I know! Crazy lucky and way out of form for me and the dice roller. To be honest I almost marked a couple of stress just because it didn't feel right to not take any. But then I thought better just in case we do need to fight off/escape that ghost field leviathan. :)

I'm okay calling it good or continuing, but I'll leave it up to Fin and Casia since they're the ones still dealing directly with the ghost leviathan at the moment.

I think we're good to bug out, actually. I don't suppose Jonah can simply end the ritual that holds us in the ghost field, allowing us to re-materialise back at our HQ?

Taht's a good question and I'm going to let Jonah answer it becasue it's his ritual. At the very least I think it would need an Action roll, probly Attune.

Sure, Jonah can end the ritual at any time. However, how rough the transition is and where it drops us is anyone's guess unless he spends extra time really focusing and concentrating. Given the ongoing threat of the Leviathan and his already shaky state of mind, that's pretty much impossible, so he'll opp for just getting the heck out.

Letting the Dice Decide - Attune: 2d6 ⇒ (4, 1) = 5 Given my last set of rolls, this really isn't all that bad.

Sorry, I got caught up with other tings inclugind a different game! This is live.

Jonah got a particla success so he manages to draw you all out of the gost field but the damage he does tears the leviathan from its moorings and it comes after you! It cant' follow you back inot reality but in the few seconds in between it grabs you all with its tentacles and tries to wring you like a dischloth. Everyone takes level 3 harm, you can use prowess to drop it down to level 2 harm.

BTW, if anyone is feeling nostalgic about ye olden times of c.2007 then I am planning to run the Crown of the Kobold King (starting with Hollow's Last Hope) as my final attempt to get into PF2. It comes out as a pdf on Wednesday so I will need a couple days to get into it but I'd hope to get up and running next weekend.

Is anyone interested? I'd rather game with people I know than set up a recruitment.

I was seriously intrigued when Doug first posted the recruitment thread, and I love PbtA games, but with my first foray back into GMing now up and running I don't want to over-commit; that was my failing last time.


You've finisehd this score! Well done on surviving. Feel free to RP the meeting with Quellyn if you liek, but otherwise he gives you the reward - whatever it was, 5 Coin I think, i'd need to go back and look - and you give him the ghost bottle.

Then we're into downtime. You get 2 actions for free and can have more by paying 1 Coin for each extra. Thanks to Scurlok, anyone who takes healing action this downtimme counts as having a Tier 3 doctor looking aftter tham. You're welcome :)

Cool. Looking at XP. I think Jonah would get 2XP for addressing a challenge with arcane power or knowledge. And 2XP for expressing beliefs, heritage, and background. 1XP for dealing with vice or trauma. (The whole mission was about protecting his sister.) It seemed like we had a bunch of Desperate rolls but not sure exactly how many. I marked 1 in Insight and 1 for Resolve, feel free to change if that doesn't seem right.

For the Crew XP:

2XP for contend with challenges above your station.
2XP for express goals, drive, essential nature of the crew.
1XP(?) for successful theft operation. Not sure about this one, but it does seem like we 'stole' the ghost from the Skov gang.
I'm not certain about bolstering our rep, since this all happened in the ghost field. Unless it is a new rep among those who are much more familiar with the ghost field and its denizens. (Lord Scarlock and whoever else who might have noticed 'stuff' happening.)

Downtime Activities:

1. Heal. Heal that Level 2 Harm: 3d6 ⇒ (3, 5, 2) = 10 Is 3d6 correct for a tier 3 healer? Looks like I'll still have those busted ribs unless we do the 'spend more time' healing.

2. Long Term Project (Keep Naty from Going Ferel). Tinker to Experiment based on earlier research and study: 1d6 ⇒ 1 Bummer, but it does fill in the 6-clock. GM, let me know what comes next, another clock or something else.

Oh, no problems. I'm sorry for the slow posting rate of this game, too! I'm goinng to keep it going but it's *not* going to be 1 post a day from me on this at least until after Xmas.

In terms of Desprate action rolls, there werne't that many, oddly. You started the engagement roll with a controlled position and it was a big help in stoping things from getting too out of control. Let's say yuou all made 2 desperate rolls which gets you 2 XP.

OK, so that makes 7 XP total. I kept over 3 XP from last time to go towards a special ability, so I will gain one (to be decided on) and put the remaining 2 XP into that as well.

My remaining downtime action will be to indulge in luxury and restore my stress level to zero; and I will pay 1 Coin to gain another action which will be looking at tracking down Desmona. I'd already made some progress on that with that flashback, so I will probably follow up there to see how it is going.


Good evening / morning. I'm Doug M., aka DMDM, and Sarah has generously offered me a seat at the player's table, since we're in downtime right now.

If there's no objection, I'm thinking to play a Spider.


A bit more detail: I see the team has two locals and a Skovlander. So, perhaps an Iruvian, for variety? And your backgrounds are Trade, Academic, and Military. I'm thinking either Academic or Noble.

Dots: a Whisper starts with 1 Study and 2 Consort. Looking around, I see that nobody has put a single dot in Hunt, so why don't I do that. I want a dot in Attune, because I think this character has some minor skill in the psychic arts.

That leaves two dots. I'm thinking of this guy as more of a face, but I probably ought to have at least one dot in Prowess for those occasional resistance rolls... What do you think the party needs right now?


As for special abilities... because the Spider is really a support character, it seems reasonable to ask the party what they'd like to have backing them up. Not everyone may be interested, so let's put this under a spoiler tag. But if you /are/ interested, I most definitely welcome your suggestions.

What Spider SA would be most useful for the party?:

This is actually very nice, especially if another PC joins in. It means we can fine-tune our Stress reduction; overindulgence is much less likely; and we probably save a coin or two as well. Furthermore, "Allies that join you don’t need to have the same vice as you, just one that could be indulged alongside yours somehow." That means that at least one other PC will always get the benefit of this -- maybe two if we get creative.

Take one for the team! Like Foresight, it's a very solid ability. It's a bit more defensive, while Foresight is a bit more offensive. Mind, if someone is facing high-level Harm and is out of armor and Stress, it can be a literal lifesaver. Is that something that happens a lot?

So, thoughts. My character is the only one with any "face" skills and I only have 1 dot in Command and Consort; we don't have anyone with Sway which might come in handy from time to time.

In terms of special abilities, Functioning Vice isn't going to be that useful: Sarah house-ruled that if we spend a downtime action on indulging vice, it goes back to zero and that otherwise it drops down to 2. I think her rationale was that we're playing these PCs all the way through the story, rather than mix/matching which is how we did it at the tabletop, so you can't have someone drop out via overindulgence.

Likewise we haven't played out the jail mini-game either, but that's possibly just because our numbers dropped too low to make it viable to have someone in prison.

Mastermind & Foresight are both really solid abilities, and what I like about Foresight is that you have to explain how you prepared, which allows for some interaction/flashbacks between your character and the person you're assisting. I think in the PbP format that could make for some great stories.

Not that I recall; Sarah mooted changing the rules on healing but ultimately nixed it and we stuck with RAW.


The healing rules are a bit on the harsh side, it's true. It does make Desperate actions feel more desperate, though...
