Retired - now known as Wandering Phoenix, one of the Mage Warriors.

Since the moon radishes seem like a potentially nice treat for Oleg and Svetlana Issi motions quiet to Urram and sneaks through the patch to claim a basket.

Perception, Sickened: 1d20 + 5 - 2 ⇒ (1) + 5 - 2 = 4

Completely consumed with their own misery, the kobold don't notice you slipping in and taking one of their baskets. You can sneak away again to complete your theft.

Flush with victory Issi claims the radishes for her own and then she and Urram head back to the outpost - exploration can keep another day.

When you return to Oleg's, Svetlana is ecstatic to see the basket of moon radishes. "These are perfect! Oleg has been under a lot of stress lately, and I was hoping to cook him his favorite meal to help him relax. Now I can make a big pot of moon radish soup! Thank you, Issi. Here, please accept this reward for your troubles."

She offers you a pouch of jewels worth 250 gp.

Issi accepts the pouch without comment, not wishing to offend the proud woman, although she can't help but think that she's been rather dramatically overpaid for a basket of radishes...

Since they've returned she and Urram sleep in and set out exploring again the next day, intending to complete their circuit and then maybe double back on a wider path.

Over the next few days, you explore more of the land around Oleg's. You fight and slay a giant trapdoor spider, and in its lair, you find the body of a dead bandit. A scrap of paper tucked in the bandit’s left boot bears a simple drawing of a claw-shaped dead tree atop an otherwise barren hill, with an “X” in blood scrawled by the tree's roots.

The map bears fruit a few days later when you come upon an old lightning-struck oak tree that stands atop a low hill. Approached from the north, the tree looks eerily like a claw reaching for the clouds. In a hollow amid the tree’s roots on the north side, you dig up a hidden cache that consists of a masterwork dagger, a wand of burning hands (CL 2nd, 4 charges), a silver ring worth 75 gp, and a spellbook. Unfortunately, rain seeping down into the cache has damaged much of the spellbook, but five of the spells (identify, mage armor, reduce person, silent image, and unseen servant) remain intact.

Urram enjoys the battle with the spider, or more accurately he enjoys crunching up the tasty spider meat once the battle is won and Issi starts climbing into holes.

"Find anything?" He asks. "Treasure?"

As a dragon he is naturally concerned with the collection of treasure, and although the map seems promising the eventual collection is disappointing.

"This is all?" He rumbles. "Barely worth the effort! Not like jewels!" He had been delighted by Svetlana's payment for the radishes and had nearly charged off the harvest the entire radish patch, until Issi pointed out that Svetlana didn't have many more jewels else they would be living somewhere else.

"We haven't had to do anything extra to get it though." Issi counters. "Any wealth is good. We'll need several fortunes to set up a real kingdom, and every little counts." She gives Urram a nudge on the snout. "When we can I'll get you a gold chain to wear that will show how wealthy and powerful you are. But for now we should push on."
