The Pathfinder Society went through many changes in the last few years. You joined the Society since then and finished your training only recently. You’re officially Pathfinders, and you’ve been waiting for the invite to the celebration.

When there are enough new Pathfinders, the Grand Lodge invites its members and leaders to converse, talk, and eat to your heart’s content.

A messenger arrives who gives you a letter. The wax seal on the back bears the glyph of the open road. This is it!

"Greetings to my fellow comrades at arms!

A toast to new beginnings
For Nethys and I are one"

The red-headed elf conveys energy and conviction in his short greeting.

A goblin in a maroon jacket with a matching top hat and bowtie and grey pinstripe trousers presents himself to the table. He is clean shaven with long, well-manicured sideburns. The drinks you've ordered are on a sterling silver tray.

Greetings m'lords and ladies, he says in an upper class Taldane accent. I have here your drinks. I am Bennington Good Good, called 'Uncle Good Good' by those who would be familiar. I intend to bring a sense of decorum to this party and you may call on me should you have the need of a butler. Tea will be served promptly at fourth bell, dinner at half-six, cigars and cognac at eight.

Rathal samples one of Uncle Goods drinks out of respect for the efforts this goblin has taken to set a precedence of decorum to these proceedings.

"Good sir are you also a pathfinder?"

"My name is Rathal, and I hail from the frozen Northern wastes of Irrisen. I have traveled a very long way to Absalom to complete my training. And now that endeavor is all but concluded."

Yes, I believe I am an honorary member. The Society previously did not feel the need to commission their hired help. But after certain diplomatic incidents too numerous to mention, it was felt that field teams should bring with them reminders of station and propriety. I shall be humbled if I serve in that capacity.

In any event I am very glad to meet you. I'm afraid I know very little of Irrisen. In what sense is it a waste?

A tall man with rugged features, enters and leaves his long wooden staff by the entrance. His features suggest that his blood is not pure human, but is tainted with the bestial orc. The man touches his forehead gently, welcoming the assembled, "I, Drakmak, am humbled to meet such worthy Pathfinders and be able to add my small gifts and talents to aid your work. It is an honour to called to celebrate the completion of our training, thanks to the hours of instruction and study we have all gone through." He wanders over to the foods on the table, taking a fig and date to eat. His hands move gracefully and with no small amount of delicacy. His fingers have many rings on his fingers, though none look worth more than the metal and stone they are made with.

"It is an opportunity to celebrate the Society and not just the skill with my hands to make rings for the market." He jiggles his fingers, showing off the rings that sparkle on his fingers. "In my training, I studied and read the art of magic, which is new to me, but I have command of some magics, that I keep in a tome." He bows to Rathal and Uncle.

He wears no armour under his long dark coat, just a pair of breeches and a white shirt, new and pressed. On a chain around his neck, a homemade pendant with the symbol of Abadar in its centre, resting gently on his chest. His shoes are made of black leather, well made and sturdy. He smiles, "My friends, when our destinies have combined to give us success in our endeavors, I may make a small token of our work together, should you wish to buy a piece of my fine jewelry?"

A golden bird, with black markings sits on his shoulder, pecking at his ear, or was it really whispering the man. "Yes my beauty, go take some bread." Turning to the assembled Pathfinders he says "Rakvern, is my friend."

Chirrit! a black-sclaed kobolds chirps out loudly as he hurredly moves through the tavern towards the others. A rapier shakes and slaps against his leather armor while he walks. Sorry I'm late. Well not late, the mission's not til quite yet, but whichever of you suggested meeting up for drinks a bit earlier had a great idea.

The kobold finally reaches the table, and tries to flag down a server for some red ale. I was honestly beginning to wonder if I was ever going to get 'sworn in' or 'officially graduated' or whatever they're calling it. I've already had to trek out into the field on two different continents, but I think the Society may've just been short-staffed. It's why I'm a bit out of breath: just got back into the City. Still, a pleasure to meet other new agents!

Rathal nods his head and embraces all of this diversity before him.
For from diversity one finds power...Rathal knows this all too well having served as a Mercenary in Molthune for a time before becoming a pathfinder.

Rathal releases his holy symbol after realizing he was squeezing it reverently as he ponders.

"I sincerely hope that my travels shall see me to the beauty and keen awareness that is Kyonin one day. I hear that it is lovely any time of the year. A break from the wintery blasts of Irrisen is a well-enjoyed diversion for me. Although I still hold the mother-land with high regard. Her terrain is indeed underutilized as she offers little in terms of natural resources needed for fruitful civilization. That is why many consider my home a land of wastes."

