Corgrim Taïlas

As a devout worshipper of Calistria, and after a second whisky, Corgrim sacrifices to his religious duties, taking a girl upstair, and inviting Lili, with more than a glint of joyful lust in his eyes, playfully giving the local girl a quick spank on her bottom while they walk upstairs
You can watch if you don't want to join... But the more the merrier. We could put a blindfolf on your eyes, and you'll have to find out if the tongue that just tasted you, the mouth that just kissed you, the hands that just caress you, were female.. or not. In fact, even if you don't want to join, you could be blindfolded, and be all ears, listening to the sounds of passion...
Worth trying..
Menes Donkor

Shaking his head, Menes tries not to think about the debauchery of his companions.
"See you lot in the morning." he announces, retiring alone.
Lili Thulgust

Lili shakes in visible discomfort at Corgrim's words, looks more uncomfortable as she scans the room and sees some of the girls eyeing her, then quietly asks the proprietor if she can have a private room with a locking door.

The team vanishes off to their various rooms for the night. Some get more rest than others.
In the morning, the mood in the inn is somber. It appears the man who came back to town yesterday succumbed to his wounds overnight.
Dalard returns after you have breakfasted.
"I don't know what did for Jessup, but he shouldn't have died from those wounds. There is someone unnatural out there. You have to find Lord Becher..." He gives you rough directions that you can follow.
"And these might be helpful to you too.."
He hands over a couple of scroll cases and a potion bottle.
A quick check shows they are two scrolls of remove disease a potion of remove paralysis
In the misty daylight, you can make out a very poorly marked path that leads out into the swamp. "That leads to the barrel aging cave... that is where he went."
Boaz Kostaz
|
"We'll get down to business." Boaz nods and accepts the scrolls and potion. "Whatever it is, we'll find out what happened."
Then Boaz looks towards the swamp. "Well, here we go."
Leon the Brute
|
Lol, one would think that scroll might have saved the guy’s life but I guess giving it to random strangers seems logical. But hey, free stuff! :P
Leon thumps loudly down the stairs, cracking his head hard into the top of the doorframe. He doesn’t notice.
Grabbing a couple bowls of porridge he eats on the road, ”So dis Lahd guy we godda find da body or sumtin?”
Menes Donkor
|
Calmly joining the group after eating alone, Menes eyes the scrolls. 'Interesting choice...perhaps they didn't have anyone to activate them.'
Eyes going wide a moment, he thinks over his group. 'Do we have a priest?'
....
'Well Dis!'
'Maybe someone has some kind of training...Probably wouldn't work anyway. Those things never went as planned back home. Always gave off a pine scent...sometimes blew up...'
"Hollow, I see? Anyway, good morning Leon." he offers calmly. "Preferably we'll find the man still alive, but I suppose at this point we should assume he's both alive and dead. You got the gist of it though. Shall we head into the mire then?"
GM Aerondor
|
Yeah, random scenario weirdness. And means that well.. if you get a nasty disease you might not die from it. Handy.
You start off through the misty, stinky, damp and overall just rather unpleasant swamp. After about an hour a narrow footpath leads down a gentle but muddy escarpment, disappearing into thick tangles of shrubs and swamp-weed. At the base of the hill, the dirt path turns to soft sticky mud. It winds back through the shadowy mire. Nailed to a nearby tree hangs a moss-covered plank crudely cut into an arrow that points towards the mucky path.

Boaz is more content today. With a smile on his face, "This swamp is lovely, don't you think? Look at the soft mud! The thickets are thick and the swamp-moss mossy."
Boaz is attempting to be more positive. "At least we're not in Railford anymore. It's going to be a good day.". He follows the road into the muddy path, trying not to complain.
GM Aerondor

The mud averages a little more than a foot thick. It is a wet, hard slog with your feet becoming mired in the bog at regular intervals. After a few more minutes, Boaz notices an annoying prick just above his boots ankle.

"At least we're not in Railford anymore. It's going to be a good day.". He follows the road into the muddy path, trying not to complain.
"The town wasn't all bad." Howirk observes, recalling the night's activities. Though clearly not pleased by being up to his knees in mud, the halfling doesn't complain about the terrain, but does keep his eyes open for potential hazards that could possibly catch a stuck halfling unaware.

