GM Jhaeman's SFS # 2-10: "Corporate Interests" (Inactive)

General Notes:

I try to post every day to keep things moving, and if you can keep a similar pace, that would be great. We all have real life interruptions of course, so if you can't post and we're in the middle of something like a combat, please give me bot instructions or I'll assume your PC does Total Defense.

Please place a good array of information in your character header. Knowing your PC's EAC/KAC, Perception mod, Initiative mod, etc., saves me a lot of time when doing posts. If you need help figuring out how to format that, we can help you.

If you want to earn extra GM love, posting a full character sheet in your profile is great. That way I can look stuff up and answer my own "how did they do that?" questions. Related, if you have some crazy weird or complicated build and want to explain anything, here's a good place.

You'll need a picture of your character for the grid scenes.

Finally, role-playing is good! Please give your PC some personality and engage with the other PCs and NPCs. I'll gently move us along if we're dwelling too much in one part of the scenario.

@Everyone: The scenario states:

"No boon slots, except for personal boons, are available for Corporate Interests, but you should explain that PCs acquire boons as they play adventures."

I've never seen a scenario restrict boon slotting like that, but please keep it in mind (I guess even promotional boons, like t-shirt rerolls, are out for this one).

Busy weekend, didn't notice I was picked. Will have an introductory post shortly and stats online within 24 hours.

My posting may be a bit intermittent for the next several days as I'm on a business trip.

Sorry for the lack of posts for the past few days, I got laid out by a sinus infection. I'm mostly doing better, and should be able to do regular posts again.

Kosigan can use its sheath array for starship combat, which gives it:

Athletics +10
Computers +4
Engineering +9
Piloting +9
Gunnery +8

So, it can be pilot, gunner, engineer or chief mate comfortably.

Arvoris would really want to be the pilot of an experimental starship, but he could also be a gunner or magic officer.

Piloting +16
Gunnery +9
Mysticism +10

Lexicor can help pilot or computer or science officer.

Computers +10 (3 ranks)
Engineering +9 (3 ranks)
Physical Science +7,
Piloting +4 (3 ranks),

Lexicor, shouldn't your piloting skill be higher? With 3 ranks and +2 dex it should be +5. If piloting is a class skill, that would add 3 more, for a total of +8.

With 4 ranks in Piloting and a decent Dex, my most relevant starship checks are:
Piloting +13
Gunnery +7

I can start on gunnery ... just line the shots up nicely for me. :)

It's obviously completely up to you folks how you decide who's taking what roles. My only suggestion is to remember it is a role-playing game, and no one in-character knows exactly how many "ranks" anyone has. So another fun way to do it is to role-play out who wants and gets what position based on your personality, background, or just plain overconfidence . . .

Wait? You mean all those year end skill assessment surveys and compliance training required to be completed annually and entered into societies mega personnel development database are not available to all agents in a dossier at the start of each mission? What kind of organization is this?????

Would one of you nice folks list out each PC and the role they're taking? It'll help me remember who's doing what--thanks!

I don't mind either way, but unless we're likely to win in one more round, the break is probably needed.

Sorry that the last few weeks have been hectic. I had a surgery pending that they'd had to push out due to a backlog of people with COVID shutting down the hospital for "elective" procedures ... but someone had to cancel, so I got unexpectedly moved up to surgery tomorrow. It's an outpatient procedure, but I anticipate being tired and groggy for a couple of days from the anesthesia, so might not actually be on until Sunday.

Please continue to bot me ... although feel free to have me fire the gun I'm holding, rather than just doing full defense all the time. ;)

@Ashtif: No worries, get well soon! I'll start having Ashtif fire that Swarm Zapper! (I always play it safe while botting and do Total Defense, as the intro post in this thread says, unless I have instructions otherwise).

Now Kosigan is level 6 (AP/pregen credits) with this as its only game as a character. We'll soon see if I learned enough here to make it useful when things start to get hard.