"Fantastic!" an old man clad in a slightly dented breastplate exclaims, a bright expression on his weathered face as he sees you. "I was afraid I was going to be late. Had a bit of a run-in, you know. Recalcitrant horse. I do hope I have that sorted out now, though."

He runs his hand along his long, white mustaches, making sure they're in order.

"Sir Quinton, of Castle Hill and Little Scurry," he adds, introducing himself, pushing his bastard sword out of his weay. "And more recently august majesty of the Land of the Linnorm Kings, though I don't like to stand on courtesy, so please pay that no mind! Now, which if you has our mission. I stand ready and willing to fulfill it!"

He gazes around the table, trying to determine which of you might be the Venture-Captain. Finally his eyes settle on Master Good Good as the most likely option.

Handout for level 1 Pathfinders:
Pathfinders,

I do hope you’ll join us at the Grand Lodge for the celebration to congratulate the most recent group of initiates- yourselves included! A good time is certain to be had by all, but it’s more than just a party. Gatherings like this are an excellent opportunity to rub elbows with the Society’s leadership and get to know them. That means you’ll always be quick to know about the best opportunities as soon as they arise. I hope you’ll take advantage of the event to put your best foot forward.

I’m looking forward to seeing you there!

You reach the Skyreach Tower’s Invocation Halls, ready for the celebration.

It seems as though the entire Grand Lodge has the air of a celebration. The great gates are flung wide, and the phoenix trees lining the entryway are in full flame. The halls of the main tower of Skyreach, normally somber and reserved, echo with the sound of voices and music. The great ballroom is decked for a celebration, with colorful banners and bunting along the walls, tables replete with food and drink, and a jovial cacophony of conversation rising from Pathfinders of all ancestries, nations, and backgrounds. After a quick scan of the room, it’s obvious that many of the attendees have gathered in small groups here and there. A half-orc woman in an iconic ship captain’s hat stands near the punch bowl, handing cups to anyone who passes within reach, and a dark-skinned half-elf leads a small group of new agents around the room, introducing them to other attendees. Several senior agents stand in quiet conferral with a dark-haired Taldan man with a distinctive chin strap beard, while a scholarly dwarf tells a rousing tale to a growing audience.

A familiar blond halfling woman bounces over, bubbling with excitement. Janira Gavix, Head Initiate of the Pathfinder Society, grins, “Oh, I’m so glad you made it! After all, the celebration is for you. Have you gotten drinks? Snacks? Be sure to spend some time getting to know everyone—it’s best to be on good terms with the movers and shakers in the Society, that’s how you learn about the latest opportunities. I’ll be here if you need me to help you with anyone’s names or to make an introduction. Just let me know how I can help!” Janira gestures everyone forward into the room, beaming all the while.

That is...certainly a way of phrasing that. Chirrit says, taken a bit aback by the gallows humor coming from such an animated and smiling face. But it would be our honor Ms Barun.

"Master Drakmak, I am humbled by your deftness. Lady Barun you are too kind."

When the group moves to Eando Kline, Uncle will follow Eddie and Rathun's lead.

"His family name is Maelerant, his nickname is Jiggo." Fola giggles again. "My apologies, his daughter is quite the comedian, and she convinced me to help. You'll recognize him by his rather expansive hair." She gives a detailed description of the man before bidding Chirrit and his allies goodbye.

Fola and Valais's portraits are on slide 8.

"Greetings, I'm Rathal of Envoy's Alliance. I've always wanted to meet someone of great import, and it appears I finally have."

”And I am Eando Kline, leader of the Vigilant Seal faction.” He introduces himself, pointing at the badge on his sleeve.

”Congratulations on your graduation to fully-fledged Pathfinders. Or have you joined us already? Either way, your journey has just begun. Don’t feel like it’s time to slack off. I have missions to assign, and you can prove to me and everyone else here we made the right call to graduate you into Pathfinders.” He puts his hands behind his head and stands upright. His eyes scan all of you, checking your weapons, armor and gear to make sure it's in tip top shape. He stands at the alert, ready for any attack. Any approach. He's just waiting for the enemy to strike out.

