The innkeeper scratches his head. "I'm afraid that I can't tell you much about his destination. Some kind of ancient ruin. When I asked him about it, he said something about...confirming it? I'm not sure, it sounded like Pathfinder business, so I let it lie."

Having hungrily and slurpily huffed his own (non-magical) soup, he points towards the cooled bowl sitting in front of Kondai which remains untouched.
At the mention of the stolen pack animal, Axel makes no effort to suppress a loud and throaty guffaw - and it is unclear if his laughter is one of sympathy with Rain in Cloudy Day, or dispassionate laughter at the missing leshy and quite at it's expense. He looks down to make sure his own firearm, which he had set down so as to fold both of his hands into the meal, is still present right where he left it, lest he find himself at the opposite end of the very "joke" which had stirred his belly. (Indeed, his outburst was not borne of sympathy!)
He snaps to answer the question "Gotta confirm to get paid" again over-summarizing through curt explanation.

A creature in the quicksand can attempt an Athletics check to Swim to either raise itself by one step if it’s submerged to its neck or worse, or to move 5 feet if it’s submerged only up to its waist. On a critical failure, the creature is pulled down one step. A creature that Swims out of the quicksand escapes the hazard and is prone in a space adjacent to the quicksand patch. Other creatures can Aid the creature, typically by using a rope or similar aid, or attempt to pull the creature out with their own Athletics check.

"Fool. We should continue following Dyner. THEY know how to track things down in this blasted swamp."
Again, I'm playing up his personality. I'm not trying to be a dick IRL

            "Fool. We'll get there eventually!"
Clapping back without bothering to establish rhyme or reason, it's clear that Axel is merely rising to meet an unstoppable force with his immovable object. There is a tense moment where two strong personalities lock eyes and grind tooth and fang, as our irreverent hero snarls out of his nostrils at his equally hard-headed teammate.
Perhaps someone cuts in to cool the tension, which succeeds immediately, where just as quickly as it boiled up, it simmers down, soon forgotten, and without held grudge.
The same! =)

As you are arguing about which way to turn, a burly red iruxi emerges from the swamp.
"Ah, I heard some commotion, but I see you have dealt with the atttacks. Curious that they would have attacked so large a group! I am Kazuuk. What brings you into the swamp?"
The iruxi is heavily armed, but appears friendly.

Jaxon gives the lizardfolk a once over and nods. "I'm Jaxon. We're looking for a friend of ours that has gone missing. He's a leshy names Rain. Just trying to get these chuckleheads to decide if they know which way he went. Have you or your tribe seen him?"
