The orc looks down at his mechanical friend.

"Oh yeah! There might be thugs trying to get her back...you should hire some protection..."

"Your daughter..." Silas grunts as he gently places Fallon upon a nearby couch. "...seems to have been drugged like my friends said. They sent two killers to kill us and then to kill you for meddling in their affairs." Glad to be rid of the weight, Silas leans on a nearby chair with a little smirk on his face as he reaches into his pockets and pulls out papers.

"I grabbed these from his desk. I...I can't read but maybe they'll be useful to you. This Brother Vance though? He's a bad seed and I don't think he is going to stop just because we succeeded." Silas lets his comment hang in the air for a few moments as he tilts his head, nodding at the noblewoman. "What are your plans now, m'lady?"

Human-ish Level i^64 game master l Team (H): 3, Team(P):2

Loria gives Mok a "What the hell do you think I hired you 4 for?" look as he suggests hiring protection.

Ah, let me see that. she says, regarding the papers. As she takes them she starts looking through them, eyes slowly widening. Oh... Oh dear. I think you boys might want to run these documents down to the Shrine of the One god or the temple. this Swiet is rather dangerous.

HP 6/17| AC 18/16 | Wis +5, Cha +3 | Perception +5, darkvision 60 ft| Speed 25 | Spell DC 13, Spell Attack +5

Silas scoffs for a moment as he sees the look on Loria's face expecting them to just protect her.

"Don't forget our deal; fifty shillings to investigate this cult and extract your daughter. We did both. However, these men nearly killed a few of the people I like so I'm willing to negotiate cheap terms to have a chance to cut their throats." The vicious look on Silas's face begins to disappear as he notices the disconcerting look upon Lady Cassenault's face. That was never the face you wanted to see someone have when reading the notes belonging to a cult. Silas was fairly sure of that.

"Shit..." He mumbles to himself, running a hand through his hair before looking at the group. "To the temple then? Maybe they'll have some insight into what in Hell's name is going on." He turned to leave, turning around just a moment to point at Lady Cassenault once more. "Don't forget; cheap rates. We'll talk it out later, yeah?"

Human-ish Level i^64 game master l Team (H): 3, Team(P):2

Loria looks at Silas as far as I'm concerned, we're in the same storm here. They've placed a hit on you as much as me. Ten more shillings, and you're saving your own damned necks. she says

she hands you the diary. it says he and his consort were expelled from the Adepts for trafficking with emons, and that they intend to call one here.

HP 6/17| AC 18/16 | Wis +5, Cha +3 | Perception +5, darkvision 60 ft| Speed 25 | Spell DC 13, Spell Attack +5

Silas stares blankly for a moment before taking the diary from their patron, looking down at the meaningless characters for a moment before nodding. "Demon summoners. 60 shillings. I'm alright with that." Silas says with a nod. "Mok, Baros, you two want to go to the temple? Maybe they can help. Hund and I will stay here and keep guard?"

"Let's hurry...I do not wish to leave these two alone if the demon is unleashed!"

Grommok gives Hund a quick pat on the head and then starts a quick run/walk towards the church with Baros.

