Night is fine. However, since I don't think a quasit really needs sleep and Mheenah is easily bored, she probably would do something during the day as well. I'll post in the game thread.

![]() |

No, my bad,I forgot to clear that, thanks for pointing it out; I’ll clear it with my next post. Those who passed are immune from that smell for the next 24 hours…

![]() |

Sorry, busy weekend and had company over, not much time for posting. Will post tomorrow morning…

Lorelei_ |

i work the midnight shift, so my responses can be slow. if i do it'll be in the morning around lunch. if ever i need to be botted assume i do whatever is most beneficial to the party

Lorelei_ |

Ill respond as soon as i can. My area has had power outages atm due to storm weather. Im conserving as much power as i can when i can

![]() |

Leaving this morning to get on a cruise ship. I’ll have wifi so I’ll try to post once a day while I’m gone. Get back on Friday.

![]() |

Ooo, level up! I'll have to work on that tomorrow. I think Spirit will be able to throw bigger things around now. :D
No worries, take your time…

Spirit the Ferret |

HP roll: 1d6 ⇒ 2
Looking back at what I rolled for HP and what I have listed for Spirit's HP... I obviously made a mistake somewhere. He should have more HP than what I've had listed.

![]() |

No worries, you can update it to what it should be…also, if you roll low on hp, you can just take the avg (4 here)…
Merry Christmas, y’all! If everyone is ready, we can start back up next week…

![]() |

Right now I’ll continue to bot her so I’ll level her up…not sure if we could find a replacement for her this far into the adventure…but if any of you have any ideas, I’m all ears…
I’m hoping Mr Pitch pipes in soon as well…
ETA: Well speak of the devil…after I posted, saw a pm from the guy playing Mr Pitch and he’s dropping out as well…
There is an NPC (the hermit is a Druid and his weasel is his animal companion) that the scenario says would be willing to accompany you to the swamp…
Let me know how y’all want to play it…

![]() |

Lorelei is kind of our big gun, damage-wise, and Mr Pitch is our healer. So for those reasons alone I hate to lose them. It also makes the story better if the 4 of us keep looking for our 4 masters as a group.
But I agree it's probably a bit late to get a good replacement player into the game unless they want to just shepherd along someone else's character. It's too bad those two couldn't manage to stick it out with us.
Spirit, this is kinda your game. What are your thoughts?

Spirit the Ferret |

Good question. While in principle I wouldn't object to a duo game, Mheenah and Spirit would probably not be a good duo for a duo game. :D
Hmmmmmm... bringing the hermit along with us could maybe work. I don't want to drop the game, but at the same time it feels weird to drop half the party halfway through like this.
Hmmm, hmm hmm hmm... I don't know, would you two be interested in doing a duo game? I know it would be harder to GM for, but I think it could be interesting. I could see either continuing this with the druid helping us out or just starting an entire new game, depending on what you're comfortable with.

![]() |

I can play it however y’all wish…and I can bot Mr Pitch as I’ve been doing with Lorelei…both of you have pretty much carried the game any way, so much of the botting would likely be Mr Pitch healing and Lorelei fighting (our using her scent for tracking)…

![]() |

I'm ok to continue with just us. I'd be happy to take over bot duties on one of the zombie PCs. I sorta liked the conceit of Lorelei considering her 'master' to be her child. More should have been done with that.

![]() |

Sure, that's fine.
GM, with your permission, I'm going to make Lorelei a straight up ranger companion animal. I can't tell from the original character sheet whether this wolf was an animal companion or a ranger or a hunter or Pope Sixtus the Sixth.

![]() |

Are y’all ready to move on? Saw your posts in Gameplay earlier but wanted to make sure Spirit had enough time to level up Mr Pitch…
No worries and no hurry, just wanted to check…

![]() |

Just an FYI, I'm heading out on a cruise tomorrow afternoon and won't be back till the following Sunday. I bought the streaming package so I'll try to post once a day, but I'll be doing it via cell phone which a little more work but should be able to handle it...

