@GM: How are we rolling? Do we need to make a Will Save first and attempt a skill check after or can the Will save be omitted with a successful skill check?

![]() |

I presume it would be will save first then make the check.

Hey guys I'm traveling at the moment. I think I'm able to put up a post tomorrow evening (Europe time). Hang in there, you'll get your lunch!
If you run into trouble until then, Pickles will stab the enemies he can flank easily.

![]() |

Have a great trip, Pickles. I hear that your cooking is better than that airplane food. Eat at your own risk -- which is how we felt with those shard-less eggs.

![]() |

It's been a couple days since we've seen a post from our GM. Everything okay? Maybe just on holiday. If so, have fun! However, if you're waiting on us, looks like there's consensus for the shipwreck.

![]() |

Happy New Year everyone!

![]() |

Happy new year guys!
Sorry for being absent, these holidays has been kinda messy and I've lost tracks of a couple of online stuffs, I don't know if it's too late to get back at it, again sorry and hope you understand x.x

Happy New Year to all. And by all means, Ritcher, hop back in. One of the benefits of PbP is that it's easy enough to get caught up.

Yeah Ritcher, it's time to shine. What better opportunity for a rogue to hop back in than a stealth mission. Good to see you back, planned my cooking for a six piece party and we don't want to spoil any ;)

![]() |

Hey guys, they upped the lockdown restrictions where I live. I'll have to sort out daycare for my kids. I'll be able to post tomorrow I think, but right now it's a lot of phone calls. Sorry.

![]() |

Oh no! Hope you’re able to get stuff figured out.

Good luck with everything, Pickles. We'll try to curb our appetites while the chef is away.
On another topic, did everyone see that Paizo released 2 new classes for Play Testing from now thru Feb 5? They added Gunslinger and Inventor, which will likely cost AcP to play when they're officially released. You can find more info here:

![]() |

Wow! Two new classes! I'm interested in playing a cowboy gunslinger yet is not favorite class, the inventor is interesting too, I may give it a look when I can.
Also, wow! I should have made Ritcher an scoundrel instead of Thief, two natural 20s in diplomacy in a row is pretty great consider how low my rolls tends to be.

![]() |

Jal is up next before the Ritual goes, right?

![]() |

Yep. And I'll need to sort out the map for that.

![]() |

Sorry, gang. Crazy weekend. Catching up and posting.

![]() |

As most of you know, the Paizo site has been down most of the past day. It's back up now (and you can probably get to our game forum posts), but if you have trouble logging-in, Paizo recommends clearing your cookies for the site and then try again.
(If you use Chrome, you can delete cookies by right-clicking on the tiny lock-icon next to the paizo.com URL, then click Cookies, Remove, Done).
Also, GM, since this final battle is a little confusing, would it be possible to let us know who's up in Initiative at the end of each of your posts? For instance, who's up now? Thanks!

![]() |

That did the trick! Thank you Doc

![]() |

Yeah, I definitely had trouble logging back in. Hopefully I'm good now. :)
Where are we on this fight, btw? We're not waiting on me, are we?

![]() |

I think Ritcher is the only one who hasn't gone this round. Pretty much all logging in yesterday was down, seems like they had some hardware failure in their user database from some severe winds

![]() |

GM -- Since Ritcher hasn't posted in a week, any chance of putting him in Delay (or just botting him), so we can move along with this encounter?

![]() |

alright I'm a bit confused on the flaw count it seems we were counting up, and now were counting down.
so we started with 3/9 from the assistants and tavvar
30 occultism from dr 4/9 (unless the crit gives an extra fix)
23 occultism from vralzyk 5/9
27 occultism from vralzyk 6/9
pickles kills wisp 7/9
but then gm posted this correction:
((Correction - Tavvar has three assistants which are holding one flaw each at bay, leaving five flaws currently uncontrolled. Tavvar is acting as the ritual anchor which stops it from flying out of control. It would be bad if any of them died))
So we only need to stop 1 more flaw by my count, unless the Dr's crit gives us 2 successes in which case that is 5 flaws done. Is this correct? Sorry for the confusion, just trying to figure out where the count is at

![]() |

Also, who all is affected by these negative waves? Should Jal be rolling these fort saves?

![]() |

FLAWS
My understanding is we needed to fix 6 of the 9 flaws, since 3 of them are being handled by the assistants.
As Vralzyk pointed out, the Doctor repaired 1 and Vralzyk repaired 2, for a total of 3. This means we still need to fix 3 more flaws.
If the wisps kill any assistants, those flaws would no longer be controlled. So we need to keep the assistants alive.
Question: How many actions does it take to repair a flaw? Looks like Ritcher made 2 attempts on his turn.
FORT SAVES
Jal, I believe the GM said that only those attempting to fix the ritual need to make the Fort Saves. So Jal should be fine.

![]() |

In one of the GM's posts he also stated that killing a wisp removes a flaw as well, so that is where the 4 flaws fixed and 2 more needed is coming from.

Ahhh...missed that! Excellent. So we should be down to 2 flaws left. And Lazarus hopefully dealt with one of them on his turn just now. So maybe down to 1?

![]() |

I think it is indeed looking quite good. You guys are pretty good at fixing these flaws :)
I still think even with the ritual fixed we probably need to get rid of that pesky wisp. Rolling a 2 and a 1 on my attacks didn't help. That's payback for the earlier crit I guess.
The dice giveth, and the dice taketh away... xD

![]() |

I also think I've messed up a bit. To clear a flaw it should only take one action, which presumably also includes moving to the flaw and making the correction. Also, the text seems to indicate that all three assistants are concentrating on one flaw.

![]() |

Thanks Phaeton for running! And once again, thanks to the fantastic group of players. This was awesome!
Hope to see you again at a future table

![]() |

Oh, wow. Awesome. Thanks for running the game, Phaeton.
And agreed about the group; this was an excellent first attempt at 2nd Ed. Sorry about going AWOL for a bit there, but thanks for helping me figure out some of the rules. :)
I'm always down for another.

![]() |

Thanks again for running the game for us, Phaeton.
And to echo Pickles and Jal, really had fun with our group. We all seemed to enjoy the roleplay part of it, and it was great with all the interaction among the characters. More than I've seen in past PbP games, so thanks to everyone for making me look forward to reading new game posts.
Lastly, Jal, I had no idea it was your first go at PFS 2e. You played like a pro. And your banter with Pickles, especially at the party, was awesome. Hope you continue with it!

![]() |

Yes! and tacking on to the good doctor, If anyone is looking for any other games shoot me a message and I'd love to get the gang back together!!
Good luck in your future pathfinding everyone

![]() |

I'm definitely game for grouping back up.
And thanks for the encouragement, Doc. I used to be on the boards here a few years ago for a long time, but had to take a hiatus from the hobby. So pbp is not new at all, but 2nd edition DEFINITELY is.
