I setup Vane as a buffer. If I were to run him as a quasi-pc, he would be manufacturing extracts for use by the primary PCs and throwing bombs during combat, first using the mutagen to gain Dex bonus.

Can anyone gain the benefit from Enlarge Person? Barhador, maybe? Tarrow would use the True Strikes for Trip attempts.

Related, GM: I allocated ability scores based on what I think were your original allocations according to Vane's stat block. Do we have freedom to re-allocate? I'd give him the pip to Int to get one more bonus extract and bomb.

We had a spreadsheet with all of our loot somewhere. I think there were some unclaimed weapons and armor on it.

I hadnt given much thought to that.

Ill put it to a vote.

who wants to run them/control them?

who wants to just do the stat block nd leave them as npc's in total.

Tallow- You can reallocate points.

It's in Brunner's header, but once we passed out the items I cleared them off.

I think I'd rather just stat them and let you do the work leave them as npc's.

Lirosa was wearing standard leather.

Come to think of it, I'm wearing standard leather. I gave her better armor than I'm wearing. <shrug> Oh, well.

I was going to spend time sorting through the loot lists and our upgraded people once we're done upgrading them all. Took the rest of the week off from work, so, other than time baking, I have much more time than usual for that sort of task.

So Wilbur will take the leather, I'll adjust the numbers:

Wilbur AC:14(FF:12/T:12)CMD:15 Saves-FO: 4 RE:+ 4 WL: +1 HP:13/13
1st lvl brawler M Human (Taldan)

He can use the two javelins, but wouldn't be the best with them. If we don't pass out the +2 str bows, Brunner could take one and give Wilbur the heavy crossbow,

M ARG Elf variant Hunter (Feral) 2 HP 7/17 | AC15 T13 F12 CMD16 | F+4 R+6 W+2 | Init+3 | Per+9 Low-Light | SM+2

Brunner is the only PC with the strength for one of those bows not already carrying a strength bow.

Lirosa is the only NPC that I know has the strength for one of those bows, though her brother might also.

Without going back and checking, I think we just gained 5 Str longbows and 1 Str shortbow.

That covers 2 or 3 of them . . ..

I swear, figuring out how Eilyne would train anyone is turning into a challenge. I have no clue what to do with Gidget, or any other NPC really, given Eilyne just innately does what she does.

"Let go of you insecurities. Let the force flow through you, guide you."

You could pick someone to mentor through awakening their own innate abilities.

You could let go of the descriptive text altogether, and accept the simple task of picking one NPC to provide mechanical improvements for, potentially on a recurring basis.

Intuitive classes include: Barbarian, Oracle, Rogue, Sorcerer.
Self-Taught classes include: Bard, Cavalier, Fighter, Gunslinger, Paladin, Ranger, Summoner, Witch

Interestingly enough, that full list includes nothing from the last few books.

id expand it to be.

Yeah, Eilyne would want a really good reason and seeing another who had powers similar to her's would actually make her take interest enough to teach them. I now have an idea in mind.

Oh, what is the "elite array" you mentioned? Is that the heroic arrays?

I'll leave Vane as is. I'm already starting to feel uneasy about treating him like a potion dispenser. My vote is to leave them as true NPCs.

Google's where I got the 15, 14, 12, 11, 10, 8. Edit: Maybe it is for a different system? Lot out there these days.

Nethys is the official Paizo online source, so, let's see what his internal search says:

"Ability Scores: The creature’s ability scores are listed here. Unless otherwise indicated, a creature’s ability scores represent the baseline of its racial modifiers applied to scores of 10 or 11. Creatures with NPC class levels have stats in the standard array (13, 12, 11, 10, 9, 8), while creatures with character class levels have the elite array (15, 14, 13, 12, 10, 8); in both cases, the creature’s ability score modifiers are listed at the end of its description."

No comment about adding racial modifiers to the Standard or Elite arrays, just that is is already included in the no-class blocks given in the material.

Guess I need to revisit Lirosa's numbers, then.

female human phytokineticist (overwhelming soul) 2 | HP 16/17 | neg lvl 0 | AC 13; F 11; T 12 | F +5; R +5; W +0 | CMB +1; CMD 13 | Init +2 | Per +5 | dagger +! (1d4 19-20/x2) | wood blast +3 (1d6+1+4) | pbs/prec s

Except adding those modifiers is a necessary step in the process of making a character most of the time. I never deal with NPC arrays or I build them like I would a PC for a variety of reasons.

Too late to fix saying bovine when I meant ursine. Oh, well.

Did 4 visits yesterday in The Red Suit. Gave out 21 candy canes and was rewarded with 2 Christmas cards, 1 Christmas wish list (includes cookies for breakfast), and enough donations to cover my expected candy cane needs for the year, and probably my post-season cleaning bill.

I go to people for the visits, and accept only donations for the upkeep of The Red Suit, I refuse to charge.

I work in a medical facility, and will be going through it on the 17th. I full well expect to hand out over 1,000 candy canes that day. Why the 17th? Because that's the last day before they cut back appointments and staff for a holiday break. I'm also doing that one because _I_ want to, so I'm expecting no donations out of it. Not like I'm going to need more than I'm getting already, anyway.

Ill fix it when I post summary.

kudos to you for doing this. Im sure it brings smiles to everyones faces. :D

1 person marked this as a favorite.

while I had several games going on the boards....then I had the year of hell. This is no joke of exaggeration.

I got Covid in Dec of 21 took offline for about a month. Ended up in the hospital. then gradually recovered. ...My mother passed away in March. My Father passed away in June and lost my job because (not in that order). I had a car accident in August, totalling my car and going down to a one car family...also landing me in the hospital....again.

finally I got sick again in December of 22. and out of work for 3 weeks.

It seems that everytime Id start to recover from the body blows of the year...another would hit.

So I apologize for my inability to keep things posted or let others know what was going on. Lets just say my mind wasnt on the game.

So Apologies, Not sure if I will be dming or playing anytime soon, more just checking in
