Arkhan smirks at the fallen Hobgoblin. He considers just finishing her; but information about what the f#+! is going on in this s&&*horse town is a bit more pertinent! Perhaps less satisfying, but hey, a 1/2 Orc can't have everything.
This was supposed to be quiet and--more importantly--outside of The Bleeding Storms interest!
The Druid decides to cast Guidance on Eilyne.
Perhaps, one of those sweet stick trick thing!
He then takes a bit of a walk about the melee.

Eilyne |

Sorry bout that, it was a rough several days of work and I just spaced out over the weekend to recover.
Eilyne moved further into the room and found the last standing enemy. She didn't hesitate to send a large thorn lancing out at the hobgoblin.

Arkhan glances at Eilyne and mentions for her to send another of her seedlings at the last soldier and she does so, piercing his throat.

Seeing Eilyne put another huge splinter of wood into the neck of the last hobgoblin, Brunner nods with respect. "Weel dain Ladu ay th' wuid."
Moving back beside the apparent leader, Brunner looks at her wounds, not convinced, he lifts his axe. "Nae need tae tak' onie chances." and brings the axe down on her neck.
Dropping the axe's handle into the loop on his belt and slinging the shield over his shoulder, he begins to strip the corpse of any gear worth taking. Telling the othes "Coorie up laddies let's tak' whit we can use an' gie these fowk it ay haur."

He cast Guidance.
Perception: 1d20 + 8 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 8 + 1 = 23

GMMichael |

Brunner cuts off the leaders head, and then moves to go over her body and notices the large bag behind the altar.
He pulls out two vials of a milky white liquid, labeled 'Cure Light Wounds, 2 heavy jars of what appear to be volatile chemicals (alchemists fire), She had a very nice looking composite long bow, that looks to need a strong arm to pull (Min str 14 to pull), a full quiver of 20 arrows, A very nicely balanced steel Battleaxe, still stuck in the altar, a handaxe, and enough food for 1 for 3 days. (3RP's), The Sack contains an elm wand

Tarrow Harfoot |

"Thank you, my friends," Tarrow says to Lunk and Rand. "But now there are others like this flock who require your protection. Go now, and find them at the edge of town to the west. Do not tarry; we will be along soon. And do not yet attempt the Bridge escape - it is heavily guarded."
The halfling wipes black blood off his blade against the hide of the fallen hobgoblin, then joins Brunner to examine the spoils.
"Alchemist's fire! I've been working on a batch of this myself. A pair of jars such as these must be handled with care, but will surely come in handy before the night is through. Good find!"

Barhador |

As things start to settle, the hunter opens his mouth. "That one's no . . .." Brunner changes the situation while the elf was talking. "Well, that is simpler, but it feels wrong, you know?"
As the halfling starts giving instructions to the citizens, Barhador looks confused for a moment. "After we," and he indicates everyone, including the new refugees, "grab whatever might be useful, we'll all head back to the others and move on to check the next location. The goal is to save as many as we can, and all the supplies we can, at the same time."

Ethan Sower |

Ethan picks up the ivory symbol, looks it over for signs of damage, then places it in his pouch. "I do not know who Lirosa is, but if they still live, I will return this to them. If not, this symbol will embolden our flock to survive this atrocity."

Tarrow Harfoot |

Tarrow nods reassuringly to Lunk, Rand, Rhyna and the rest of the townsfolk. "As Barhador says." The elf's caution is not unwise, for though the way was cleared once, it may not remain so.

Brunner Hammerfell |
Smiling as Tarrow gets excited over the alchemists, fire Brunner Nods approvingly as Ethan puts the holy symbol in his pouch to return to it's proper owner. Watching as the towns folk begin picking up stuff and heading out of the shrine, he points to the other two solders. "Barhadur reit. Let's be grabbin' their gear an aw." Moving quickly over to the dead soldiers, he begins helping strip them of any valuable gear, handing it to any empty hands still in the shrine.
Just to make sure we don't miss anything before we go :)

Eilyne |

Eilyne was pleased to see the last of the hobgoblins go down and began looking to see if there were more of them in sight. It seemed, fortunately, that they had dealt with the ones who were here at the moment. She heard Brunner compliment her and, as she used to see her mother do, gave a polite, graceful, nod of acknowledgement.
Eilyne let the others grab the gear and watched to make sure the survivors made it back to where they left the majority of the refugees alright. When she heard the question of doing a deeper search Eilyne shook her head and said, "I don't think we can spare the time to search to much. We need to move if we want to save as many as we can."

Brunner Hammerfell |
Nodding in agreement with Ethan and Eilyne, Brunner pulls the chain shirt off of the last hobgoblin, "Yer reit we need tae coorie. but nae reason tae lae weapons we can use." Tucking the shirt in his pack. "We'll pass it th' gear ance we gie tae a safe place.
Pointing at the altar, he asks Ethan, "Ethan laddie, woods they hid anythin' inside th' alter 'at woods help us?"
Turning to the door, drawing his axe, he hustles back to where they had left the town folks. Calling to the longer legged elf as he goes to the back of the group. "Barhadur, Ah will cowre uir retreat, gie these toon folks movin'."