![]() |

Sorry, looks like it ate my post from this morning…will redo after my afternoon nap (cruises are great for naps)…spoiler, Mheenah’s attacks take out another trog…

![]() |

That’s a wrap! Thank y’all for sticking with this, especially considering y’all had to RP extra PCs along the way; y’all did a real good job with that. Sorry, as I know the last portion was a dungeon crawl…and I had forgotten how the old D&D scenarios always seemed to have so many dungeon areas as “you see an empty room/chamber” with nothing to do of any relevance…
As for the hermit following you, the scenario pretty much assumes you take him along with you; as it was written for low level PCs and the naga was a formidable foe, comparatively. He was pretty much there to provide protection from her fireball and to be able to dispel the charm effect (one-time only). But Spirit was able to take care of the charm as well as using that luck spell that flipped combat in your favor many times…and Mheenah’s DR and ability to mangle faces came in handy as well…
Hope you found it it at least moderately entertaining and I enjoyed running this for y’all…

This was such a blast! And its so rare to actually finish an adventure in a PbP game that I hardly know what to do with myself now. It was way overpowered for Mheenah to be able to fly, turn invisible at will, and have DR and immunity to all poisons, but I suppose it helped move the plot along. We kinda raced through the dungeon crawl since Spirit and I could scout tunnels so quickly and avoid unnecessary fights.
Lingering questions -- were the people in the cells people who had resisted the naga's charm and therefore had to be sequestered? Did the naga try to charm our masters and failed, or did she have other plans for them? The scuttlebutt from town was that she had wanted to 'interrogate' them. About what?
Did that cleric we killed at the end bring the naga here and start all this? I'm guessing he was one of the fools from that Temple in Orlane?
Am I now higher level than my master? Or did I just give Elly a free level boost? Sitting in a jail cell is a *kind* of experience.
Elly and Mheenah would have no interest in remaining in a stupid farming village, no matter how revered we are here. We'd take our loot and go. Elly is only a kid and probably actually would want some downtime at home with mom and dad eating brownies and reading YA novels. She will soon romanticize her experience and build it into her personal goth drama of the week she spent in a naga slave dungeon undergoing all sorts of fetid and fascinating torture and humiliation. And I suspect a part of her will want to emulate the example of the naga, the dominatrix who controlled all she surveyed with her overpowering will. But she'd want to do it in a more interesting place and live someplace cooler than a muddy cave.
Thanks for running this Otha! And thanks to Almonihah for suggesting it.

Glad you enjoyed it!

Yeah, it kinda was, but I think it counterbalanced the difficulty of a couple of the fights, specifically the naga; that and Spirit’s spells turned the tide as well, along with a couple of poor attack roles from the naga at the start of the fight…

Yes, the folk in the cells resisted her charm spell, as did your masters. The plot specifically mentioned any captured characters would be found in the cells next to those described and I put your masters in that category. The interrogation was part of my adapting the scenario; the naga wanted to find out why they were in Orlane, if the Elves or mayor had summoned them, and if anyone else might be following…
Did that cleric we killed at the end bring the naga here and start all this? I'm guessing he was one of the fools from that Temple in Orlane?
While it didn’t specifically mention too many details, other than being the naga’s chief lieutenant, I pretty much took it that he was over the folk in the temple. He was also in charge of making undead slaves, such as the wight y’all killed and the zombies working in the water room. It didn’t mention this cleric as being charmed as it did the others, so I took it that he was a true fanatic; otherwise, his charm would’ve worn off when y’all killed the naga.
Y’all were actually very close to finding your masters well before the naga showdown. I was wondering how that might’ve played out had the undead’s fear aura not sent most of you fleeing the combat. In the end though, I think that worked out best for y’all; that undead creature might’ve wreaked more havoc than even the naga did…about the only way y’all could really damage it was through Pitch’s positive energy…
Am I now higher level than my master? Or did I just give Elly a free level boost? Sitting in a jail cell is a *kind* of experience.
As GM, I would’ve ruled they got a boost as well…
Elly and Mheenah would have no interest in remaining in a stupid farming village, no matter how revered we are here.
Yeah, I figured that as well…my “or perhaps not” was aimed directly at Mheenah…
I’m happy you had fun with it. Y’all played your characters very well and it was fun for me too; Mheenah’s witty repartee and Spirit always rambunctiously running off with abandon kept me shaking my head and chuckling at the same time…

Spirit the Ferret |

Thanks so much for running this! I was surprised Spirit's spells helped as much as they did. XD Glad you enjoyed running it. I enjoyed playing Spirit, even though he never quite seemed to 'click' for me the way some of my characters do after a while. Not quite sure why that is, since I did enjoy playing him. Maybe I just didn't invest enough into thinking of his master and their relationship... that might have helped.
I imagine Spirit wouldn't be content to stay around either, and would eventually pester his master into moving along even if he didn't want to. :D Maybe we can picture Spirit and Mheenah teaming up for future shenanigans? ;)

Spirit the Ferret |

That or Mheenah needs to meet Silvertail sometime. :D

That or Mheenah needs to meet Silvertail sometime. :D
Cool. Is that a character of yours? And the watercolor was your backer’s reward?

Spirit the Ferret |

Yep, Silvertail is one of my characters! One I've tried in two or three different campaigns, all of which died long before finishing. I *almost* made a version of her for this campaign.
