Flagging Posts

Liberty's Edge

We all know that the most important rule of the messageboards is don’t be a jerk.

If I flag someone’s post for breaking the messageboard rules, shouldn’t one of the reasons for posting be “being a jerk”? ;-)

If someone is being a jerk, is “breaks other guideline” the correct way to flag? What if it is individual post that paints the person as a jerk, but their body of work taken in part or whole? Maybe there should be a “has repeatedly shown themselves to be a jerk” option in the drop down menu.

Of course, this suggestion may well make me a jerk…

I so want to flag you for this question.

Troublemaker.

What I want to know is, when did being a jerk become a crime?

I think we need a legal definition of jerkiness. The Paizo Jerk Bill should passed by the US parliament...

I consider it a self defining characteristic. I've been a jerk more than my share around here.

Scarab Sages

All of a sudden I have this sudden craving.

'Jerk' is a nice, ambiguous term to single out those we do not like. Just tow the line and everything will be fine. Cross it, and we have this nice all inclusive vacation package to one of our lovely 're-education' camps.

Some people feel that smurfing posts = jerkiness.

Yeah, but I like you, therefore you're not a jerk.

The above statement has nothing to do with the fact that I'm a player in one of Kruelaid's games, that I just made a crucial stealth check to hide from a large band of undead cannibals, and that I suspect he can be a vengeful GM...

Shhh! Gorbacz, the new governmental structure plans were not to be released until after the you-know-what.

I'm still arguing for a 'Sebastian' option to be added to the drop down menu. Even just for one day.

It's not a crime. But this isn't a place where inappropriate behavior needs to be a crime to draw a remedy. It's Paizo's board and they get to set the rules of appropriate behavior.

I'm a jerk in reality.... will that get me flagged? ;p

Wasn't that this year's April Fool's feature?

Pffft! One day of foolishness?

I like the way you think.

I steer clear of the 4e boards typically since I don't want to be a troll...sometimes I'll accidentally post there due tot he title of a post and not knowing it's in the 4e community, then I slowly back away...turn and run like a firebat fleeing the 8th plane of hell...

Really? Was it? I didn't flag anyone on April Fool's day. Maybe I should have flagged everyone. That would have been funny and then I could say, "April Fools". Was it really there?
