Niu knows these dolls to be soulbound dolls. The soul bound to the doll lives within a focus integrated into the doll or its apparel, typically one of the doll’s eyes or a gem embedded into its neck or chest. They resist all types of damage to some degree with the exception of magic. Their daggers rarely cause harm.

The barber surgeon doll responds "Only common, sir. A soul bound to this body." Pointing at the dentist's chair she says “Next patient, please!”

"These constructs have a soul trapped within a gem or other valuable item that serves to animate them. This practice would be abhorrent to Pharasma. I don't know why they have been allowed to remain in this form.

Maybe they would like us to set them free so their soul can move on?"

The patient with the bloody mouth points to the chair and mumbles "Next patient, Please!"

The sword clattering to the ground seems loud, until it is followed by the sound of the six foot two hundred bound metal clad farmboy.

The flaming hair around Agnimitra's head seems to writhe fiercely as she fights off the magical sleep enchantment. "That's a dirty trick, little man. We only meant to come here so that we can get the approval of the one who watches this post, but we have be attacked at all points."

The patient with the bloody mouth points to Etgar and Agni and mumbles "She said sleep now!"

Agni steps over Niu, lying on the ground (is he snoring?), attempting to defend her companion as she swings at her adversary. "Speak for yourself, Donny," she growls, clearly upset.

The dental patient doll mechanically smiles at the sleeping Niu. Two tiny wooden fingers locate his jugular. The other hand presses a dagger to it. "Sleep the long...."

Angi delivers damage to the murderous doll but not quite enough to drop it. Etgar's spear tip meets the floor. The doll finishes her sentence ...sleep." and presses the dagger into the neck of the helpless Niu.

As his head clears, he reaches up to feel the line of blood on his throat.

Grabbing the doll, he begins tearing it apart, looking for the item housing the trapped soul.
