Jak tries to talk the hound down, but the hound just snarls as it moves forward and attacks the man speaking. The hound first bites at Jak, but the cleric is able to dart backwards, but the second time it's jaws clamp around Jak and tear into his flesh, ripping into his body causing horrendous damage.

"Okays, guess it's mean," Pooka observes as the trollhound takes a big bite out of Jak. "That means it's clobberin' times!"
The goblin attempts to weave some magic into her words as she begins to sing...
~Who let the dogs out?

...but she's unable to infuse her song with as much power as she'd like. Pooka then pulls out one of her vials of acid.

Pooka starts up an inspiring song, that bolsters the emotions of her companions to greater efforts in the fight.
Feeling the song give her extra energy, Webny overstretches as she moves forward and tries to hit the creature. Her second strike though finds the mark damaging the hound as Webny's fist buries itself in the dogs body.
Rangi moves up and claws at the creature, piercing it's hide and drawing blood, before his shield protects him from any other of the creatures attacks.
Iustanus sends a flame at the hound, but the dog ducks out of the way and fire bounces off the wall into a shelf of leather bound books, that start to smoulder.
Shalya jumps over the dog, but as she is slightly off balance on landing, her first strike bounces off the dogs hunch. Recovering the second strike digs deep into the dogs hind leg, it howls in agony.
The bite on Jak seems to burn into his blood, making him bend double as his brow sweats and he feels unable to stop the pain in his stomach.

The smell of burning fills the air behind Rangi as the leather bound books smoulder and char, though you see no flames just a little whiff of black smoke.
As you watch the hound, miraculously you see the deep wounds in the flank and body close up and heal, not all but some...
Surrounded by foes, the hound turns round, facing the one with the deadly sword that had jumped over the hound's head. Shayla is faced by slobbering jaws, still red and dripping with the blood and flesh from Jak's wounds. The terrible maw snaps at Shayla, it's teeth sink deep into Shayla's flesh, almost ripping through her jugular and causing devastating red raw wounds, blood covering the hound and the brave ranger.
With the ranger in it's mouth, the hound quickly throws the woman on the ground, as it mercilessly follows up with another attack.
The jaws snap shut and miss as you roll to the right in your agony, but avoiding the blackness of death taking you.
Shayla is prone
As the disease attacks your body, you are unable to get out of the way of the jaws, that send you into the blackness of unconsciousness and approaching death.

Pooka tries again to imbue her song with power as she continues to sing...

...and this time, she succeeds. Good thing, too, considering the damage being dealt out by the trollhound. The musical goblin considers flinging the vial of acid in her hand but realizes it might hurt Webny and Rangi if she did. Instead, she uses her magic to fling a nearby piece of rubble at the hound!

Pooka continues to sing a song giving inspiration to his companions, before she sends several books flying into the dog, causing it to whelp as they bruise and batter the dog.
Rangi slashes into the side of the hound, deep slices of flesh, red and bleeding gore catch in his claw. The dog screams in agony from the first slashing claw, before the second scrapes into the hounds other side, though the wounds are not so deep.
Iustanus sends flames at the hound, hitting it in its hind, the flames flaring up and scorching the flesh, turning it black and charcoaled, the smell of burnt flesh permeates the air.
With the hound distracted from Rangi's strikes and the flames that engulf it, Webny strikes hard. Her first fist smashes into the creatures body, as Webny hears bones snap under the pressure of the hit, Satisfied her second strike doesn't carry quite as much force, but still bruises the hound as it twists and turns in pain.

Jak gets stronger. but the stone just bounces off the thick skin of the hound, who turns at the man throwing fire around, dragging his barely living body and snarling jaws at Iustanus.
Opening it's bloody jaws it attempts to strike the sorcerer, The teeth sink deep into the dragon-lord's flesh nearly ripping the life from out of him, but still the sorcerer stands. but with it's strength nearly out, it can barely lift its head for another strike, just closing it's jaws in thin air as Iustanus staggers out of the way.

Sighing Jak approaches Iustanus to see to his wounds, "Pity the Trollhound wasn't more friendly..." He ends his sentence trying to prevent himself from throwing up and the smell of the burnt Trollhound not helping.
He goes about to seeing to Iustanus wounds...
Right when he sees to Iustanus wounds, he has to quickly turn away and vomits his previous meal..."Sorry!" as he turns back to seeing to Iustanus' wounds.

"Stupid thing...I's hoped it would be friendly," Pooka sighs as she lightly nudges the trollhound's charred corpse with her foot. She then turns her attention to Jak and Iustanus, concern and worry on her face.
"You's okay? I's got one good spell lefts, can make it a healing spells if I's need to," the goblin offers.

Rangi looks at the fallen hound, he touches the head of the creature with his claw and looks at how they turn back into his hands. Rangi sighs loudly disappointed by the creature, such a lovely animal
He stands and looks around, his eyes stop at Shayla
"Sit lass, the scars will make you look more serious." he pulls out his tools and begins to work on her wounds
Then he looks at the dog and its collar

As Jak quickly tries to mend some of Iustanus' wounds, he overbalances and digs his fingers deep into Iustanus' flesh, Iustanus' eyes close as he falls unconscious at Jak's feet. Jak stands over him, Iustanus' blood dripping from his hands, a look of astonishment on Jak's face.

Rangi spots the blood dripping from lustanus wounds after Jak tried to heal him
"I don't think he looks good" Rangi is able to say when lustanus loses consciousness. But before he is able to react Jak already heals him using his magic
When everyone is healed and stable, Rangi would go back to checking the collar

Rangi picks up the collar, it is old and ancient lether with adamantine studs, but more than that it is history, it is valuable for the working of cyclopean leather.
But that is not the end of the treasures, a red, long crystal hangs from the collar. As Rangi studies the crystal, he sees within the crystal symbols, as though some ancient language is held within the red firey finger. The symbols have similarities with those you found in your previous expedition, could it be cyclopean.

"Eh, I mean sometimes it's hard to knows when to apply pressures and when not to," Pooka remarks, trying to stick up for Jak a little bit. "Especially if you's mainly used to using to magics to patch wounds instead of doings it the old-fashioned ways."
While Jak busies himself studying the hanging fickle finger of fate the hanging fiery crystal-finger-thing and Rangi inspects the trollhound's collar, the goblin looks around for anything else to be looking at or doing. With a shrug, she goes to have a look at some of the not-scorched books on the shelves.

Jak takes his time, carefully translating the runes with the help of Eando Kline's book of cyclopean knowledge and small snippets of language. Eventually he lifts his head and speaks, "Of Our Devotion Rewarded, Our Lord Unsealed."
Meanwhile others find the leather tomes and are able to find what they think might be representative books on alchemical treatises, books about magical research, and books about gardening that might be of interest to the Society.
After another short while, tidying the room and the hound's corpse, there is nothing left of interest in the room, so the group can decide whether to continue on deeper into the complex to the west through the corridor and down the stairs and west into the dark, north and up some stairs. Others may want to return to the east and explore the other corridor.
