Takeda Mon'tar
Takeda, having dropped the key to the fround when hanging from the ceiling, hustles back to the center of the room to retrieve the forgotten key so that he may fit it to the door. Once unlocked, he swings it open. ”And our prize is?
Nuriyah al-Hariq
"Maybe the same key will fit this door. If it doesn't... Phoibe, Jaidu, think one of you can pick that lock?" Nuriyah looks up at the ceiling, just in case there's another weird ceiling chest.

We need to re-plan the marching order, this corridor is only 5' wide according to the map... Also, does this pose a problem for Windaghi?
Tyug'u keeps a wary eye out as he pads quietly down the corridor.

"Ooo, good eyes. Master Jaidu, you care to lead the way to ensure we do not trigger something unpleasant? Phoibe, since it is rather narrow, would you be interested in following? I believe your glaive would give you excellent reach." Takeda then hangs back to take up his position in the rear of the marching order again.

"You know, I have to wonder about people who leave their keys in various inconvenient hiding places rather than just carrying them on their person. It's convenient for us, but really. A proper criminal organization would never be so sloppy." The genasi's words carry a suspicious air of experience. She shakes her head and follows Phoibe, rapier at the ready.

Going on.
This chamber is evidently a blacksmith's workshop. In the center of the room is a circular forge about 3 feet high. Connected to this is a large bellows apparatus. Stacked about the edges of the room are wooden shafts, crude iron bars, short swords, 3 tubs of liquids, a table of tools, a large stack of cordwood, a smaller mound of charcoal, and a large chest. Chained to the bellows are two young men, listless and exhausted looking. The ceiling is open to the sky, but is shrouded by many vines that form a network overhead. It is apparent that this chamber is actually some sort of shaft.
Oh and the key you found could be worth something.
Chui Aolu Dendo of Ubtao
Vines! By Ubtao! Chui can't resist a brief exclamation at the sight of the sky and plants. Perhaps this whole city is not underground, and there can be a use for his entangling plant magic after all.
Then he turns to the listless young men. Can we undo these people's chains, and without hurting them?
His attention is quickly drawn to the perimeter of the room, looking for another way in. There must be an inner way, maybe between those stacks of wood...or are we in for a climb?

Looking at the lack of doors, Tyug'u comments: "Let me guess, the Tasloi can climb like monkeys..." He makes a quick search of the place while replying to Chui's comment "Best not actually, we can't take these striplings with us on the way into the city - that'll get them killed for sure, and they can't get out past the crocodiles on their own. We can free them if we come out this way though." As he continues to search the place, he asks Jaidu "Can you see the chest there open?"

Are we in 6b? Or in those dead end looking tunnels somewhere?
Jaidu looks at the blacksmith's workshop. His eyes roam over everything, including the chest, the captives, and the tasloi sitting in the vines.
Is one of these two the Chief's son?
The Ratfolk then calls up to the tasloi.
You just gonna sit there; or talk?
Nuriyah al-Hariq
"I think we should at least get these captives out of their chains. I'm sure they'll stay put if we explain the danger." She looks at Chui. "I speak passable Chultan in the Tashalaran dialect, but you are undoubtedly more fluent."

They are not the chief's son. But they are from the village. There are some similarities: dark skin, dark curly hair, and brown eyes. However, they lack the son's height.
Takeda Mon'tar
Where is he standing or coiled? Was he blending into the shadows or the walls themselves? Can I tell why we were not able to see him when we came in? Secret door open behind him?
"Whoa!" Takeda says in surprise then he grins. "I bet you know where the prisoners are held. Can you speak?"

Chui does not notice the Yuan-ti, even after Takeda starts speaking to it. Instead, he looks up at the tasloi, then determining that they are not a major threat takes Nuriyah's advice, dismounting from Windaghi but keeping him close at hand.
In Chultan, to the captives, as Jaidu leads them back down the passage, Can you understand me? Nod your heads if you can.

Smiling at the appearance of the yuan-ti, the Gunslinger leans against the entrance; waiting for him/it/them to make a move....
I really hope they brought the chief's son. Be much simpler fer everyone.

They don't nod their heads. They are too drugged.

Hanuhpah reaches up and twists lending with it a whisper in the earth, an appeal. The creatures were loud, large in numner and potentially dangerous. Best to remove them from the equation for now. The vines responded, twisting and gnarling to close the gap and make it impossible for them to slip through without a load of effort.
Cast Warp Wood on the vines to close up the hole for now.
