third wagon, yipping happily as it does so.

Roark smothers the small fire on wagon 2 completely before heading towards the third wagon.
Fran lines up a solid hit on blue, giving it a solid thwack to the ribs.
Vardarel the group's volunteer fire chief smothers some of the flames on wagon three but at this point the fire is far to big to be smothered so easily. Each DC16 success reduces the fire's stage by 1d6. You can keep your stride to wagon 4 or remain and make another check.
Khiari gives the blue wolf a solid headbutt, its legs get a bit wobbly but it remains upright.
Nicole heads for wagon 4 and critically douses much of the flames, but a small amount remains.
The blue wolf's eternal smile is dimmed. It limps off quickly to the south in full retreat mode. While the purple wolf follows behind it, snapping its jaws at the first wagon in contempt! Wagon 1 ignited.
The remaining fires continue to burn and grow!
Wagon 3: 2d6 ⇒ (1, 2) = 3

Extinguishing the flames: Scenario states it takes an interact action to attempt to put out the flames with an appropriate tool for the job: blanket, water, sand, etc and you must be adjacent to the wagon. As such I'll say that if you already have such an item in hand its one action. If not then you'll need a free hand and an action to grab up the appropriate item before attempting the DC16 Reflex. I'd allow a water spell to use the range of the spell to work.

"Yeah, you better run!" Khiari makes a very rude gesture that causes Bella to glare at her. "What? YOU deal with the purple one. I'll help put the fire out!"
Khiari casts >Guidance< on Roark. "Not enough time for me, but I know you'll put out the flames." She smiles.

Khiari gives the bird man some useful tips and tricks to fighting fire while Bella gives purple a solid kick to the backside.
Muckmuck pokes his head out from under wagon 1 and groans at Bella "My wagon! Don't forget to save my wagon." He grumbles and crawls back underneath.

1 person marked this as a favorite. |

Fran and Roark snuff the heck out of the raging fire on wagon three leaving Vardarel to head up to extinguish the small blaze on wagon 4.
The purple wolf races off following blue to the east, leaving the group to put the last smoldering flames out. Soon after the goblin crew comes out of hiding and cheers "We won! And there was cool fire!" A round of applause makes its away around the caravan, at least until Muckmuck crawls out from under his wagon.
"Ok back to work. Check on them spitters and get all that sand outta the wagons. We leave soon!" He heads into wagon 1 to check for damage.
You have time to heal up and do what you wish within reason before Muckmuck continues the trip. 1 Hero point to Vardarel for sacrificing his blanket to the cause.

"So! Annoying!" Khiari snorts. "They were so evasive."
Bella shrugs. "And these bite marks... Can anyone aid our recovery?"

"U-um, here, this might h-help..."
Fran focuses her power and infuses Bella (and Khiari by proxy) with a vitality boost, mending some of their wounds.
______________
Fran spends her other Focus Point to hit Bella with Life Boost, which should heal 16 HPs over time since it's automatically heightened to 2nd level. Depending on how long the caravan stays stopped, Fran will refocus to regain a Focus Point (or two, if we're somehow stopped for 20 minutes).

Roark heads over and checks on Mister Midnight.
(He's got no healing to speak of...)

GM Puckers |

There's no real mention of a time crunch in the adventure so we'll say Fran refocuses a few times and finishes healing Bella n Khiari to full. Nicole will also be full as I didn't apply 4 healing per round, just the 2.
Fran works on patching up the sisters while Vardarel manages to find a well used path leading to an ambush point. Under a pile of rocks you find a cache of regional weapons: a few bolas, a +1 khopesh and a fighting fan. The khopesh is particularly well made with a razor's edge.
---
Finally Muckmuck has had enough waiting around, he hollers at you all "Best get on, we're leaving with or without you!" He's a terrible liar, you know after that fight he's not going anywhere without you. Finally the caravan is back on the march, and before long you see the river, and spanning partially across it a wooden bridge. On this side of the river there's a camp, surrounded by a stockade fence with goblins bustling around.
"Finally, we made it. I'll take you to Zig and then your his problem!" He grunts.