A woman nearby clears her throat and he stumbles forward. Her Taldan heritage is clear, thanks to her raven black hair and aquiline nose. She dresses more formally than the rest yet not fancy enough for a noblewoman. "There you are, Eando. I doubt you told them how quickly you excused yourself when I approached and began telling the joke."

She turns to you, briefly. "Gloriana Morilla. One moment please." She snaps right back to Eando. ”...And then I told the empress that the horse rode in on a horse!”

Eando and Gloriana's portraits are on slide 9.

You get the feeling Eando Kline would be more comfortable on the training grounds than a party, and Gloriana is doing him no favors. Maybe you could entertain her with some kind of Performance, Society, or Lore tied to a specific city?

"Ah, you know the empress?" Sir Quinton says to Lady Morilla. "I should like to make her acquaintance. I feel it's only proper, having been a native Taldan before my journeys but now having my own crown. I certainly never expected to find myself in such a situation, but when one is attacked by a linnorm, one must defend himself. And so now I suppose I need to keep up diplomatic discussions and all!"

Chirrit stands in silence for a few seconds as he tries to process the punchline. Oh! Do you mean like a centaur? There are many of those in Absalom. Well, not in the city, but around and about it. Do you have centaurs in Taldor? They've got excellent pack skills - if needed one will sacrifice themselves and run off alone to draw the threat away from the herd.

The kobold keeps chatting to keep the lady's focus, hoping that Eando will get the metaphor - and that Gloriana won't

Morilla turns to you all, very quickly and kindly quieting most of your attempts to interrupt her story. Eando's sweat belies his stone faced glare towards the ceiling. Years of training a few years rotting in a godforsaken prison prepared him for this kind of torture.

Uncle Good Good starts to tell a salacious joke and Lady Morilla raises a curious eyebrow. "Oh? This I have to hear." She stays completely silent, asking about the horses, the waterfall, and especially the rubber chicken. She claps like a young girl, enjoying a sweet biscuit on a summer day.

By the time the joke is finished, Eddie brings Janira to talk about the empress. "Ah, of course. The Empress Eutropia represents a chance for Taldor to rise in a new age of glory and victory for all of us." She and Janira begin trading stories, spurred by Sir Quinton's inquiry. Eventually the two find their own corner to continue the conversation, leaving Eando Kline a chance to survive. He takes a deep breath.

"Ah, thank you... I mean, where was I? Yes, your mission."

The Petals District is available to explore.

He looks at a nearby table. "I need to take a rest."

Not enough successes to get a gift from Eando. Who will you speak to next?

Wasn't Zarta Dralneen supposed to be here? I bear a letter of introduction from my mistress in Cheliax. I was so hoping to meet her.

Perhaps we can speak with Master Benarry? Those pirates cut such a dashing figure.

Is that a pirate? This half-orc wears a tri-corner hat and is currently serving punch to anyone who comes by. You may be the worst pirate I’ve ever met, the Commander said. Joke was on him, I already sabotaged his rudder and my personal crew was hauling the treasure to shore!” She laughs, realizes you’re approaching, and makes some space.

”Hey! You there! Come on, drink up. Courtesy of Calisro Benarry. I head the Horizon Hunters faction here. We find ‘em, and bury them here at the Grand Lodge. If you need a little bit of… pep, I can add something from my personal flask.” She taps a flask at her hip, engraved with an image of a ship.

Uncle Good Good recognizes Zarta Draleen immediately, swirling a goblet of punch in her left hand and a letter opening dagger in her right. This Chilexian woman used to be the bridge between the Chileax Empire and the Pathfinder Society until Chileax damned her over false charges. Now she is the Head Archivist, storing and tracking dangerous artifacts for the Society. "Oh? Good to see you all, Pathfinders. Having a great time?" She taps the punch bowl at a specific rhythm, and you notice the liquid churn, briefly change color, and almost spill out before Captain Benarry grabs the bowl and holds it still. Zarta chuckles. "This bowl fills with an endless amount of water upon command. It also performs many other tricks, some of which only I am privy to."

You can entertain Zarta with a Arcana, Occultism, Academia Lore, or Library Lore check/Aid attempt. You can also try a more difficult Diplomacy check. You can also choose to do nothing, or Exactly One of you can ask Janira to automatically Aid someone else's check.

Rathal is keenly interested in the punch bowl...

"Hi I'm Rathal, and your punch bowl intrigues me. Is its design inspired by the almighty Nethys?"

"No matter, either way may I examine it briefly? I'm innately curious about all things magical, and I cannot resist this item's allure.