Human-ish Level i^64 game master l Team (H): 3, Team(P):2

Fallon starts to stir as the others leave. Ugh... So it wasn't a dream, those people really did kidnap me. she says. She seems clearer already.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~
As you two leave for the temple of the Old gods, you catch sight of two cloaked figures sneaking around to the back of the Cassenault house.
HP 6/17| AC 18/16 | Wis +5, Cha +3 | Perception +5, darkvision 60 ft| Speed 25 | Spell DC 13, Spell Attack +5
"By those people, I hope you're talking about Brother Vance and his folk. A few of my friends had to take a hell of a licking in order to get you out of there." Silas grumbles, pacing around the room and checking the windows carefully. Who knew how many more agents could be lurking around this town.
"What can you tell us about Vance and his cultists? They seem keen on summoning a demon. Bad business for a girl like you to get involved with." He murmurs, moving from one window to the next.
Hund - Clockwork Mage Level 1| S10, A10, I8, W11 | Health 12 | Damage: 4 | D13 | Move: 12 | Perc: 8 | Insanity: 0 | Corruption: 0| Fortune: No | Status: Dog
Hund moves over to sit next to the girl, resting his head against her leg in a gesture of comfort. How much comfort a metal dog can actually give someone is another question, but it doesn't stop the clockwork hound.
Human-ish Level i^64 game master l Team (H): 3, Team(P):2
No, you and your... where's the orc who threatened Vance? she says You kidnapped me, and when people came to get me back, you killed them too. she says. she is trying to get up, and her eyes are on the door.
Why would Vance want to summon a demon? why would he want to hurt my mom? I don't know what you and your friends have against the Adepts, but they're just people trying to find enlightenment!
HP 6/17| AC 18/16 | Wis +5, Cha +3 | Perception +5, darkvision 60 ft| Speed 25 | Spell DC 13, Spell Attack +5
Silas sighs for a moment, shaking his head as he steps closer towards her and puts a hand on her shoulder.
"Maybe some of the adepts are good folk. Maybe not all of them want to try and summon a demon. They could've been drugged up like you were and they just don't see the signs." It wasn't uncommon for the fey to keep his own senses dulled and confused. It made eighteen years fly by so fast.
"Your mother has sent others to investigate the cult and get you out of there if it was dangerous. You were drugged so Mok and Hund got you out. Brother Vance sent those killers after us and your mother. I'm sure there'll be more." Silas did his best to put on a friendly face, squatting down to look the young woman in the face. "Before you start thinking of where you can escape to so you can get back to them, lets see what the temples have to say, yeah? Even if we don't know the reason, demon summoning can't be good right?"
Silas sighed for a moment as the girl began to stand up, shouting that she was an adult and acting exactly as a tantruming child would. The man's eyes would move to her mother, looking at her apologetically for a moment. The next time she began to push past him, he would rear back and headbutt her. Hard.
"Good. Glad we cleared that up." Silas says, staring daggers at her for a moment. Reaching into his pocket, he would toss a rag to her for her to hold to her face to help stem the flow of blood coming down her face. "Put some pressure on it and don't tilt your head back. It'll slow in time." With that last bit of conversation, he gave an apologetic look to Loria but returns to his vigil against the wall.
Rordan
The Bar has been... unproductive. You have rumours about the Adepts, sure, but none of them agree. The adepts are a sex cult, that's definitely true, but the precise deviance varies ("They have captive beastmen to mate with", "they chain women up in their basement", "They tryst with wild abandon, hardly even realising who their partner is") and the supernatural elements are completely inconsistent.
Pa, Pa! a boy who has just burst into the Frozen Sparrow shouts. Two men, an orc, and the metal dog just walked into town carrying the Cassenault girl! he says. What do you do?
Baros and Mok
Mok's magic staff cracks the man across the head hard, and Baros's spear doesn't exactly tickle.
The enforcer being attacked retaliates against mok, and tells the other one Finish the job now! Thug on Mok: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3 but Mok is easily able to bat away his weapon
The other fetches a flint and steel, and tries to set the oil ablaze INT with 1 bane: 1d20 - 1d6 ⇒ (17) - (4) = 13 and it catches. The fire is small... For now!
Next round I guess
Inside the house
It is about after Fallon starts pouting and using a handkerchief to staunch the flow, you hear the sounds of violence, a sound getting depressingly familiar. What do you do?
HP 6/17| AC 18/16 | Wis +5, Cha +3 | Perception +5, darkvision 60 ft| Speed 25 | Spell DC 13, Spell Attack +5
Silas hears the sound of combat coming from the outside and moves his way to a window, opening it up and peering over the side to study that he catches his comrades fighting a duo of men. It seemed that that Lady Cassenault had attracted quite a few enemies with the cult. The fight was already bad enough but the sight and sound of a fire catching made his eyes widen.
"Are you f&#+ing kidding me?" Silas murmurs, looking back towards Hund, Lady Cassenault, and her daughter. "Well miss, your friends from the cult are burning down your mother's home. Let us get outside now, yeah?"
Rordan immediately turns from the current patron he's speaking with, stopping him mid-sentence. He quickly approaches the boy.
"Child, did you just say there was an Orc and a Metal Dog?" Realizing the absurdity of approaching a child this way he quickly reveals a symbol of The Order of Verity toward the boy and his father.
Hopefully they don't recognize I'm no longer involved with The Order.
Rordan steps toward the door.
"Where were they last?"
Moving Forward:
If the child gives Rordan the information he will immediately begin moving toward the group. Unless someone tries to stop him.
Outside
Per the two day rule, Mok takes a slow turn
The thug recoils from Baros' spear, but he retaliates, while his friend Target's Mok
Thug 3 on Baros: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9 But the first thug misses by a country mile. Thug 4 on Mok: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 20 thug 4 damage to Mok: 1d6 ⇒ 4 but the second one lands a good, solid blow on Mok.
The Frozen Sparrow, minutes earlier
Several patrons and the boys father rise to the boys defense, saying that there was, in fact, a metal dog in here last night, with the group that The Cassenaut's butler did proposition.
They were goin' down the main road, toward the Cassenault house. The big human was carrying Fallon. he says.
Silas follows Hund out the front, taking the rear to make sure no one snuck up on Lady Cassenault and her daughter kept from any other poor decisions. He walked out and scoped the front for any dangers, ambush points, or other threats.
I think that being an Outlaw could give Silas some idea of where to attack and strike from. Nothing on the level of a military profession or a professional kidnapper/murderer, but a little bit of an advantage.
It was almost too exact for what he had expected to find out here in front of the building. The two thugs across the street were watching them and believed themselves to have the element of surprise. It almost made a smirk come to his face as he moved up alongside Hund.
"We're going to go down the road and cut through an alley. The ladies get behind us and we'll wait for those bastards to walk into our trap." Silas murmurs, carefully moving down the way. It was hard to tempt the predators to make a move but hopefully, they would bite.
My goal is to lead the ladies away a little but and make it look like we're cutting through alleyways between buildings to save time. Then when they come looking for us, we get the jump on them.
Rordan exits The Frozen Sparrow following the crowd's suggestions. He does not rush, yet instead takes his time thinking about how he'll approach the creature.
I'm not even sure what I'll say to The Hound. Will he even remember? I owe him my life. Hell, why was he there in the first place? ... And what does he know about the Cultists?
Rordan passively walks through the town, he expected to find The Hound eventually, but didn't think it would be so soon. He doesn't pay active attention toward his surroundings until the smell of acrid smoke flares in his nostrils.
That looks to be the direction of The Hound... This can't be good.
He draws his bow and moves in.
Silas moves into the alleyway, his face remaining its composure just long enough to keep a grin from spreading across it. He had seen the men realize their opportunity; a chance to impress their leader and secure their prize and eliminate a danger. Their eagerness would be their undoing.