Boaz rolls up his trouser leg. There, on his real leg, is a large very leech. Having made a bit of a mess of attaching itself, it starts to make up for lost time, sucking away...
Boaz Kostaz
|
Boaz yips in pain. "Get it off, get it off, GET IT OFF!". He'll try to get the leech off in an appropriate manner.
"We need to watch out for leeches. Be careful everyone."
GM Aerondor
|
Well.. if you have salt, that is one way, or you could cut it, or burn it. I guess someone with the heal skill could try that as well...
Corgrim Taïlas
|
Look who's leech-erous now....That's another way to get sucked
says Corgrim with, well, grim humor
Let's get on more solid ground while we can, if we can, then we'll get rid of that nasty
He looks around for some patch of less soggy ground while taking his dagger to cut the leech if there's none
GM Aerondor
|
There are some rises a short way away that is at least a little out of the immediate mud.
Cutting out a leach will cause a small amount of damage, let me know if you want to go ahead with it.
Lili Thulgust
|
Seeing her Halfling friend struggling with the mud, she moves beside him and says, "I could carry you on my back if you need."
When the leech is identified as an issue, Lili points to the wand hanging from her belt and says, "Magic missile?" Always hits its target and I imagine 1d4+1 would easily exceed the hit points of a leech and wouldn't also damage Boaz since it only hits its target.
Boaz Kostaz
|
Boaz's eyes widen when Lili suggests shooting the leech on his leg. "Uh... I think I'll just cut it out."
Boaz will just cut it out, but he'll be careful. Is there a roll for this to see how careful he is?
Leon the Brute
|
Leon nods at the half-orc, "Nice. Get dem offa ya quick. Stab an pop em right out."
The big human continues down the path.
GM Aerondor
|
The path continues for about a mile and a half when it comes to the edge of a shallow bog whose waters rise above the muck, covering the tracks entirely. A patchy film of sicklycolored, rubbery fungus floats upon the surface. Near the water’s edge, three moss-covered planks hang cockeyed from a rotten wooden post.
Many in the group are starting to feel rather tired...
Corgrim Taïlas
|
I don't like this place, but it has been quite a trek so far. Should we rest a little, or push on? Could someone used to the outdoors find a safe place to rest?
Corgrim eyes suspiciously the trees, water, sky...Everywhere. Can't be suspicious enough.

Leon yawns, ”Dat was moah tiring lass nigh den I thought. Any buddy got sum coffee?”
GM Aerondor
|
Lili notices that Leon has a leach on him too... Who knows how many of the pests are infesting you all?
Markus meanwhile looks at the boards. They are very moss encrusted, but he can wipe that off without a lot of effort.
The first sign reads, “Railford 1-3/4 miles”, the second reads “Barrel-Aging Caves 3/4 mile,” and the third sign reads “Beware of Screamers.”
You note where the passage of some creatures, most likely Becher and his men, disturbed and broke apart the film of floating fungus.

PLease Calistria, not a leech here...
The rogue cuts the leeches loose, suffering himself in the process, and frantically looking into his pants before sighting in relief
Sorry, I just had to be sure...how couldn't we feel a thing? Bloody bloodsuckers! I really feel weak now, don't you?

Everyone settles down on a high patch to remove leaches. Ugh, disgusting. And painful. Ouch.,
I'll just do the rolls for everyone now. You do get a fort save to avoid the con damage. To speed things up, I'll roll them, but if you want to do use a reroll or have an abilty that gives a bonus on this type of save, let me know.

5 damage from leeches?!?!? Craziness!
Lili looks sheepishly at Boaz and says, "If you would be willing to use your healing wand again, these things seemed to really like demon blood," and she gives a frown.

Technically it is the con damage that is from the leeches, the removal is the bit that does actual hp damage
Leon the Brute

”And uh... big guy blood too. I’d appreciate the help as well.
Once everyone is healed enough to continue, he pushes on into the swamp.

Wow, this is a killer...HP dmg+CON dmg for level 1 character, on the second encounter? That will leave a mark! If I read your rolls well, I passed two out three Fort rolls, and so lost "only" 1 CON? HP should be 6/9 so
I could do with some healing, if you don't mind.
