Chimwemwe |

A lens emerges from Chimwemwe's bracer and cast a star map upon the back of his shield. Making an educated gamble, he twists the lens to center a different constellation and the slaps his hand against a run on his breastplate. A torrent of alpine wind and snow roars out from the front of his shield and over the undead warrior. His tattoos flare with erratic crackles of energy. Most of which is dissipated or recaptured by his armor.
He steps after the blast to provide a distraction for Alrinkiri.

Oh, I should have included that I would like to apply Enfeebled 1 if that first attack is a hit.

GM Doug H |

Akoril sends an arrow into the fighter's eye, another devastating blow.
The undead fighter continues his mission, trying to find the falcon-winged man even though he knows he cannot win. Eventually, he explodes into a pile of dust on the ground.
Nothing remains but valuable-but-nondescript gear. (flame spike (as a flame tongue, but a spear rather than a longsword) It seems Walkena's hunters are designed with a fail-safe cooked in. You have no physical proof these creatures were even here.
The falcon-winged man Aasimar appears a moment later. He looks battered and bruised still, but has a bit of swagger now that he knows he has such powerful friends.
Thank you, Lore Speakers. I'm Izem Mezitani, a traveling archaeologist. I did a residency here many years ago, and ran afoul of Walkena's ridiculous xenophobia while "illegally investigating" some ruins in Mzali. He speaks rather sarcastically about the legality of Mzali's rules, emphasizing the scare quotes with his wings. Luckily, you showed up… on… on… on…
You have heard of this scholar. He visited the university before your time. You've also heard he has arrest warrants in five nations…
Izem blanches as the Ixamè snakes her head over the trees to check on tour progress.
An adult cloud dragon…
Ixamè grins. Are you ready to go? I can carry this little celestial too, his wings are neither beautiful as mine, nor as strong.
Her three dragon children (Azze, Zoilia, and Mgendo) gambol out and prance around in the ashes of the battle.
______
You soar above the city of Naantmbu on Ixamè's cloudy wings. Far below stand the statues of the magic warriors, guarding the city walls. Colorful barges and pleasure ships in the maze of blue canals bump into one another as crews gaze up at the cloud dragon flying in from above.
You wheel above the University: Spire Dorm, the Archorn Library, The Circle (where Teacher Ot examined your skills so very long ago), and other buildings… and you realize how much you missed this place.
Haibram shouts for joy when he sees students and teachers gathering on the common green below. He rockets off some fireworks and leaps off the dragon's back as they boom and glitter in the sky, deploying his latest folding glider wing to perform elegant maneuvers while the dragon babies flutter around him. Chizire snores in a hammock he built.
Below, Zuma's foil hat glitters in the sunlight and two spiderlings prance excitedly around shooting webs to and fro while their mother chases them. Esi stares up, hoping to see Chim.
Soon enough, you are standing on solid ground. Ixamè perches behind you as you approach an entourage of teachers: Janatimo, Ot, Ahassanu, Makika.
Janatimo chuckles. Well, I will say this wasn't the entrance we expected… but what a grand one! Beware young lore-speakers, you are becoming legends here at the University already! He bows to Ixamè. I see you have woken from your long sleep, great dragon Ixamè. I am grateful you helped these students. Be welcome at the Magaambya for as long as you and yours wish.
An impromptu party begins on the green, old friends are brought together and new friends are made. Lumusi brings out some food and drink from the cafeteria.
Not all is well. Janatimo frowns, counting your group. He takes note of the aasimar as well. He gathers you in a quiet spot below a shady tree.
Lore Speakers. Tell me. You have brought us Izem the scholar. But you have failed to return with you. Tell me about your trip.

Alrinkiri |

"It's not as bad as you might fear, given our numbers. Perhaps I'd best start at the beginning, though.
"Our path was long with several unexpected turns. As wonderful as being given a ride home by a dragon was, it was not even the most surprising occurrence." Kiri recounts the battles with the shadow Magaambyans, the kidnapped students and townsfolk, and the journey into the plane of shadow to retrieve their friends, the owb and the roper, and the spirit that consumed the Lore-Taker's mind.
"I can't speak for everyone, but even with all that, I was most surprised by Soomdevi and Noxolo. Soomdevi found...evidence of something. I...I suppose we'd better tell you all of it. Soomdevi found evidence that linked him with Abjal, the Lore-Taker we fought. Their places were switched, it seems. Abjal, bound for this school, was instead diverted to the Shadow Magaambya. Soomdevi, similarly, was prevented from reaching that place, sent here instead. The work of an exchange, orchestrated at the behest of Soomdevi's father. Soomdevi, when he learned of this, decided that his course led away from the Magaambya for now. He set off to learn more of his father's plans and motivations as they pertain to him. Noxolo decided to go with him.
"As you might expect, a scheme such as this required help from within. I'm afraid the evidence points to Koride as a co-conspirator in the swap in exchange for a relic called the Vessicant Egg."

Akoril |

Akoril nods and goes into some more details regarding the kidnappings. "I fear the young students came to much peril. While we were successful in recovering them, I feel much shame in how much danger they were subject to on our watch."

Chimwemwe |

Chimwemwe raises his mask as he approaches Esi. He raises a hand to press his palm against Esi's as they meet. "I'm surprised your mother and the other Sun Mages did not intercept us, arriving on dragons as we did. Someone must have known we were coming," he says with a smile.
Later, when they confer with Janatimo, he nods and says, "Teacher Koride's involvement with the Shadow Magaambya is disconcerting."
He tries to reassure Akoril, "Danger is intrinsic to life, and all work has risk. As a youth much younger than our students, my father was teaching me how to repair the bridges and lifts of Hyrantam. That is not to say we should not strive to keep them as safe as possible."

GM Doug H |

Janarimo frowns. This is a serious accusation. If true it has cost us a shining student and damaged our reputation. Do you have any evidence she followed through with this agreement? Koride just left on sabbatical, she is bot here to answer this. Let me think on it.
He looks over at the falcon-winged scholar. I may have another task for you in the meantime… for bow, enjoy the moment.

GM Doug H |

He reads the papers. We must find her. She said she is visiting family. I wonder, the last of the papers implies she is agreeing to the deal, and we also have this mysterious egg, safely stored in her offices. Surely it is safe here. This is a troublesome tale indeed. I will put the best Tempest Sun mages on this task!
In the meantime do me two favors. First: tell no one of this betrayal. I would like to hear from Koride herself. Second, show Izem Mezitani around campus. He visited years ago and while he's a bit… troublesome… he has a kind heart, a thirst for knowledge, and you deserve a rest!
Consider this a couple small side scenes — is there anything you'd like to do? Meddle in the Koride investigation, fight some MECHA LESHIES, throw a kegger with your spiderling and dragon friends?

Alrinkiri |

"He wouldn't be the first student we've helped with a....troublesome...past" Kiri says, thinking of their time mentoring Ubanau.
I vote for (a) party with friends, then (b) MECHALESHIES! Kiri would not be eager to ignore Janitamo's request for time to investigate (though I have no objection if that's what other folks want to do).
