Department of Expectations Management: due to a bunch of off-screen projects the GM will be minimally available to answer questions until the start of August. I have a whole bunch of imminent deadlines, so I won't be getting this game organized until then.

Who are you, and what do you have to offer the party?

I'm Teka Teach, a ysoki is has had the privilege of being able join in on these exciting romps and adventures over the years.

I have had augmentations here and there to help me from being a bother and they help me keep my hands steady as help shoot at all the little things we end up fighting on our journey. If need be I am able to share my little stories I've gathered during my life to help encourage you to keep you in the fight (remove minor negative conditions and restore SP).

I will admit though that I'm far more comfortable avoiding fights where I am able. There have been a number of lovely infiltrations I've gotten through since I was young. While terminals have changed I feel like my skills have been refreshed over the years and I could talk my way through or sneak through computer security.

Have you crossed paths with Izalgaans before?

Well I've heard this and that about them on the infosphere, but I've never had been able to speak with any of them.

I haven't been on a great many adventures with Teka, but I enjoying exploring and helping the party when playing through Enter the Ashen Asteroid.

I have not played 1-13 on this character nor any other.

I updated my bot-me protocol in my profile, and hopefully that should suffice. I'm good with 1-2 posts per day, but I'm not likely to be able to bot others in any timely manner. I'll at least try though. If I get super busy I'll definitely ping you.

A really great question:

Since the faq and errata material has been added to the PDF version of the core rulebook today; would it be okay if Umbro also buys two Mk. I flash grenades at the new price?

So... I am going to return with a question of my own to the party. Do we adopt the errata for this game? Since you are currently in a game-in-progress, we have the option of not applying the errata until the game is over. (The idea being not to force players to rebuild mid-game in a multi-session module.)

The lowered prices on medicinals and grenades are awesome. Players may find themselves surprised by changes to Enhanced Resistance (and thus, their builds.) But... If we adopt of the errata, we should take all of it. And all games starting after today will certainly have the new errata applying to them, as Organized Play will certainly be adopting the errata for all games going forward.

Here is the errata's change to Enhanced Resistance.

Enhanced Resistance

You have trained your body to resist a particular type of damage.
Prerequisites: Base attack bonus +4.
Benefit: Choose one kinetic damage type (bludgeoning, piercing, or slashing) or one energy type (acid, cold, electricity, fire, or sonic). If you choose a kinetic damage, you ignore damage of that type equal to your base attack bonus; this doesn’t stack with DR. If you choose an energy type, you gain energy resistance against that type of energy equal to your base attack bonus.

Also another query: Are any of the characters in this game planning to sign up for Gameday games (especially 3-00 Last Bite)?

I'm neutral on the idea of applying the errata to this game. I don't see anything within the posts that apply to my character, so I'm fine going with whatever decision is made. If someone is looking at something like Enhanced Resistance and doesn't want to rebuild that now, I won't force that and will suggest applying these changes can wait.

While I will be participating in the Gameday, I'm not planning to do so with Teka.

I'm fine with whatever the group wants if someone feels strongly about it. None of the rule changes really affect Umbro. If everyone is netural I'd vote for using the new rules as I would like to buy those cheaper grenades.

I'll be playing in Gameday and might possibly use Umbro, but if there are people in the current game where a faster pace is difficult for them I've got no problem not using him in Gameday.

When I leveled up I was waffling between Enhanced Resistance and Soothing Telepathy. I wanted to take Soothing Telepathy but as a frontliner I had a hard time justifying it. I would be more than happy to switch my decision to Soothing Telepathy right now and begin playing to the current changes.

As far as the timeframe is concerned, I'm not planning to play Fexia in any GameDay games, however I certainly would be all for maintaining a brisk pace and trying to finish by then. That way we won't all be starting up tables of the special while handling the conclusion of this game. Also, if my other level 5 ends up stuck in his current game, Fexia would be my backup option for the special.

I'm not fussed about Gameday games with this PC. My preference would be to apply the pre-errata rules just for simplicity, but it honestly doesn't affect my character either way (I think/hope!)

Boon Slotting:

Promotional: T-shirt: Once per session, reroll a single d20 and take the higher result, then add +1 for every GM nova.

Personal: Nufriend Skittermander (C1): Play a skittermander.

Starship: Skitterfriend (C7): Two different effects: if party numbers fewer than 6, a skittermander temporarily joins the crew during starship combat (see for details of modifiers) or at the start of every combat round the skittermander grants 1 PC a +1 bonus on any one skill check made during the round and, once per adventure, a PC who is being assisted can get dramatic assistance to reroll the skill check but this ends the skittermander’s assistance. (5 checkboxes left)

Ally: Spirits of a Doomed People (C6): If slotted and have 0 hit points and are dying, can check box to immediately gain 1 hit point and 2d8 temporary hit points even if not turn. (1 checkbox left).

Faction: Exo-Guardians Champion: Earns reputation with the Exo-Guardians faction.

Social: Savior of the Scoured Stars: Once per session may reroll any skill check made to present a positive view of the Starfinder Society to an NPC.

As someone with enhanced resistances, I'd prefer to keep it for this game ;-)

But if everyone else wants cheaper meds, I'll have a think. I might swap it out if it is only 1/3 as good.

Now that I remember, my time zone is UTC +2. This character is not participating Gameday. I have no opinion on errata.

My personal opinion on Enhanced Resistance is that it was overpowered. I think where it is now is much more balanced. It's still really effectively honestly since many enemies do bludgeoning damage with their slam attack so you can still negate it with Enhanced Resistance.

I like that they clarified how Reflecting Armor works because I always felt that was an interesting spell, but if it only worked when you took HP damage it was pretty much useless.

Somewhere there has to be a summary of it, but I couldn't see it on the regular starfinder errata page.

I know I said I didn't have to use Umbro in GameDay, but after seeing the list of games I couldn't resist. If it doesn't look like we will finish in time I'll remove him from the session I signed up for.

Rather than deal with hireling allies being 'pseudo present' I usually just assume that I'm using a phone-a-friend with them. Fexia has a computer in her pack and a datajack plugged into it at all times.

Congratulations to GM Hmm for getting her short story Tales from the Drift: Making Waves published on the Paizo blog! It's a great read. Everyone should check it out.
