I guess no matter where he ends up my action is the same... move and shoot. So I'll take the rest of my turn and you can move me as needed.

Garcon rushes to keep the tiefling from getting away. "Ya dun wanna throw in the towel yet? Ya sure?"

He fires the last couple of darts out of his dart gun hoping to render the fleeing tiefling unconcious.

Attack vs KAC, Double tap: 1d20 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 6 + 1 = 13 Probably cover penalties

As the tiefling escapes, they got stabbed with the syringe. "What the heeee..." she slows down and is chopped and shot before she leaves the room.

With half move, she would not get there, and Blinky and Garcon shoots would be enough.

Combat seems over... unless there are more enemies in the closets ;)

The tiefling falls to the floor ... you may wonder where they were heading.

After a few seconds, there are no, new enemies or traps.

Feel free to rest and heal

When you move back the grenade in the science lab seems to break any leftover materials in that room. The biggest room where you spent most time-fighting looks like it once was divided into smaller cargo holds, a kitchen, a bathroom, and the engineering bay, but the walls here have largely been destroyed, opening up the space. The large energy barrier can be disabled from this side.

There is plenty of things here that you can look through if you wish. Perception check.

Ayoka disables the forcefield and wanders over to hear the last part of that.

Definitely not the original crew she says and if you have another one, I'd love a cup. As for them .... dunno ... doesn't make sense if you ask me

Anyway, speaking of the original crew, as soon as I've had this tea, I'm gonna wander up to the bridge and see if I can pull the data logs, as well as look for crew personal effects to bring back. We can't bring this ship back, it'll just break up as soon as the engines start, assuming they still work. Towing it back is also outta the question.

You all take a breather, smoking cigars and drinking garcon special tea. In search of a better understanding, you begin to look through things.

Blinky begins to search through the belongings of the fallen three aliens. Besides weapons and armor, he does find coordinates of this ship provided by a similar device as you got installed on your ship. Their comm unit communication shows that they saw you approaching the ship, and they were laying a trap. From scraps of communication, you can deduct that their ship was destroyed by debris as they approached, and they were very much interested in your ship.

Garcon heads after tiefling and the space that she wanted to reach. She was heading to Medical Bay

Assorted medical equipment rests in one corner of this room. A stasis pod with a corresponding display sits in the middle of the room, next to a long desk running the remainder of the length of the wall. Two doors exit toward the front, while another door exits toward the aft.

The bay has most of its items used or destroyed. On a long table there is an assortment of compounds and chemicals. The tiefling has combined several of these together to create a rudimentary trap activated by knocking over several of the containers, which triggers an explosive spray of burning chemicals. Garcon safely moves the containers far from each other to avoid a chance for a giant Koala to bump into them.

Searching of the room shows nothing of interest.

Ayoka and Elwin head towards the bridge...

A massive slab of debris has crashed through the hull here. Black computer screens occupy each of the three crew stations, while large viewports light up the bridge with the aurora of the roiling planar chaos. A table surrounded by haphazard chairs stands on the starboard side.

Perception DC24, Bridge:

You find a hidden panel beneath the captain’s chair that can slide back to reveal the hidden relic. The relic seems to be a metallic sphere, about 2 feet in diameter and covered in a layer of grime. It’s extraordinarily resilient, resisting any tinkering. The sphere’s exact use or purpose is unclear at this time.

Joe stays around the main section of the ship and begins to search the crates. She finds: imperial conquest strategy game, a Violin, and a minor muon crystal.

Within the debris you find another datapad with a depleted battery. With a bit of eingineering you may be able to check its content

Ayoka actually uses Token Spell to ensure she doesn't inhale any of the cigar smoke or get any in her fur. Hopefully no one will notice.

As the group wanders around, Joe looks through the crates and finds some interesting items. Over comms, "Did one of the crew play the violin? If so I found it...and it looks like in decent condition....though I am not an expert on it. Also found a game and somebodies shiny crystal....don't think any of us are solarians though."

Once Joe carefully packs the violin back into the case, and puts the other items she found in a nice little pile, she wanders to the bridge.

Looking at the captain chair, she remembers back to one of the horrible Vesk romance novels she read while in the Vesk navy. Apparently the enemy--the evil Hoomans--had cleverly hidden an item in the captains chair. Apparently the Hoomans liked little buttons installed on the bottom of the captains armrest. Joe looks under--and low and behold--finds a small button. Depressing it, she senses a vibration in the chair.

"Umm...guys. I don't know if they really told us EXACTLY what the relic is, but if I had to guess...a cleverly hidden panel in the captains chair would likely be where it might be....though this weird sphere almost the size of Blinky's head might be able to be considered one....SHESH....I think we need Blinky to get it out...it is HEAVY."

Joe tries her best to get it out of the storage space.....but gives up and waits for Blinky.

I don't think so Ayoka replies The outer shell is in pretty bad shape and the engine bells are rather battered. I suspect this hull would fall apart if any stress was put on it.


Starfinders, with ease, find the artifact hoping for it to be the purpose of their mission. After a bit of work you are able to turn on the found datapad.

It belonged to Red, ysoki member of the crew who was a Captain. She made a couple of entries, on one of those you can see her playing violin, and she did it fairly well.

When you looked for the latest recording you found a desperate message.
The shaking camera is showing a bridge of Amber Reconnoiter and a barricaded entry. Jarzie and Kandra are heavily wounded, sitting on the ground trying to patch the most severe of their wounds. You can see the panic in their actions and fear in their eyes. Red shows up in the camera and says in a rapid flow of words

"We have barricaded ourselves in the bridge... but I fear it is a matter of time when we are overrun. We are prepared for whatever is coming. Despite its sad state, the Amber Reconnoiter is still our ship - we will not give in."