Ethan Sower |

"Our altars are usually just tables, and aren't built to be hollow, but it seems like she went through a lot of effort to break this one. I will take a quick look, just to be certain nothing is asmiss," Ethan replies.
He looks down at the remains of the sacred table, trying to see if the hobgoblin sought something inside the table, or was merely bent on desecration.
Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21

GMMichael |

Ethan looks at the Altar carefully and finds a hidden switch, opening it up a drawer opened. Within is an amulet of a Stag of Garnet on a leather thong, and an Ash wand with an ivory tip..

Ethan Sower |

Ethan holds up the amulet and wand for the rest to see, then stows them in his pouch until a safer, more appropriate time to analyze them.
"We should get moving," he suggests to the others.

GMMichael |

the group exits the temple and heads back towards the safety of the darkness around the village. Reaching the safety, a few seconds passed while the new refugees were assimilated and then the group began to circle Phaendar, heading for the area behind The Trading Post. A slight pause as they crossed the road going into town, then they were where they could breath again. Soon they were behind Brunners makeshift home. All that needed to be decided is how they approached it.

Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22

Chuckling at Tarrow's comment about opening doors. Brunner points beyond the corral. "Th' other side ay th' corral thaur will be dooble doors leadin' intae th' forge. jist beyond 'at is th' duir tae th' tradin' post."
He moves behind the halfling ready to escort him to the front of the building, pointing to the corner with his axe. Whispering, "Wa dornt ye peek aroond th' corner, yoo'll see whit aam talkin' abit.

GMMichael |

Barholder follows Tarrow and Brunner to the corner, sneaks a peek around it, seeing three wounded Hobgoblins around the corner, with an open set of double doors. The Hobgoblins are all staring at the doors....nearby the dead body of a man all of them had seen come to Phaendar in the last few days, from Andoran.

Barhador |

As he leans back around the corner, he holds up 3 fingers, points at his eyes, then in their direction. Then he holds both hands up in front of him, palms towards his face, before swinging them out towards the others. Then he takes his right hand, points at his eyes, and then at his left hand.
Hey, ya gotta try something!

Eilyne |

As they got around to the area of the trading post and Brunner's home Eilyne carefully approached with her companions. She didn't feel comfortable being left behind and it made more sense to stay close to the others. She just did her best to stay out of sight.
Eilyne saw how Barhador gestured as he looked around the corner and had no idea what that meant. When she saw Ethan move up and ready his bow Eilyne figured that there must be enemies around the corner they had to deal with. She knew that they needed to get closer to deal with whatever was out there and that they were unlikely to see one woman as a threat. Eilyne moved closer to Barhador then gestured at the group and pointed at the ground before raising her hands in an imitation of the way they attacked with their weapons.
Eilyne then boldly stepped around the corner and looked at the hobgoblins standing over the body. Maybe I didn't think this through all the way, she though but it was too late now. "Oh my aren't you strong looking. I could use someone like. Why don't you come and play with me," she said just loud enough for the enemies to hear her. She then promptly walked back around the corner and behind her companions with as much of a seductive strut as she could manage.

As Eilyne stepped back from taunting the Hobgoblins they heard the Hobgoblins speaking in their own language.

Brunner Hammerfell |
Hearing the goblins plan, Brunner blurts out. "They ur gonnae burn th' forge." Unable to accept the idea of his place of prayer being put to the torch, Brunner rushes forward lifting his axe. Looking for the hobgoblin holding the firestick. "Ack ye gobo's dornt."

Arkhan was the first to react, moving up to the fence rail and pointing at the Archer, drawing his bow. A storm broke out in the square he was in. The Hobgoblin was shaking his head as he was pelted with heavy raindrops, making it difficult to see.
Tarrow moved down the fence row, pointing at the Hobgoblin who had come to the corner.
Barhador ran down the fence line with Tarrow, his features growing more bull-like . He snorted once as he ran and slashed out with the curved dagger. Its sharp edge slicing across the face of the Hobgoblin, barely missing the neck.
Brunner had stood there, preparing to swing when Barhador ran up beside him and Tarrow came up behind him. He swung his axe, but missed.
Ethan stepped next to fence and fired his bow at the Rain covered Hobgoblin and his arrow stuck in the fence post in front of the soldier.
Eilyne also missed her mark as the lance of wood strick the corral post in front of the Ironfang soldier.

Eilyne |

Eilyne moved to the side so she was a bit closer to her target and let fly with another splinter of wood at the nearest attacker.

Wow, I am demolishing that fence!

Ethan Sower |

Ethan hustles around the fence to try and get close enough to the flames to put them out. (Out of range for create water, so Double move.)

Arkhan Silvinesti |

On phone. Arkhan wants to get within 25' of fire for Create Water. I know, I know he shouldn't care; but hey; let's just go with it...lol. His Speed 40' from Longstrider.
