For discussing things.
Kolaiah
Alrighty then, it looks like we've got...
Zandora by Zanbabe -- CG Aasimar Sorcerer (Rakshasa Bloodline)
Rigel Pordyras by C B 380 -- N Dhampir Investigator
Kolaiah by Zahir ibn Mahmoud ibn Jothan -- LN Minotaur Rogue (Consigliere)
Ratón Pérez by The Lobster -- CN Tooth Fairy Swashbuckler (Mouser) 3/Fighter (Opportunist) 1
Drahkn by Ouachitonian -- LE Blue Dragon (wyrmling)
Milo Blackbottom by Oblivion's Scion -- CG Halfling Distiller (Gunslinger / Bard)
I see:
A sorcerer, 3 light fighters (sure, I'm technically not overly light, but I AM a rogue), a Gunslinger-Bard (who is the only healer we have?), and a Blue Dragon (who appears to be our real tank!)
We have alignments from CG to LE, and LN to CN; oh and a TN!
Should be an exciting group!
Zandora
Thanks for the pick, Coyote. I was expecting more humans, but this should be fun with such a group of diverse creatures. :)

That was my thinking too.
That said, I've got some plans for a reputation system with the various factions of the city, which will work somewhat like Prestige in PFS 1st edition, allowing healing items to be acquired a bit more easily.
Drahkn
I’m the tank, am I? So it’s Bloodrager levels going forward, then.
Actually, that’s something I wanted to ask the GM about. Monster PCs that have more powerful versions generally don’t advance by adding HD, and it would be especially odd for a dragon to do so, since their higher CR versions are explicitly age categories. But, could I do so once? I intentionally made Drahkn right around 5-6 years old (though I may not have spelled that out in the bio) to put him on the Wyrmling-Very Young border. Now, a Very Young Blue Dragon is CR 7. So what I’d do is take the Advanced template (+1 CR) next level, then when the party hits 7, move from Advanced Wyrmling Blue Dragon to Very Young Blue Dragon. Then take bloodrager levels after that. Would you be ok with that?
GM Coyote
Sounds good to me.
I'd also like all of your opinions on adding a 7th. Personally, I'd prefer to run 6 and provide some healing resources, though if people want a more dedicated healer I could work with 7.
The Lobster
Thanks for the pick, Coyote!
I personally would prefer 6. 7 is too many in PbP, imo.
I'll draw up a profile when I can, today and yesterday was the estate sale for my grandparents' house (where I am staying due to reasons) and they sold the wireless router so I can't use the internet on my computer until late tonight, probably tomorrow.
I had a few questions about traits I wanted to ask:
2. Could I take the Prankster trait (which is for Gnomes, and since gnomes used to be fey long long ago, I think it fits) or the Gold Finger trait (which is a faction trait but the fluff says I've a family history of crime and infiltration, which, I mean, tooth fairies (teeth fairies?) would have to have)? I would like to take both, but have a back up for either should one not get permitted and if drawbacks are not allowed, I would take Gold Finger (or Criminal).
GM Coyote
I'll stick with 6, then.
Lobster, no drawbacks, but you could take either of those traits. I was thinking of scaling back the finger pinch part of Tricky Thief. Being able to repeatedly deal Dex damage feels a bit too strong. My solution is to essentially make it a swashbuckler ability, similar to parry and riposte, where it'll cost a panache to use. Does that sound acceptable?
Kolaiah, I'll be doing levelling at story points, so there aren't really neat halfway points, and I'd rather not have some people level while some don't. That said, I'll make sure the power scaling works out in terms of enemies and skill checks, and if the monstrous characters start to lag behind I may give an extra level at said milestones.
GM Coyote
I took a look at those rules, and like I said I may adjust to account for that. For now, it's nothing really to worry about.
Rigel Pordyras
I see the decision has been made, but I also would prefer only 6, especially in a story-driven campaign. 6 is already a rather large party size, so I think you're making the right call.