The video stops... You take a moment to process that...

You also found a trivial security measure to protect another entry showing a location of a hidden compartment where you already find the artifact. In the video you can see Red holding the artifact saying that she does not know what it is, but it feels important and that they need to bring it back.

Blinky moves to check the unopened areas (carefully checking for traps and defences) "Looks like the trip didn't end well for the original crew, I'm not going to be surprised to find a pile of bodies" he comments grimly.

You open the doors to the first room...

This room has remained surprisingly intact through the years. On one of the beds, you find another datapad. After going through similar activities like before you find a few Berkal's videos. Every time that he speaks to the camera he is signing the same message.

"Fought this unknown ship for a bit before they realized most of our weapons aren't working. They circled around our weakest side and unleashed a full salvo. We're sunk. We tried contacting them but they are pirates, I think I recognize the ship... we fought them before. We might not get out of this alive." Berkal shows signs of exhaustion and crushed spirit.

On the datapad Berkal left a code and location of a hidden panel to open his stash.

In this room, you are able to find a locked chest secured by the code. When you enter the code found in the engineer datapad you are able to open it. Inside are Jarzi's clothes and few engineering tools that were kept pristinely clean and a credstick with 300 credits

"I assume the pirates we fought were the ones who killed this crew. Let's see what is in that last room..."


You enter one of the last of the rooms and, there are no bodies there.

Similar setup of two beds in surprisingly good condition. The locked doors and intact hull of this section could have kept things as they were.

You find another datapad, after attaching your own battery and fixing the screen you are able to see some of the entries done by the Science Officer, strix called Kandra. One of the entries shows her mounting force fields into the ship corridors and gather weapons to prepare to be boarded boarding.

Kandra seems to not have been too much onto leaving video recordings on her device. There are some notes about tests and trials that she did on various materials that they found during their missions, mostly scientific information.

Without finding the bodies, you wonder if the crew survived but was taken captive? Was captain Red able to talk their way out of it? Or maybe they were killed and bodies were disposed of, sent out to the vast space...

With the instructions found on the gunner's datapad, you open the last small stash on the ship. Berkal kept there a small holographic display unit that projects messages and photos from friends and family from the Akiton where they lived for some time. Beside that, you find a 6-th level Dispelling weapon fusion seal.

With the whole ship explored and artifact found you prepare to cross the field back and get onto your ship. As you give Amber Reconoitter another look you wonder if you discovered every mystery that this ship has, or is there more to it...

Joe wanders around, collecting any items that might be considered personal from the crew...the violin definitely, but anything else...a scrap book, pictures, etc. She hopes that she can find from the Starfinders if any of the crew's family (great-great-how many greats nieces or nephews) is still alive...they might have stories about their great-x-uncle/aunt/pibling.....

"Think it is worth setting the engine--what is left of it--to go critical after 10 hours or so? Or maybe we should just make certain the engines and weapons are 100% offline and just let this ghost ship stay? I don't know which would be better for the memory of this ship...."

Was Garcon able to stabilize any of them, or KO the last one with the sedative, or are they all ex-pirates?

Garcon scratches his head with 3 hands. "I wonder if maybe they stole the pirates ship after they were boarded... which might explain why the pirates were stuck here. Definitely shouldn't blow this place up... might need ta come back later for more clues."

@Garcon no, you were unable to stabilize them. The tiefling was killed with your piercing shoot and not sedative :(

The Starfinders discuss what to do with the ship and gather whatever belongings, virtual or physical you can.

The three dead bodies lie still, the only lead that you have on them is that they had coordinates of this place and they brought a similar location device that you got installed in your ship by the church of Triune.

Feel free to decide what you do with the ship.

You spacewalk/fly back to the ship. Soon you find a way to leave that debris field and fly back to the Absalom...

Back at the Lorespire Complex, Naiaj and MP-8 greet you in the Starscape Chamber.

Naiaj asks "Thank you for exploring the starship. What did you find?"

MP-8 says "Can I see the artifact?"

Joe comes into the Starscape Chamber, carrying a huge pack with items the group has collected from the Starfinders personal belonging. "Naiaj, do we have records on who might be next of kin? We really should get these items back to the families...even if we are talking great-great-x family members...."


Naiaj listens to what you are saying, making some notes on her device.

MP-8 looks at the navigation device from Blinky "Those kinds of devices we use on Alluvion... it means that someone from the Church has hired an external party to get the artifact... I need to look into this." says the SRO with what could be a worry in their voice.

Then MP-8 wheels up to the artifact and examines it, feeling around its sides. Its eye dims in concentration for a moment, and then its eye reactivates with an air of disappointment. "Strange. This artifact has been lost for so long, one would think its technologies would be rudimentary at best, but there seems to be some sort of advanced, multilayered encryption protecting whatever is inside. What could it be...?"

MP-8 backs away from the artifact. "This is beyond my
capabilities to handle. I suppose we will have to table the
analysis for the time being."

It turns to Naiaj. "I trust that the church will be able to count on the Society on this matter again in the future? It is a bit disturbing to me that a Society vessel on the brink of death would be so cavalier as to simply vacuum up such an important relic without a thought."

Naiaj bristles but then closes her eyes and sighs. "I find it disturbing that you would disrespect the memory of the crew without a thought, given that without their sacrifice, we wouldn’t even have this relic in the first place." She reopens her eyes and bears a tight-lipped smile.
