Tural explains to the judges that Demed's magic bait was not malicious in nature. The judges accept his explanation. However, they do disqualify most of Demed's catches.

"Thank you for speaking on my behalf. I won't use anything I don't understand in the future. I might have caused lasting harm to my new friends."

Tural aims three magic missiles out into the water designed to hit fish from underneath them and knock them into the air. Given time, he follows the volley up with a second round of three missiles in the same manner. "Aim underneath the fish and utilize the force of the missile to stun them and knock them up. One of the most significant features of such a spell is that it never misses...well, as long as you can see what you're aiming for that is!"

occultism: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25
Hot dice since we started fishing. Might have found Tural's hobby when he isn't reading books.

Giles and Ecthelion converse for a moment. Then Giles steps back and puts his hands out toward Ecthelion and says "Let's see if we can make you a little more streamlined for swimming." Ecthelion's tentacles grow a little longer and a little flatter and gills appear long his neck. This is using 1 focus point for evolution surge giving Ecthelion the ability to breathe underwater and a swim speed of 25ft for 1 minute.

Ecthelion slides off into the water completely silently and begins stalking some fish.

Interestingly enough, there is someone here in the Philippines who uses moss as bait. He posted a video of himself on YouTube catching pretty impressive tilapia with moss (fish are huge -- maybe close to 1-2kg in size. So your Herbalism Lore roll isn't as far-fetched as you think!

Large Fish with Moss

He's speaking Filipino but I think the size of the fish he's bringing in speak for themselves. He caught the fish in Taiwan, but the bait is the strangest I've ever seen... :)

Tural sees where the fish are and sends multiple magic missiles at them, causing them to float to the surface. Gnavy baits his hook with crab meat and catches a fish. Buford tries a bit of seaweed and manages to fool a fish into biting it. Ecthelion silently slips into the water and manages to wrap his tentacles around several fish before they realize that he's there. Conall observes the fishes' location and throws his line into that spot. The tactic works and he catches a fish. Amelia tries using her knowledge of the sea but just misses, as the fish spit the hook while she's reeling in.

All in all, your team does a great job in the tournament. At the end of the day, the judges tally up the scores and decide unanimously that your team has won. They walk up to each member of the group and hand you a small pouch containing 4gp.

"It's very clear that your team has won the tournament! You all earn the title of Silver Sovereigns. We would like you to come back and defend your title next season!"

Deka and Demed are deeply grateful for and impressed by your actions during the event. "We are honored to have been beaten by competitors such as yourselves! You should come back next season and defend your title!"

End of Bounty

Thanks all for playing! I hope you had fun! Please ensure that the information for you chronicles is correct. I will send out chronicles in a day or so just to give everyone time to verify your entries. If you didn't leave an email address, I'll post a link here in the forum.