Blinded, for example, drops their AC by 2 (same benefit as the four points of DEX damage), removes all their DEX bonus to AC on top that (better than the four points), they have to succeed at a coin toss to hit anything (a winner), and if they wanna remove all that, they have to use their standard action, stopping them from attacking. Brutal. And I achieve that in one turn, rather than the whole combat.
Now the DEX damage ability makes them a terrifying encounter monster because you presumably have more than one in play, but imo, in single combat it's meaningless except that, as a monster ability, it cannot be as easily removed as a typical Dirty Trick.
Ultimately, you are the GM and I'll cede to your position, but that's my defense of it.
Also I would like my avatar judged by everyone. It was the least creepy big tooth avatar I could find that I liked even remotely and I am far from satisfied with it. I am shocked there wasn't just a grinning mouth with no other details. Is it too unsettling? Would that I could be the mouth from Rocky Horror.

Hmm. Well, first comment is that it is your choice, not mine, so do what you will.
However, as far as feedback... I think it is creepy, and some of the goblin pics with big teeth, or the piranha (labeled "pirahna"), have just as much focus on teeth and are less creepy, if you want teeth to be the main visual image.
Going off THIS image, you could choose a goblin picture and get close, or you could focus on the small size instead. I think there is a picture in there labeled a thri-kreen that is small and has a tool that looks similar, or the Vargouille is small with wings...

Fair enough, you make a solid case for it. I suppose I'd been thinking about it from a player standpoint, rather than from the enemies. I'll allow it unchanged.
If I remember correctly, there's a tooth fairy avatar, I think.
Assuming I do the noir setting justice, it'll be hard to tell.
Just FYI to everyone, I'm aiming to get the first gameplay post up sometime tomorrow.
Rigel Pordyras
I've played through Book 1 of Tyrant's Grasp, and the tooth fairies there are a pain in the butt. That's mainly because there are several of them, though. The image you have right now is pretty good, I suppose, Raton Perez. I honestly don't pay much heed to the avatars, anyway, except to distinguish the posters.
I'm excited to get started. I envision Rigel leaning either way in the setting, so I'm curious how it turns out. :)

Guess it's you and me, Milo
Zandora
I don't know where all of this anti-tooth fairy speciesism is coming from, but you are welcome to switch over to our table anytime. :)
GM Coyote
Waiting to hear from Milo until I move us along.

Is it too late to exchange out a feat or two?

Hey sorry for the radio silence; I've been very sick this week and mortified at the possibility of it being COVID (especially with me visiting family I would hate to transmit it to them), so in my anxiety I let things slip. I got tested today and hope to have the results tomorrow.

No worries! I had a COVID scare early in the pandemic so I know that anxiety well.
Best wishes for a speedy recovery from whatever it might be!

Results say it is not COVID! Huzzah!
Zandora
Glad to hear it. :)
GM Coyote
Raton, what feats would you like to swap? I'm a bit hesitant about it but I could allow it if it's nothing major.
Ratón Pérez
I am hoping to trade out Weapon Focus (Light Blades) for Skill Focus (Stealth), so my 7th level feat can be Hellcat Stealth. Sure, I can turn invisible at will, but only once a day, and with how things are going, stealth might remain this important throughout the campaign.
GM Coyote
That sounds fine to me.

Heads Up -- I will be traveling/visiting with family starting November 18th through December 2.
Traveling days I won't be able to post (driving cross-country), and I am not sure whether I will have time while visiting with family, so please feel free to either bot my character or put her on ice in the meantime.
Apologies for the extended absence. I'll be on mostly normally till Wednesday, so if you have questions/requests before I go, let me know.
Ratón Pérez
Excited for our investigations come morning.
Zandora
Still on vacation, so not jumping in to do anything else, but if you guys need my character for something, I am checking in now and then.
Ratón Pérez
Hey hi I had phone and internet problems starting the same day and just got my phone back late last night; I'll catch up and post soon, sorry y'all

Hey folks, apologies for the recent inactivity. I've been in the midst of finals, and I've got a lot more on my plate than I anticipated. I should be able to get back to a more reliable posting schedule by next week.
Ratón Pérez
Totally understandable, thank you for DMing this has been very engaging already.
